Chapter 51 - Chapter 51

The total failure of his assault and the shattering of his weapon left Graphite's confidence in ruins. To a warrior forged from combat data, the sensation of powerlessness was a more agonizing poison than any virus. Rin Kuga's deliberate choice to crouch before him—not as a combatant, but as a spectator observing an insect—struck Graphite's pride with the force of a tectonic shift.

From her vantage point behind the sea rocks, Sakura Yamauchi watched the golden silhouette of the Hyper Muteki armor looming over the kneeling monster. The lack of movement confused her; the air was thick with tension, yet the expected clash had dissolved into a strange, stagnant silence.

Are they... talking? she wondered, her brow furrowing. In the middle of a life-or-death battle? She couldn't comprehend the scale of the gap between them. To her, this was a struggle for survival; to Rin, it was an interrupted dinner.

"Tch...!" Graphite spat, his teeth bared in a snarl of pure, impotent rage. He had no moves left, no hidden techniques, and certainly no strength to pierce that divine golden plating. But a Bugster born of the Dragon Knight Hunter Z data knew nothing of surrender. Even faced with a god, a warrior's blood demanded one final, defiant scream.

"HRAAAAAAH!"

With a roar that tore at his vocal cords, Graphite lunged upward from his knees. He poured every remaining kilobyte of his existence into his right fist, swinging a desperate, all-or-nothing haymaker directly at the golden faceplate of the Hyper Muteki.

BOOM!

The collision generated a thunderous roar, sending a visible shockwave rippling through the air. The sheer atmospheric pressure of the blow cracked the concrete beneath them and sent a spray of sand whistling into the wind.

"Ah!" Sakura cried out, instinctively clapping her hands over her ears. Even at a distance, the sound was deafening, a localized explosion that vibrated in her very marrow. She squeezed her eyes shut, the sheer violence of the sound making her head spin.

When she looked again, the dust was settling, but the golden warrior hadn't moved an inch.

Rin simply stood there, Graphite's fist still pressed against his visor. Slowly, Rin reached up with his right hand and wrapped his fingers around the Bugster's fist. He squeezed.

"AARRGGHH!" Graphite let out a harrowing shriek of agony as the golden gauntlet began to crush his hand, the sound of digital armor splintering like glass.

Rin rose to his full height, dragging the screaming monster up with him by its captured hand. He looked into Graphite's eyes, his voice echoing with a chilling, regal finality.

"I actually admire your spirit," Rin murmured, the cold fury in his tone replaced by a dark, clinical respect. "A warrior who refuses to bow even in the face of the end. However, you are a virus—a plague upon my territory. And a King cannot permit a plague to endure."

Without another word, Rin lashed out with a lightning-fast kick. His boot caught Graphite square in the chest, the impact sounding like a cannon blast.

CRACK-BOOM!

The Bugster was launched backward like a projectile. His body plowed into the concrete, carving a deep, jagged trench into the earth as he skidded for dozens of meters. When he finally came to a halt, he lay broken and glitching, his form flickering like a corrupted video file.

"Incredible..." Sakura whispered, her hands still trembling against her mouth. She realized then that her worry had been misplaced. Rin Kuga wasn't just strong; he was an absolute force of nature. The monster that had haunted her dreams never stood a chance.

"KIMEWAZA! HYPER CRITICAL SPARKING!"

The Gashat's electronic voice announced the inevitable. Golden energy began to spiral around Rin's right leg, condensing into high-frequency sparks of pure temporal power. He leaped into the sky, his silhouette momentarily eclipsing the setting sun.

He descended like a falling star. A blur of golden light, he struck Graphite with a relentless barrage of kicks, each impact punctuating the air with a flash of light and the word "HIT!" appearing in mid-air as reality struggled to track his speed.

Rin landed gracefully behind the monster, his back turned to the inevitable.

"Game over," he stated coldly.

A split second later, Graphite's body was engulfed by a wall of golden explosions. With one final, fading roar of defiance, the Bugster vanished into a cloud of black smoke and sparkling pixels, leaving nothing behind but the scent of ozone and charred earth.

"Phew... finished."

Rin stood up slowly, the golden armor dissolving into motes of light as he deactivated the transformation.

On the other side of the beach, Sakura Yamauchi felt a sudden, profound shift. The heavy, cold weight that had resided in her chest for months—the feeling of a dark hand squeezing her heart—simply evaporated. In its place was a sensation of warmth and lightness, as if she were bathing in a sanctuary of holy light. The parasite was gone. For the first time since her diagnosis, she could truly, deeply breathe.

Rin Kuga turned to look at her, the regal mask sliding away for just a moment to reveal the tired teenager beneath. He had reclaimed his subject's future.
