Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: The Wicked Woman, Selling Her Daughter to Repay Debt

The unlucky yakuza hit the ground and instantly lost consciousness. Such a difficult move left everyone present stunned, dumbfounded. Was this even something a human could do?

The yakuza there were all skilled fighters, but even if they used all their strength, they could only slap someone into stumbling. At most, knock them to the ground. To send someone flying and spinning seven hundred and twenty degrees in midair? Impossible. Too difficult.

The Akiyama group's boss swallowed hard, stammering: "Wh-who are you?" He was truly frightened. Where had this outrageous man come from?

Kael ignored him, instead turning to Mrs. Yoshida. "Mrs. Yoshida, why are you here?"

Seeing a savior, she quickly dressed and hid behind Kael. "Renjou-kun, save me. These men tricked me into owing loan sharks, now they want me to sell myself to repay the debt."

"Oh, is that so?" Kael turned to the boss.

Seeing Kael's emotionless eyes, the boss shivered. "Don't joke. I didn't trick you. You borrowed money yourself—it has nothing to do with me." Afraid of being slapped like his underling, he quickly explained.

"A few days ago, this woman came to borrow money. Our investigation showed her husband embezzled company funds to gamble on stocks, losing everything. With an audit coming, to avoid prison, he had her borrow money. I guess he planned to embezzle again later to repay. But fate turned—he made mistakes, was fired, and had no money to repay. So we demanded she sell herself. But she refused, and wanted to push her daughter to repay instead. She's not as innocent as she claims."

Kael glanced at Mrs. Yoshida. Knowing her, such outrageous behavior wasn't impossible. But she reacted like a cat with its tail stepped on, shouting: "You're lying! I never thought that. This is your scheme. How could I use my daughter to repay debt? I'm a mother. What mother would do that? You're slandering me."

She knew her survival depended on Kael. If he abandoned her, she was finished. So she had to deny everything, true or not.

The boss nearly laughed in anger. He had never seen such shamelessness. If he survived this, he would make her suffer worse than death. But first, he had to expose her.

"You're lying."

"I'm not…"

As they prepared to argue, Kael lost interest. He waved his hand, releasing mana that formed invisible fists, striking the yakuza's heads. Several, including the boss, rolled their eyes and fainted.

The room fell silent. Mrs. Yoshida, who had been ready to argue, was shocked, mouth agape.

Kael looked at her. "Tell me, did you plan to use your daughter to repay debt?" His voice carried a subtle charm.

Hearing it, Mrs. Yoshida involuntarily spoke the truth. "I didn't mean to. I had no choice. Without Saki's help, we couldn't repay such a huge debt."

Her face turned pale.

Kael's expression darkened. "So you really planned to use Yoshida-san. What a mother you are, Mrs. Yoshida."

She looked embarrassed, uneasy. "I… I didn't want to, but we… we had no money. My husband was fired. With such a debt, how could we repay?"

Kael was unmoved. "So because you couldn't repay, you planned to sell your daughter?"

She was speechless.

Kael sighed. "I should never have expected better of you. Tell me—does Yoshida-san know?"

Mrs. Yoshida shook her head. "I wouldn't dare let her know."

Kael exhaled. "Good. She must never know. Understand?"

She nodded quickly.

She glanced at the unconscious yakuza, worried. "But they won't let us go easily."

Kael's cold gaze swept over her. "Don't worry. They won't bother you again."

Her heart skipped. She guessed his intent. "You plan to kill them?"

"They're just wasting air alive," Kael said.

"You're insane. That's murder."

"Do you think I care?"

Kael sneered, casting a spell to keep himself calm, becoming emotionless, like a machine. Then he performed the Skinning Technique, peeling the yakuza's skin alive.

Though a wicked woman, Mrs. Yoshida was just a housewife. She had never seen such cruelty. When she saw their skin torn off, she fainted in terror.

Kael ignored her. After peeling their skin, he drew out their blood, carved runes into the hides, and infused them with mana. Soon, the human skins shrank to palm size.
