Silence crashed down across the Primal Firmament Realm.
The Light Elves lay pinned against the ground beside Kaiser, their forms pressed flat by pressure.
Whispers started emerging from between gasping breaths, broken and desperate.
"We... we failed..."
One of the younger Gods choked on the words, his face pressed against earth.
"Mother sent us away and we couldn't even– we couldn't–"
Another voice joined, high and cracking with emotion that refused to be contained.
"What do we do now? The Seed is– he'll take it and we'll– Mother will–"
The whispers built faster, cascading over each other like waves breaking against rocks.
"There's no escape! How do you survive when a Demon Ruler decides you don't get to live?!"
"We're going to die! We're all going to–"
"I don't want to– I can't– please someone–"
Elysande's voice cut through the building panic, rough and wet with tears that ran freely down her face.
"Forgive me..."
