~Later that same day (From the previous chapter), Soutarou POV~
A small green leaf hung off of Soutarou's forehead as if glued on with an adhesive, as he sat in a meditative position. Nono stood not too far away, holding a small black stopwatch.
'Dumb timer! Seriously though, what's up with this world's development pattern? TVs, Fridges, basically all or most modern appliances, but everyone walks everywhere and dresses like this is ancient Japan for the most part. No cars, no video games, no internet, no phone lines or legitimate long distance communication other than telegraph for some reason… though there aren't many telegraph lines other than the ones internally in Konoha and in other Hidden Villages… everything is sent by a damn pigeon or hawk. Mail works too… Man talk about skewed development…'
'Though it's honestly still weird… Back in my old world, development skewed towards military development after each World War… and same during the Cold War and then those same technologies all got adopted for public use… the biggest example of this is the internet which was made by the U.S. The Department of Defense's decentralized network for communication which was then adapted by some UK, US, and Swiss people in the 1970s… Which makes this world really weird… as none of these technologies are militarily related, yet despite this world constantly being at war it's still so developed… I bet all of this shit was stolen from the Uzumaki… and that the Uzumaki did have war developed weapons and proper technological developments and that's where Kumo's later bullshit cannons came from… So in conclusion, Uzushio is Atlantis…'
As Soutarou snorted at that thought the leaf on his forehead fell off revealing an extremely annoyed Nono, who then smacked Soutarou on the head and said, "Focus. We only have a few more hours today. You need to reach at least two hours of consistency with this exercise or I won't start teaching you any jutsu, basic or not."
Soutarou grumbled before going again, focusing as much as he could trying not to get distracted for the next two hours…
'Man I'm so ADHD brained… Two hours of torture I say, pure unadultured torture! The only saving grace is I won't have to do this dumb activity again, as my chakra control finally hit the required level to start on the academy three. Which also explains why everyone starts with these jutsu…'
'I'm guessing maybe future-Sakura's chakra control wasn't extraordinarily excellent; rather she kept up with these exercises while no one else in her class did. Then everyone else jumped into tree walking and water walking… which is crazy if you think about how fast Naruto and Sasuke did that in the future… Nono looked at me as if I was crazy when I said water walking and tree walking should only take a week.'
'Of course that was also when I didn't know that I had to do this leaf sticking activity. Nono said the next step from here is moving onto a coin, and then repeating that by using more and more coins until I can keep at least a dozen or so on random parts of my body at any time for about the same time, two hours… '
'Then from there she said water walking and tree walking would only take about a month to be perfect, but from the get go I should have some success. Though I guess in that sense if you think about it, it also shows that future-Sakura really is that more impressive as she must have only known about the leaf sticking activity I doubt she knew to take it much further than that… Ha… so that worthless girl is talented…'
Soutarou scratched his chin before a light bulb lit up in his mind, 'hmm… speaking Naruto girls… I was thinking about my goals in this world… As much as I want a waifu by my side, that also exposes a weakness which I can't afford, not to mention those girls that I'm thinking of are either younger than me or older than me. The only waifu in my generation is Izumi…'
'Which is a whole other can of worms… any Uchiha woman would be an extreme risk, not to mention even if they survive the massacre I could suddenly be on the chopping block for their Mangekyo awakening. Even if they awaken their eyes in the aftermath of the massacre it's still not worth it.'
'Any subordinates, waifus, or even an organization within Konoha will have too much monitoring, even if it's something like the ROOT, when a Hokage like Tsunade takes over it'll damage my rapport with her. No matter what my path beyond kage-level is finding and taking control of those filler techniques en masse.'
'Fortunately I still have plenty of time and I don't need to worry about any of those going out of my sight until canon starts. Which gives me about 13 maybe 14… maybe even 17 years depending on when the filler event takes place. The main point is as now I'll be walking a lonely path… unlike other beings who get reincarnated into stories, I unfortunately know of a fanfiction future, called Boruto as well…'
'Or rather I don't know anything about it other than Naruto's future son could be problematic and I don't even know if that future is real. I really hope it isn't because even reaching future Naruto's strength is a herculean task… and if those clips I saw of that Fanfiction come true then even as much as I hate that storyline I'll have to be prepared....'
'Which means… I have to block Hinata from Naruto don't I? What a pity… not only do I not get my ideal waifu, now I'm burdened with having to intervene in future events to ensure that nonsense doesn't happen. Man walking this path is going to be hard… but who am I kidding? Superpowers? The power to change the literal landscape? The power to create oceans on demand? Hehe. This little chakra control activity is my path forward and the only way I'll be able to reach the heights I want to.'
Soutarou's eyes glinted in determination and he cracked his knuckles before saying to Nono who was reading through some teaching material, "What's next? Time awaits for no one."
Nono's eyebrow raised,
Nono then said, "The next step? Alright I suppose your chakra control is good enough as is your chakra extraction… and your theory knowledge? Let's see how you did on this quiz…"
Nono then looked over the quiz that Soutarou filled in as he pondered his future direction.
Soutarou's fists clenched and he thought to himself, 'I might not be Suzuki Fujin (Naruto: The Wind Calamity) or Daiki Yurei (Naruto: Systematic Shinobi) in terms of work ethic, but I definitely have my own advantages. Such as a good starting bloodline, a vast plethora of starting jutsu, and even proper guidance to help me grow. Nor do I have to worry about Danzo or Hiruzen the way those two may have had to. So why can't I be stronger? Why can't I reach that same height as well? I have the same knowledge and I even have knowledge of what they did too. The grind, huh?'
As Nono quietly checked over his work, nodding as she went, all the while Soutarou stared and tapped his finger repeatedly on the table, before Nono frowned and held his hand in place, saying "Please stop that Soutarou-kun."
Soutarou strained a smile and stopped before he started looking around the room and tapping his knee instead.
'Man I totally have ADHD. So does that mean ADHD is a soul thing? You know since it carried over from my last life? Speaking of souls…'
'My chakra is becoming heavier in yin everyday… which is crazy because my vitality and yang are growing too, but not at the rate my yin is… Though when you think about how yin chakra and the spiritual aspect of chakra work… I guess it makes sense.'
'The more knowledge you have the more likely you are to have yin heavy chakra… which by this world's standard's having an undergraduate degree in health sciences, taking Medical Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, and Calculus should put me into a higher category as those fields actually aren't as developed as my previous world…'
'How are those related at all? That's what you, my little internal demons hearing my thoughts must be thinking. Well the more deep knowledge a person knows the heavier their spirituality is… meaning my spiritual energy by this world's standards is only under someone like Orochimaru or Tsunade…'
'So I might already have yin chakra potential to easily hit elite jonin level, combined with my senju bloodline I might even be able to overcome that chakra limitation of having too much yang chakra that most Senju have. Combined with the fact that Toka Senju is my grandmother and was a powerhouse amongst powerhouses in yin release despite being a Senju…'
'Which means my new soul and my previous soul both heavy in yin are actually out weighing my awakened senju bloodline… which is absurd.'
'Ridiculous even. Not that I'm complaining, pushing up my yang only requires massive physical activity. Meaning I just have to Might Guy my way through shit. In fact I should be begging him to take me as a disciple so I can completely balance my yin and yang.'
'Well whatever, my future chakra reserves are destined for absolute heights… But that also means my chakra control path gets harder. The saving grace here is that Tsunade, despite having reserves that should be similar to my future self, has the absolute best chakra control in the Shinobi world.'
'So if I can't figure it out, I just need to go seek her out and manipulate her. Which I should do anyways before hand, a Tsunade who starts training a few years in advance might actually be a shocker for Madara, considering a Tsunade who didn't train for more than twenty years was absolute to punch through a Susano'o and Tank blow after blow all while being the Five Kage's healer and even supercharging Onoki's Particle Style. Imagine if she trained for a few more years… she was already stronger than the Raikage who trained for forty years straight and stronger than Guy without the gates by a long shot… or what if Tsunade learned the gates with Shinno's technique…?'
Soutarou shivered for a moment before seriously thinking about it…
'Yeah that decides it. I need to manipulate the hell out of Kabuto, Pakura, Tsunade, Naruto, and Hinata… these three will help keep the future stable and once I'm able to break canon they can help me keep the world order. Naruto is obvious, Hinata just to prevent Naruto from having a possible disaster, Pakura to manage my sphere of influence outside of Konoha, and Tsunade as the older sister who'll turn me into the Prince of Konoha and be the strongest political backing I could ask for. Alright that settles my distant future goals. My immediate goal is learning the D-rank Body Flicker Technique, the E-rank Three Academy Techniques (Clone, Transformation, and Substitution), Water Nature transformation, Wind Nature transformation, and Lightning Nature transformation. Earth release can wait and so can fire release, if ever. Of all the elements I personally believe fire is the weakest, until you reach the highest level, while Water has all the benefits of Earth though it loses out on chakra requirements. Though I doubt that'll be a problem for me once I can be like Tobirama and pull water out of the atmosphere.'
"Soutarou. Earth to Soutarou. *sigh* KID!"
Soutarou jolted up.
Nono clutched her forehead and said, "You did great on the practice test, but you really have to work on your attention span and pay attention to your surroundings. If you do this on the battlefield you'll die before you even know what happened, no matter how strong you are. Let's begin, we only have one hour left for today's session."
Soutarou's eyes burned with fire and he nodded vigorously.
'This is youth! I see it now Guy-san!'
***Author's Note: You'll notice that this chapter is extremely wordy… this is again just laying the foundations of Soutarou's plans and personality. His personality will change as the story develops, but this is an important turning point in his personal motivation.
