Chapter 12 - Incredible Gains

Convincing the janitors proved to be very easy. They had no reason to refuse such an offer, after all, and even if they wanted to, they couldn't because of his strength.

So, Ye Jun took their cleaning tools and began to enjoy the battle. It was between two Sixth-Stage Body Strengthening Realm fighters, as they punched each other so much that it hurt just by looking at their faces.

Finally, the battle ended and both of them got out of the arena. All that was left were dirty stains of sweat, blood, saliva, and broken teeth on a slightly damaged ground.

For others, at least.

It was different for Ye Jun, who could see many Attribute Orbs glowing and slowly disappearing every second. He felt hurt seeing that, as if someone was snatching his hard-earned annual salary.

'I won't let you go!'

So, the moment both fighters got off the arena, he rushed in and began cleaning at an incredible speed.

The audience, which was ready to take a small break, was surprised to see such a janitor and stopped. They even began cheering for him, as he did a few poses while cleaning up.

[Strength +2]

[Strength +1]

[Crushing Mountain Fist +12]

[Tiger Subduing Palm +14]

Ye Jun was having too much fun, and the way he cleaned also made the audience laugh and cheer for him. At the end of his cleaning, he gave an exaggerated bow before leaving the arena.

When he reached the back corridors, he found the four janitors looking at him as if he was their messiah. Of course, he enjoyed their attention and even waved his hand.

"Boss, you're so cool!"

"Can you teach us some tricks too?"

"Yes, if we manage to excite the crowd like that during the breaks, the manager will increase our salary."

"Once that happens, I can finally grow some balls and become a Martial Artist."

"....you want to have a third ball there?"

They bombarded him with questions, as they hadn't even thought of entertaining the crowd like this.

Ye Jun smiled behind the mask and replied, "There isn't a single way to excite them. They're humans, so they'll get bored of one thing pretty soon. If I keep doing this for a month straight, they'll lose interest, so you'll have to find new ways to keep them entertained."

"Ughh! Why can't it just be one thing?"

Turning back toward the arena where another battle had started, he said, "It isn't easy to earn anything in this world. I've shown a path through which you can increase your salary, but you need to find those ways yourselves."

"Thank you, boss!"

"We'll remember this!"

"I'll definitely come up with ways through which I can clean quickly and also entertain them."

"I'll name my balls on your name!"

".... please no!"

Ye Jun just smiled and said nothing. He didn't mind helping them, but it wouldn't sustain in the long term, so it was better if they learned a trick or two of their own.

"By the way, what's the schedule of this?" Ye Jun asked.

"Boss, they're doing a tournament which will be concluded before the Martial Exchange. The arena opens twice a week..."

Hearing their schedule and everything surrounding this battle arena, Ye Jun nodded in understanding. He had to say that they worked quite efficiently and definitely knew their business.

They even put a tournament before the Martial Exchange, knowing that it would bring them a lot of money. After all, the Martial Exchange brought many people from the surrounding cities and villages.

Bright Star City was like a hub that connected many cities and also governed over them. In a way, the Martial Exchange was also to decide who controlled more of those cities and their resources.

People from all of those cities would gather in Bright Star City in hopes of getting selected as a disciple of the sects. After all, the Three Major Clans weren't the only ones participating in it.

It was just an excuse to fulfill everyone's purposes.

"I see, that's good," Ye Jun nodded. "I'm pretty sure we can see Qi Condensation Realm cultivators in the finals, right?"

"Yes, brother. There are a few of them in this tournament, so you might even see them before the finals. Of course, you might crush all of them easily."

Ye Jun gave a side glance at the fawning guy and thought, 'Not so soon, buddy. For now, I need their attributes.'

He stayed there for the rest of the day, as he enjoyed the battles and tried to see if he could defeat any of them. When those battles ended, he would jump into the arena and sweep all the attributes along with the other waste.

His exaggerated display earned laughter from the audience, as they were happy to have such entertainment in between.

By the time he finished and walked back to the Ye Manor, Ye Jun was grinning from ear to ear. His earnings in the battle arena far surpassed what he gained in the training grounds, not to mention he also got many mysterious techniques, even though many of them were useless for him.

'I will sort them out later and only keep the good ones. Well, I can also keep the ones I can gain attributes of easily.'

He even advanced to the Sixth-Stage Body Strengthening Realm, which was yet another boost in his strength and power.

This was a good find, and Ye Jun swore to return and attend the full tournament since he needed more attributes. Besides, this was the safest route for him.

'Hehe, what a productive day.'

He happily skipped over to the hill. Of course, he first made sure he left no trails behind for anyone to follow. He even changed his clothes once more before returning to the clan.

Midway, he managed to see Ye Chen in the distance along with his lackeys. His expression didn't look good. Not at all. It was as if he had eaten a fly.

Ye Jun smirked. 'Looks like I really hit the jackpot with Song Liangxue. She understood the assignment so quickly. Guess I'll need to work harder to match her, so that I don't lose her.'

He then took a detour to reach his small hut since he had no intention of getting beaten up again. Ye Chen was clearly in a bad mood, and if he showed up, there was no way the idiot young master was letting him go easily.

By the time Ye Jun reached his home, the sun had already disappeared below the horizon, and even the twilight sky was slowly gaining a hue of darkness.

Before long, the night would descend upon the world.

Just as he was going to open the wooden doors of his hut, Ye Jun noticed something amiss near the boundaries. A dagger flicked into his hand as he slowly made his way toward the boulders around the corners.

He crouched down and tried to look behind the boundary wall, only to see something which made his eyes widen.

There in the wild grass lay a woman in tattered clothes and covered in deep, bloody wounds. It was hard to tell if she was even alive at this point.

'Is this a trap? A highly likely chance.'
