Misty in the observation deck felt the pressure and was flabbergasted as she didn't recognize the Pokemon at all. Fumbling through Soutarou's back pack, which he'd told her to hold onto, she pulled out his SummersDex and pointed it at the Pokèmon.
A robotic voice rang out which both Kaede and Soutarou heard, "Latios, The Eon Pokémon. It is one of the few acknowledged Legendary Pokémon. It is said that this Pokémon will only open its heart to a Trainer with a compassionate spirit. By folding its forelegs to minimize air resistance, it can fly faster than a jet plane. This intelligent Pokémon understands human speech and can project images of what it has seen, or even what it imagines, into the minds of others."
Just as Latios became serious it's eyes locked onto Soutarou's. Instantly it became flabbergasted using its psychic power to confirm Soutarou's psychic signature before turning back on its own trainer and mentally asking its trainer, {S-soutarou?!?! I was asleep for two days and now he's alive again? Kaede I'm not dreaming again am I?}
Kaede chuckled and casting a subtle glance at her Latios before saying, "Standby for battle, Latios."
Knowing he didn't have much time Soutarou ordered Milotic to immediately use Rain Dance. Unexpectedly, Kaede didn't make any effort to stop Soutarou; she just stared at her Latios as the pair communicated back and forth.
Kaede suddenly did something Soutarou wasn't expecting and reached into her neckline pulling out a necklace, with a Mega stone on its end before he finally noticed the Latiosite bracelet on Latios' little arm.
Soutarou roared, "MILOTIC SCALDING HYDROPUMP JUST LIKE BEFORE! FOLLOW IT UP WITH DRAGON PULSE IMMEDIATELY!!!!"
Milotic followed through instantly Soutarou knew this battle couldn't be dragged on especially when Milotic's poison ticker was going up. Soutarou thought to himself, 'Screw it, let's see how far I can push her!'
A wave of translucent golden energy flew off of Soutarou and into Milotic and into Ralts' pokéball as Soutarou began using his Viridian Power and his eyes lit up with Psychic energy as he began a crude interference of Latios using the now awake Ralts from within her Pokéball as a conduit for his power. Before his eyes glowed and a purple circular wave of energy wrapped around Milotic before passing through Latios, immediately transferring the Poison to it.
Latios' eyes narrowed, but he shrugged as if it really didn't matter. Soutarou immediately deadpanned as he internally thought, 'As expected… Legendaries are different… Even though there's a slight glow of poison on Latios… It's like he doesn't care about it at all… He's actually ignoring it? I thought it was going to turn into a game of tennis seeing who could pass it back faster with Psycho Shift.'
Milotic cried out in glee before blasting a Dragon Pulse at Latios, who in response just floated above the energy wave letting it gracefully pass by him. He just giggled covering his mouth as if he were a laughing mew. Almost taunting Milotic to fire another, before a mental transmission whispered, {You'll have to do better than that Soutarou-san and Milotic.}
Kaede smiled and shook her head and said, "Shall we show him our bond Latios?"
Latios glanced back and rolled its eyes and waved its little bracelet at Soutarou. To which Soutarou revealed his own bracelet and waved it at him in response. Latios smiled and Kaede held the necklace in her hand and dramatically announced out, "Head my call, Latios… and Mega Evolve!"
A dazzling shining light flashed over Latios, revealing a purple and white figure with longer ears, longer wings, and deep glowing red eyes that locked onto Milotic with an intensity. The sheer pressure from Latios was too immense to put into words. Even Milotic, who was usually bold and unyielding, nervously lowered herself a bit in front of Latios.
Kaede glanced at Soutarou's bracelet in some sort of understanding, all while Soutarou made a helpless face. And he finally threw his hands up in surrender, only for Kaede to say, "Surrender? No. Fight. Show me your resolve… Soutarou."
Soutarou's eyes narrowed as he felt a weird feeling before he sighed and said, "Is that so? Be honest… How am I supposed to fight a Legendary, especially one that's so well trained? My ace is already down. Not to mention your Latios is mega evolved."
Kaede tapped her chin and said, "Don't worry if I was taking this seriously Milotic would already be down for the count. Just try your best."
Soutarou's eyebrow twitched, 'This is going to turn into a "rimbombee survive this" moment isn't it? MILOTIC SURVIVE THIS! You got this!'
Soutarou's eyes surveyed the Toxic Spike filled field and an idea sparked in his mind.
Soutarou in a serious aura commanded, "Milotic, Iron Tail and slam into the ground create a pseudo earthquake! Then follow it up with Brine infused Surf, dislodge those Toxic Spikes and wash them out from the field!"
Milotic reacted at extreme speed, executing her master's order without hesitation even knowing that this was clearly a losing battle. Despite Milotic's initial fear of Latios, her fear of failing her master was much, much greater and knowing that someday she might have to face other Legendaries to protect her master, she didn't hesitate taking this as the best practice she could.
Milotic's lengthy body shot and she flipped herself downwards generating as much rotational force as she could before her tail turned silvery and slammed down the sharp edge on the ground with a roaring, "Miiiiiiiiiiiiuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!"
As a cloud of dust was kicked up she fired not a surf, but a Hydropump straight at Latios who just dodged it at the last second. Before using a Brine-Scald-Surf drawing out as much water from the air as she could with Soutarou even ordering her to draw out body moisture. Creating a monstrous towering wave with nearly all of Milotic's energy going into creating no room for escape with her even using a Dragon Pulse in a horizontal line forcing Latios to dodge down and into the wall of water. And sure enough Latios was slammed by the massive wave.
Though only for a moment before Latios just tore through the massive wave and appeared behind Milotic and booped the already exhausted Milotic with his little purple arm.
Milotic heaved and stared at Latios before she received a mental message and she fluttered her eyes prettily acting all cute and wounded, making Latios tilt his head in confusion for a moment, before Milotic's soft voice lulled Latios for a moment, before he finally noticed the pink fluctuations, just as he was about to break free from the Disarming Voice.
Milotic's Cute Charm kicked in and thanks to Latios booping her and Soutarou's luck hitting a jackpot, all of a sudden there were hearts in Latios' eyes.
Kaede's lips pursed for a moment before she chuckled and said, "What a fine specimen… Two… No three abilities on that Milotic. That's beyond rare. In fact it's not supposed to be possible… thought most champions have one or two pokemon with two abilities due to how Pokémon mutate."
"I have to say I'm beyond impressed. Forcing me to return Latios which in return will break his Mega Evolution…"
'So I was right… Mega Evolution breaks after being returned to a Pokéball… Doesn't that also just mean… You can Roar spam on a Mega Evolved pokémon?'
But Kaede just turned confused as she said, "You do realize that I just Mega Evolve Latios again after returning him to the field if my Aura allows for it?"
Soutarou wanted to say something, but he just forced out, "You should say it's impressive that I could even manage that much with my current Pokémon."
Kaede nodded before Soutarou did something totally uncalled for; he used surf to block the recall wave. Kaede's eyes widened. Soutarou then had Milotic use Draining Kiss and continue to block the recall wave.
Kaede's jaw dropped and she thought,
Misty's brows twitched as she saw a legendary nearly get cheesed, by using Draining Kiss to repeatedly heal Milotic and then Milotic switched to Dragon Tail at Soutarou's command once she fully healed.
Kaede's brows twitched before she finally tapped her Mega Evolution stone and her body lit up in a blue glow flaming glue which transmitted to Latios and broke the Infatuation. Kaede sighed and said, "As expected of you, finding a loophole and instantly abusing it. Only you could do this. Shameless, truly shameless. But let me show you that only the power of Pokémon and their bond with their trainer truly matters. Tactics are that tactics… Without power to back your tactics… All fall short of absolute strength. And Pokémon who can Mega Evolve and those trainers who are well versed in Aura can easily break status conditions like confusion or even infatuation."
"Just like this."
The hearts over Latios' eyes broke and Latios floated away from Milotic and for the first time during the entire fight Latios used an actual move.
Dragon Pulse.
But compared to Milotic's Dragon Pulse it might as well have been the damn sun with how bright and big it was. Soutarou had to put his hands up in defence of his eyes as dust shot everywhere, and a resounding boom rang out literally shaking the entire Pokémon Center with the lights flickering for a moment.
As stones fell out of the stone themed Pokémon Center's battle arena's wall and the dust began to clear revealing a very unconscious Milotic that was crushed into the upper wall. All before she began to fall and Soutarou immediately threw Servine's Pokeball and ordered her to use Vine Wipe to wrap around Milotic's head and tail end all while he had the weak and barely awake Ralts help him in using his psychic energy to slow Milotic' fall.
Just as Ralts began to falter and Servine became unable to hold up the weight Latios' psychic energy wrapped around Milotic and gently let her down. Before Soutarou recalled her into her Luxury Ball.
Soutarou made a grieved expression towards Latios and Kaede, only to see Kaede staring at Misty who then woke up from her stupor and said, "Ehem… Sorry about that… Milotic is unable to battle, Latios wins. Trainer Soutarou, please send out your next Pokémon"
Soutarou's eyebrow twitched and just motioned to Servine who was already out of her Pokéball. Only for Servine to make a pitiful expression, before putting on her serious face and preparing for some complex plan from her master.
'There's no point in wasting time with status ailments if Latios can ignore lower leveled ones, not to mention she just wakes him up from sleep, infatuation, and confusion. Since that's what it's come to just Leaf Storm spam!'
Soutarou immediately sent a wave of mental energy into Servine and he said, {Leaf Storm. Don't stop using it. Mix in a Sweet Scent. Then follow it up with Leaf Storm five times. Before spamming Magic Leaf in conjunction with Leaf Storm if you can. I believe in you Servine.}
Servine blanked for a moment before following through. And as expected even after the Sweet Scent hit Latios, he still cleanly evaded everything. Only for Servine to switch over to Magic Leaf at Soutarou's behest, but much to Soutarou's surprise and annoyance, while the attacks tracked Latios, they couldn't keep up with his raw speed as he basically flew circles around Servine in amusement.
In the end Latios opted not to boop Servine as if reliving some trauma and just used a bit of psychic energy to poke Servine and send her over the battle arena's border which resulted in Servine's loss.
Servine seemed dejected for a moment before pridefully puffing her chest out and saying, "Ser… Vine! Vine Vivine!" (I'll win next time..! I won't lose to the Jet next time!")
And so the battle ended in an anticlimactic manner.
