"Ah…"
The sun rose on the day anew, and Ixion quickly let his soul escape his body and checked the Grand Plaza to see that the Praxian Caravan had arrived right on time.
He sucked his soul back in and sprang out of bed with glee.
'I wonder what animals I'll find!'
Ixion hummed a tune as he got dressed in his regal attire.
While he could possess his backup body, a doll made in his likeness but unrecognizable to his true self, he decided to go as King Ixion.
His backup body was usually better, as he wouldn't be recognized and no one knew about it, but there was a reason he needed to show up as King…
He had to make sure his Origin was thoroughly destroyed. While that would undoubtedly happen as time marched on, he wanted to make absolutely sure.
Also, he needed to show the people the terrible, unintelligent tyrant that rules them in such dark times.
The seed of rebellion and hate needed to be planted and grown.
Ixion kicked open the door to his chambers, sending Sebastian and the two guards tumbling to the ground.
He passed by them while whistling to himself and made his way through the palace as the guards caught up with and followed him. His destination? The exchequer.
He needed to pick up some 'coin' before his excursion began.
Well… a little more than 'some'.
He didn't know what the hell kind of pet he was going to buy, but it was about to be the most expensive pet in history.
'Ah, what should I name it when I get it...'
Ixion walked into the exchequer with this rumination on his mind as he started grabbing unmarked gold bar after gold bar.
'Lord Richard? No, too basic.'
The chamberlain watching reeled back in horror at the sight.
"S-sir?"
'Penis Muncher? Maybe… Smalldihbigdreams? Perhaps…'
"M-m-majesty?"
'Ah, I'll wait to name it until I see and choose it. That's the only way to find a proper name!'
When Ixion kept grabbing the bars, showing he was intent on taking as much as he could hold — which was a lot given his strength — the chamberlain turned to a guard and whispered to them, in a tone Ixion shouldn't have been able to hear, but had.
"Go fetch Lady Laura, now. Hurry. Before it's too late."
But it was too late.
In Ixion's hands was 226kg of gold bars, which he struggled to push into a reinforced chest.
Then, he whistled joyously and walked by Sebastian, who had a pleading look in his eyes.
'This should fetch me the most quality pet!'
