Chapter 129 - Chapter 129: Adelaide's Magic Power

Mr. Ollivander helped Hermione properly package her new wand and charged her seven Galleons for the purchase.

"Mr. Ollivander, may I touch this wand for a moment? You know my wand was custom-made, and I'm very curious what other wands feel like in hand."

Taking advantage of the brief moment while Ollivander turned to collect the money, Adelaide stared at the wand Hermione had just tested on the table and made her request with a face full of anticipation.

For her, even just picking up the wand and giving it a few casual waves would be enough to satisfy her longing to personally choose a wand.

Ollivander was slightly taken aback, then offered a friendly smile and gestured for her to proceed.

It was just a touch, it shouldn't cause any dam—in the very next second, Ollivander realized what a grave mistake he had made!

Adelaide joyfully picked up the wand on the table, which was said to be carefully crafted from Walnut Wood. Before she could even make a further move, a powerful and surging flood of magic wildly rushed through her slender fingers and poured into the wand in her hand.

"Crack! Crack!"

With several crisp snaps, the Walnut Wood wand actually began to emit the sound of tearing wood!

This sudden change left everyone present dumbfounded, especially Ollivander himself, who was terrified.

His face turned pale, and he let out an extremely sharp scream, then rushed forward with lightning speed, desperately wrenching the heavily damaged wand from Adelaide's grasp.

Looking at the poor Walnut Wood wand now, its surface was covered in crisscrossing cracks, as if it might shatter into countless pieces at any moment.

Adelaide apologized in panic: "I'm sorry, I will compensate for the damage, please believe me—I swear I didn't do anything!"

Ollivander's hands trembled as he carefully placed the damaged wand into its box, then waved his hand gently and reassured her, "It's not necessary, Miss Grindelwald. This wand can still be repaired."

"But I must warn you, it's best not to easily use other people's wands in the future. The magic you possess is truly unique; it seems to be constantly in a state of Magical Upheaval—perhaps only the custom-made wand for you, or the legendary elder wand, can withstand such powerful magic. Other ordinary wands simply cannot bear such a strong and unstable magical impact."

Hermione frowned, a look of deep worry on her face, and urgently pressed, "What does Magical Upheaval mean? Will it cause physical harm?"

Adelaide's heart sank, and she immediately spoke up to divert attention: "It just means the magic inside me is a little unstable, that's all. It's not a big deal; underage Wizards are prone to it to some extent."

"Harry, come quickly, it's your turn to choose a wand." After speaking, she pulled the slightly bewildered Harry over to the counter.

Harry's process of selecting a wand was also unusually difficult and winding. He tried many wands in succession, but each seemed incompatible with him, failing to unleash its intended effects.

Watching Harry's confused and frustrated expression, Ollivander fell into contemplation.

He gained some inspiration from Adelaide, who was standing nearby, and immediately pulled out a wand made of Holly Wood with a Phoenix Feather core and handed it to Harry—sure enough, this was Harry's Destined Wand.

Ollivander shouted as if he had seen a savior: "Oh, excellent! Wonderful, truly wonderful!"

"Excuse me," Harry asked, "What do you find wonderful?"

Ollivander leaned close to Harry, his pointed nose nearly touching Harry's nose tip. His sharp eyes stared intently at Harry, as if trying to pierce through his eyes and see the secrets deep within his heart.

"I remember every wand I've ever sold, Mr. Potter."

Ollivander said softly, his voice low and magnetic, "There is a marvelous Phoenix, and I have come into contact with three of its Tail Feathers, using them to create three unique wands."

"And the wand you hold is one of them. One of its brothers left a lightning scar on your forehead."

At this point, Ollivander slightly narrowed his eyes and shifted his gaze to Adelaide, who was standing beside them.

"As for its other brother, its power is the strongest of the three—the wood encasing it is extremely rare and magically potent oak! And the owner this wand serves, though very young now, is already starting to make a name for herself in the Wizarding World."

Ollivander shifted his attention back to Harry, his eyes gleaming with anticipation, "And you, Mr. Potter, as I firmly believe—the wand chooses the Wizard. I trust you will also create your own brilliance in the Wizarding World!"

Harry was still somewhat confused at this moment. He nodded subconsciously, then pulled seven glittering Galleons from his pocket and handed them to Ollivander.

Ollivander accepted the coins, bowed gracefully, and smiled as he showed them out of the shop door.

Just stepping out of the shop door, Hermione grabbed Adelaide and asked with a complicated expression, "Adelaide, the owner of Harry's other brother wand that Ollivander just mentioned—that must be you, right?"

After a moment of hesitation, Adelaide finally nodded.

Hermione couldn't help but show a hint of envy, her gaze involuntarily drawn to the exquisite wand box in Harry's hand.

But she quickly shook her head; she liked her own wand very much and didn't need to envy Harry.

It was nearing evening now. The sunset spread across the horizon like a golden scroll, painting the entire world with a warm and gentle halo.

They started on the way back. As Harry walked, he occasionally looked back, seeming a little reluctant to leave.

Adelaide suddenly spoke up and asked him, "Harry, are you free on August eleventh? If not, how about joining us for a birthday party hosted by one of your admirers?"

Harry barely thought about it and nodded without hesitation, answering, "I'm free, I'd be honored!"

For him, being able to escape the depressing house at 4 Privet Drive and having the opportunity to interact with the Wizarding World, any kind of activity was sheer bliss.

Before leaving, Hagrid treated each of them to another delicious burger, and after they finished eating, they all went home.
