Chapter 93 - Chapter 92: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

The next day.

Jiraiya followed the plan to a T.

He left a dramatic farewell letter and prepared to slip out of the village to "find" Naruto.

He looked cool, calm, and collected.

Right up until he reached the village gate and was immediately blocked by a squad of Anbu who had been waiting for him the entire time.

Cut to the Hokage's office.

Jiraiya stood there looking sheepish. Beside him was Naruto, who had been knocked unconscious yesterday and had just woken up, still groggy and nursing a headache.

"Using defection as an excuse to leave the village? Which one of you brain-dead idiots came up with this terrible idea? Huh?!"

After Tsunade beat the living daylights out of both of them, she slammed a piece of paper onto the desk.

It was the "exposure letter" left by Sasuke.

"That damn Sasuke... he actually left two copies! One for the desk, one for the reception! I miscalculated how petty he is!"

Naruto clutched the bump on his head, muttering complaints.

"Forget it. He's probably halfway to Orochimaru's place by now. It's too late to chase him down. We'll deal with that mess later."

Tsunade sighed, rubbing her temples.

Sasuke's desperate pursuit of power felt just like Orochimaru back in the day—the déjà vu was giving her a migraine.

"No! I have to get back at Sasuke! That bastard didn't just leave the village yesterday. He was camping! He saw me steal the letter, and then he ambushed me!"

Naruto clenched his fists, speaking through gritted teeth.

"Camping and ambushing you? Are you sure we're talking about Uchiha Sasuke?"

Tsunade looked skeptical.

Although she hadn't been in the village for years, since taking the hat, she'd read the files on every ninja.

Sasuke was the brooding, "too cool for you" type.

Based on his profile, he definitely wouldn't risk getting caught just to pull a prank on Naruto.

"It was definitely him! After I passed out yesterday, I swear I heard the sound of that chirping technique Kakashi-sensei taught him!"

Naruto had a look of pure determination on his face.

"Chidori?"

"Yeah, that bird noise! And when I woke up, my butt still felt kinda sore!"

"Hiss... this…"

Tsunade hesitated with a weird look crossing her face.

The sound of Chidori was way too distinctive to mistake.

But... why was his butt sore? Surely Kakashi wasn't teaching his students to tase each other in the ass, right?

"Lady Tsunade. Two outsiders have arrived in the village. They claim to be traveling performers."

At that moment, Shizune pushed the door open and interrupted the awkward silence.

"What?"

'So soon?'

A flicker of surprise passed through Tsunade's eyes. Shizune was the only other person in the room who knew about the intel from Makoto.

This report sounded boring on the surface, but it was basically the signal.

"Bring them in."

"Yes, ma'am."

"..."

Tsunade leaned back, observing the two figures walking in—one adult, one kid.

The adult was manageable.

He had the cloak, the hair covering one eye... if she hadn't known in advance that this was the future Sasuke, she might not have clocked him immediately.

But the kid? That was just absurd.

Aside from the weird banana hair, the slightly blue eyes, and the clothes that looked way too expensive for a ninja, he was practically a carbon copy of Naruto.

Pretending not to recognize him was going to take an Oscar-worthy performance.

"Ahem."

"What brings you two to Konoha? Don't mind the hostility—the village has just been through some trouble, and a Genin even defected last night. We have to treat every outsider with strict vigilance."

Tsunade stared them down as she spoke.

"A Genin defecting? Pfft—that's hilarious! Did he defect to another village to pick cotton or catch lost kittens? Right, Sas... uh, Master?"

Boruto burst out laughing the second he heard about a "rogue Genin."

"Hn."

The adult Sasuke responded with a non-committal grunt, aggressively looking at the wall to hide his shame.

"Naruto. Jiraiya. Stop thinking about sneaking off to peek at the women's bath. I'm assigning you a mission: monitor these two during their stay in the village. Act as their guides."

Tsunade waved her hand decisively, cutting off any protests.

"What?! But Granny, I still need to train..." Naruto whined.

"Can't you train anywhere? Look, here's the deal: if this old pervert Jiraiya ever uses 'leaving the village for research' as an excuse to skip your lessons again, just tell me. I will personally break his ribs."

"That's... that's awesome! Granny Tsun—uh, Hokage-sama, you are truly wise!"

Naruto clenched his fist and pumped it in the air.

"Alright, Naruto, take them on a tour. Jiraiya, you stay. I need to educate you on how to be a responsible teacher. Shizune, go drag the Third Hokage out of retirement for a minute."

Tsunade waved them off.

Ignoring Jiraiya's tragic wails, Naruto led the two "traveling performers" out of the Hokage Building.

But shortly after they left, while Naruto was enthusiastically showing them the ramen shop, the older performer vanished into thin air.

...

Back in the Hokage Building.

Jiraiya had braced himself for a beating, but after the kids left, Tsunade didn't throw a single punch.

She simply sat back in her chair, staring at the desk until Shizune wheeled Sarutobi Hiruzen in.

"What?! You're saying those two were Uchiha Sasuke from the future... and Naruto's son?!"

Jiraiya's jaw hit the floor!

Hiruzen looked equally shook, his pipe almost falling out of his mouth.

"Correct. This is the intelligence I gathered from Orochimaru and that organization. I didn't tell you earlier because it sounded insane—until today, when they actually walked through my door."

Tsunade rested her chin on her hands, her expression deadly serious.

"So, what's should we do now?" Jiraiya asked, suddenly serious.

"That guy mentioned that enemies from the 'Otsutsuki Clan' are coming. Apparently, these Otsutsuki guys are a threat to the entire world, and the future duo is here to stop them. That guy hoped I would relay this to Amegakure so they could 'assist.'"

Tsunade paused, then slapped her hand on the table.

"But I have no intention of being played like a puppet! The Otsutsuki haven't even shown up yet—we don't even know if they're real. If we relay this to Amegakure now, who knows what they'll do? They might try to take out the future Sasuke."

She narrowed her eyes. "Compared to the organization Orochimaru joined, and compared to Amegakure... I'd rather trust the future ninjas of our own village. They're hiding their identities to protect the timeline. I respect that."

"So?"

"So, keep your mouths shut. But I also want you to sniff around. Find out their true purpose, and find out who that mysterious Amegakure ninja from the future really is."

...

Late at night.

Naruto took Boruto on a grand tour of the village before finally bringing him back to his apartment.

"You live alone?" Boruto asked, looking around the messy room.

"Yeah. No mom or dad, you know how it is."

"..."

"Well, anyway! To welcome you, let me treat you to a feast!"

Naruto slammed two cups of instant ramen on the table.

After the "feast," the father and son pair turned off the lights.

They chatted in the dark for a bit before Naruto, exhausted from the day's drama, passed out first.

Boruto sighed emotionally, listening to his dad's snoring.

He was about to drift off too, when a terrifying thought suddenly hit him.

'Wait.'

'Did Dad actually recover from the "beating" I gave him yesterday?'

'And the Chidori... did Sasuke-san fry anything important?'

This was literally a matter of life and death for his own existence!

If his dad's "equipment" was damaged, Boruto might just fade away like a ghost!

Boruto gulped.

Slowly, he crawled up from his floor bedding.

In the pitch black room, he make his way to the bedside and cautiously slipped a hand under Naruto's blanket to check the... extent of the damage.

He felt around for a second.

"Seems fine. Nothing missing." Boruto breathed a sigh of relief.

"Huh?"

Naruto groggily opened his eyes, blinking in the darkness as he saw Boruto's face inches from his own.

Then, Naruto registered the sensation of a cold hand rummaging around inside his underwear.

His eyes widened in absolute horror!

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH—!!!"
