That night, Kenji dreamed.
He dreamed of the Violet World. But it was different. More peaceful. And the monsters stood beside him. Not as enemies. As allies.
And Haru stood before him. But this time he wasn't sad. He was smiling.
"You came," Haru said.
"I don't understand," Kenji said.
"You don't need to understand. Just remember."
"I can't. I forgot everything."
Haru came closer. "You didn't forget everything. You forgot the details. But you didn't forget the feeling."
He placed his hand on Kenji's heart.
"Here. I am here. Always."
Kenji cried. "I want to remember."
"You will remember. Not now. But one day."
Haru disappeared. The monsters disappeared. The Violet World disappeared.
Kenji woke up. His face was wet with tears. He sat on his bed. He felt something. A strange feeling. A feeling that something had changed.
He went out into the street. Dawn was breaking. The sky was turning orange. And violet.
And he remembered. Not everything. But one word.
"Mut ya Maru."
He smiled. And ran to the store.
