~Kakashi, Tekuno, Shinku Yuhi, and background Jonin POV~
All their gazes tightened preparing for a hard clash, only to see the dust clear and his crisply burnt corpse becoming clear.
Soutarou stared at them and cursed at them, making all of them turn slightly confused before they looked again at the battlefield and nodded in realization.
Kakashi in particular was flabbergasted, thinking,
Kakashi and Tekuno both sighed in relief for a moment, before Soutarou glared at them, making them feel a bit awkward. Soutarou then went for the kill, but the most surprising part was his reaction.
Kakashi and Tekuno both glanced at each other and thought,
Just as the two were about to go forward and pull Soutarou and have one of the Jonin check him. Soutarou stumbled backwards, in that instant Naori who had been struggling shot up with a jolt of energy and launched herself in such a manner that she caught Soutarou before, she softly placed his head in her lap, and stared down at him two red eyes, swirling with Three Tomoe each.
Each of the shinobi stared with widened eyes, while Kakashi literally made a gulping noise and then thought, 'Nevermind… She wasn't deadweight afterall… Three Tomoe… Barely seven years old… this is…'
A Uchiha Jonin who had joined the group, starred with a fervent look in his eyes, but all the same he suppressed his emotion, and warily glanced at the group, cursing Naori for not noticing the coward that was watching.
In the end Kakashi tapped her shoulder and said, "Ms. Let's get Soutarou-san to the hospital. He needs immediate treatment."
Naori just glanced upwards, before her eyes dimmed and her sharingan disappeared and she nodded tiredly. She then collapsed on top of Soutarou causing Kakashi's eyes behind his ANBU mask to twitch. Kakashi glanced over at the Uchiha clan member before glancing at Shinku and Shinku glanced back at him quickly understanding his intention.
Shinku then said, "Let's get these two to the hospital. Additionally we need to make sure that everyone thinks this was a practice drill. All shinobi who were present today are to submit themselves for ANBU evaluation and are likely to be asked to keep all events a secret. So effective immediately, by my authority as an Elite Jonin, in the name of the Third Hokage, this matter is sealed. Let's return and report to Lord Hokage. ANBU-san please have the emergency signal rescinded and take these two to the hospital."
The Uchiha clan member wanted to say something, but in the end held back, while slightly clenching his teeth.
And so they all headed off….
What they didn't notice was two small birds that had left the battlefield…
~Kumogakure POV~
A woman wearing a pencil skirt, glossy lips, silver hair in a bun, yet a slightly immature face wore a grim expression and entered a room, with weights, training equipment, and a large red couch and a desk, overviewing the entire Village Hidden in the Clouds. She sighed and turned her eyes towards a burly man with close-cropped pale hair and bronzed skin, who was curling weights in his hands while staring out the window.
Without turning around he said, "Mabui."
The woman named Mabui responded, "Lord Raikage. A new report, from the mission in Konoha."
The Raikage said, "So that brat is dead then-?"
Mabui grimly interrupted and said, "No. The opposite. All our operatives are dead. Our spies within Konoha are unresponding as well. The squad did manage to send a message out though…"
The man turned around and set the weights down and said, "Well? What else? Why did you stop?"
Mabui bit her lip and said, "The squad was wiped out of course…. But Soutarou Morita is a threat we have to take very seriously… Our reports were wrong. He wasn't an elite chunin. At the very least he was a Strong Special Jonin or a Weak Jonin. That's not where the mission went wrong… The mission went wrong because a little girl who we didn't pay attention to tagged along with the boy… She had the Three Tomoe Sharingan. Combined, the pair defeated and killed Tetsuro of Iwagakure…"
The Raikage's fist clenched and he slammed the desk and broke it in one punch before saying, "Dammit! I knew we shouldn't have let Iwagakure take the lead in this mission! How did they break through the barriers? What of our sealing masters we sent? What of Iwagakure's sealing grandmaster? If their grandmaster died I suppose this is still acceptable."
Mabui nodded and said, "All dead. I propose we deflect the incident onto Iwagakure and claim that they framed us, and used Kumogakure rogue ninja to drag us in as well."
The Raikage thought for a moment before shaking his head, "No point, the Yamanaka already got the details out of them if our spies stopped responding. What a loss… No matter redouble our efforts in the Land of Hot Water and Land of Frost. Keep an eye on the old fence sitter. His reaction will tell us how strongly to act."
Mabui nodded and replied, "As you wish Lord Raikage."
~Iwagakure POV~
A burly man in a red outfit with a brown vest jacket, a large nose, and a grim expression as he carried a scroll in his hands.
Throwing open a door to reveal a small old man sitting in a chair. Who immediately scowled and scolded, "Kitsuchi don't you know any manners? Surprising an old man like me… Ah my back."
The man feigned clutching his back as if looking up to the man hurt his back. Before he stopped, he looked at Kitsuchi seriously and said, "What's the matter?"
Kitsuchi paused and grimly said, "Father… The mission in Konoha was a complete failure."
Onoki nodded his head sadly and said, "As expected Konoha left their genius good protectors-"
Kitsuchi vigorously shook his head and said, "No. The protectors were all isolated and everything went to plan. But the boy's strength was-"
Onoki glanced up and narrowed his eyes as he exclaimed and questioned, "Are you trying to tell me a six year old. A mere six year old killed Tetsuro?"
Kitsuchi sighed and said, "Partially. Our spies in Konoha have all gone silent, it's impossible to tell the situation inside Konoha… But at the very least Tetsuro was defeated. But not by the boy alone. Rather than his protectors, another child followed him into the trap, and our operatives alongside the Kumogakure operatives decided to use the child to forcefully and rapidly end the confrontation… What we didn't expect was… That child, that girl, named Naori Uchiha, had awakened the Three Tomoe Sharingan. And because the barriers were premade to block out help, neither Kumogakure, nor our operatives were able to help Tetsuro in time. Additionally, Ishagane was forced away from the barrier as he and his partner were forced to engage his protectors."
Onoki sighed and chuckled softly, "So we shot ourselves in the foot. How pleasant. Losing all of our spies in Konoha, a fuinjutsu grandmaster, and five jonin. As expected of Darkness of the Shinobi World… It was truly a trap for us. What were Kumo's losses?"
Kitsuchi said, "Same us… though they simply lost two of their fuinjutsu masters, no grandmasters."
Onoki sighed and slumped in his chair before saying, "Don't make any major moves, just silently reinforce our borders and keep an eye on Konoha. We don't have the forces for another war. Let Konoha and Kumo fight it out and wear each other out."
Kitsuchi nodded and sighed before heading off…
~Hiruzen POV~
As the shinobi filtered out of his office, Hiruzen took his pipe and took a strong puff. As he looked down at the file that had just landed on his desk. His eyes narrowed as he thought,
Before his eyes glanced over at another file,
Hiruzen's voice rang out, "Hawk."
A shinobi landed in front of him, kneeled with an ANBU mask and Hiruzen said, "Send Ren Uchiha to the Kumogakure Battlefield. Make sure that he's sent off and increase his mission difficulty. Keep him under occasional monitoring. If his strength suddenly surges, immediately report it. Make sure no one he's close to goes to the battlefield."
Hiruzen's eyes glazed over as he sighed and thought,
Hiruzen paused and then said, "Make sure this report lands on Danzo's desk. Don't file any reports, I want this mission off record."
Hiruzen shook his head and thought,
The Hawk masked ANBU simply lowered their head and disappeared in a flicker of movement.
Hiruzen paused and sighed, ~Danzo POV~
An ANBU landed on the concrete floor of the ROOT base silently and left a scroll before disappearing. Danzo's eyes narrowed as he thought, Danzo's voice softly rang out, "Fu. Ryoma."
An orange haired man with a mask and a man with a hooded outfit and a mask stepped out of the shadows and kneeled in front of Danzo. As Danzo continued, "Your new task is to monitor and then immediately kill Ren Uchiha upon his arrival to the Kumogakure battlefront."
The pair nodded and disappeared in a flash.
Danzo's eyes narrowed as he muttered, "Why must you as his descendent be so close to so many Uchiha. Itachi, Izumi, and Naori… all three must be watched."
~Elsewhere, Unknown POV~
A white figure appeared out of the ground, it reached a masked figure and said, "Lord Madara! Lord Madara! A new Uchiha genius has appeared!"
The masked figure who was resting turned slowly and said, "What is it… Zetsu?"
The white figure repeated what many others had learned and the figure with only one eye visible through the mask muttered deeply, "Fascinating…"
Just as the masked figure was about to ponder deeply about it the white figure suddenly said, "I did good right Obito? Can you make me poop now?"
The masked figure sent a bit of a fire at the white figure, before turning away and saying, "No matter… For now… Kirigakure must be drowned in blood. They will suffer. Don't worry…I'll destroy this fake world… Soon… We'll be together again… Rin."
