Chapter 39 - Chapter 8: The Newcomers

"Interesting…"

The red-haired girl narrowed her eyes. She clenched her hand, immediately feeling a wave of weakness. Not only that—her magic power had been suppressed by some force… or rather, by the world itself, pressed down to the level of an ordinary mortal.

Even when she instinctively tried to spread her demonic wings, it felt difficult, because the strength of her wings couldn't even tear through her clothes.

Most importantly, she should have been in the safest place in the Demon World right now—not in this strange place.

Just a moment ago, she had been in her brother's castle, chatting with him. Her brother—the current Lucifer of the Demon World. And yet, in the blink of an eye, she'd been brought here.

This was absolutely not a simple place.

Her brother was, without question, the strongest being in the Demon World. Someone who could instantly teleport her away right in front of him was likely beyond even the God of the Bible in His prime.

So she immediately turned her gaze to the blonde girl who had appeared from the light orb along with her.

Although the blonde girl looked frightened, the red-haired girl could sense an enormous amount of magical power within her. That power seemed to have lost some kind of restraint and was now growing explosively, as if in retaliation…

Just the power she was currently giving off was already no weaker than that of some lower-class devils.

If it wasn't just her who had been suppressed, then this girl must have been suppressed as well.

"What terrifying talent… and she smells like a pure virgin, too. She looks like a pure child as well. If there's a chance, maybe I can take her in as a peerage member."

These thoughts passed through the red-haired girl's mind in an instant. To Leo and the others, she only seemed to freeze briefly before turning to face them.

"Good day to you all. My name is Rias. Though this may be abrupt, may I ask who exactly brought us here?"

As she spoke, her gaze fell on the corpses that hadn't yet disappeared. She frowned slightly—she could sense the aura of the dead, but it felt very strange. Their death aura was eerily uniform, as if from soul to body, they were all exactly the same.

"Rias… Gremory?"

Leo froze for a moment. He felt like he'd heard that name before. Something about a Boosted Gear Dragon Emperor or something like that—but honestly, he'd never actually watched it.

When he watched anime, it was stuff like Sword Art Online and Attack on Titan. He really hadn't checked out those older shows.

He only knew there was a red-haired girl with a great figure, a fanservice-heavy heroine who practically gave herself to her peerage members.

And that the series had plenty of girls you could easily end up in bed with. Beyond that, he didn't know much.

Oh, and there was also something like Campione. He'd seen it mentioned countless times in novels and was even familiar with the characters—but he'd never actually watched it either. He didn't even know what characters like Erica looked like.

"But she really does have a great body…"

Leo looked at Rias's outfit. It was clearly designed to accentuate her figure, fully showing off her excellent proportions without wasting anything.

Aside from not actually showing skin, it was basically pushed to the limit.

And the girl herself carried an aura that easily led people's thoughts astray—she looked overflowing with allure—so Leo naturally felt himself stiffen slightly, as a sign of respect for her figure and presence.

Still, he wasn't really interested. The issues with Tsunade and Kelly weren't even resolved yet.

"Oh? Do you know me?"

Rias keenly noticed Leo's reaction and looked at him with curiosity.

"Not really. I just know of someone else named Rias."

Leo shook his head. He truly didn't know her—he hadn't even read any doujins, didn't know what she looked like. That couldn't really count as knowing someone.

"Oh?"

Rias neither confirmed nor denied it.

"As for your question, we don't know either. We were all brought here suddenly as well."

Seeing that Rias seemed puzzled, Kelly waved her hand casually, indicating that she had no answer to give.

"I see."

When Kelly didn't provide the information she wanted, Rias instinctively tried to activate her magic—only to find that it wouldn't work. She clearly remembered the incantations, but it was as if she simply couldn't "recall" them.

Conceptual suppression?

She silently noted that down, then continued smiling as she spoke.

"Then, do you seniors have any advice? And you, miss with the blonde hair—you should be in the same situation as me, correct? May I ask your name…?"

The blonde girl stepped back as if startled. Then, seeing Rias's half-smiling gaze, she straightened her chest and spoke with a proud, yet still slightly shy, tone.

"My name is Lux. Well, more precisely, Luxanna Crownguard, of the Crownguard family of Demacia. Where on Runeterra is this place? Does anyone know how to get back?"

Lux?

The Lady of Luminosity? The support who builds Mejai's Soulstealer?

Once Riot's favorite daughter, now completely unloved Lux?

What kind of criteria does this messed-up world even use to pull people in?

Leo glanced at Lux again. This time, the movement was noticed—not just by the red-haired girl, but also by Tsunade and Kelly.

Actually, earlier, when Kelly and Tsunade had introduced themselves, they'd noticed this as well. It was just that Leo had looked so awful back then that they had no mood to deal with it and ignored it.

But this time was different.

The change in Leo's gaze was extremely subtle—something ordinary people would never notice.

The problem was…

Tsunade was a professional ninja. Even if intelligence wasn't her specialty, as someone who could become a Kage, she had the necessary fundamentals.

Kelly was a professional gunslinger. If she couldn't read people, she'd have died long ago.

Rias Gremory was a devil princess.

Among everyone present, only Lux failed to notice the almost imperceptible change in Leo's eyes, instead nervously looking at the others.

"Well, as far as we know, the only method so far is having sex with this guy. But we can't confirm whether it's real. We don't know any other methods. Also, I'd suggest you move together with us, because this world is seriously messed up. There are walking corpses everywhere, and the rules are definitely nothing like the worlds you're used to. Supposedly there's a corpse tide every seven days—but in reality, it comes on the sixth day, and the numbers are terrifying. Mountains and plains filled with them. Every single meter has those monsters, practically endless."

Kelly pointed casually at Leo and grinned.

"So, welcome to hell, newbies."
