Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Heart Torn Asunder

Yes—she was the most exalted princess of the God Realm.

From the moment of her birth, she possessed an innate spiritual body. By the age of four, she had already stepped into the Nascent Soul Realm; after centuries of cultivation, she had long since ascended to the rank of a God King. Anyang Motian, by contrast, stood merely at the level of a High God. The gulf between them was immeasurable.

Moreover, her imperial father was the sovereign ruler of the entire God Realm.

A thousand years ago, he had led the celestial armies to unify the once-fractured heavens, which had been divided into four realms.

As the princess of the God Realm, Bai Zhiyue had enjoyed supreme honor and unrivaled privilege from childhood to adulthood.

He—was someone she had met during one of her excursions beyond the palace.

Imperial Father… Imperial Mother…

"Hahaha—are you thinking of your father and mother?" Anyang Motian seemed to read the doubt in her eyes and burst into laughter once more. "Are you wondering why they haven't come to save you?"

"I'll tell you this: from this very day onward, the God Realm shall change hands! Those so-called immortals have long since been replaced by my own people. Outside these halls, every soul answers to me. And as for your father and mother…" A bloodthirsty smile crept across Anyang Motian's face as he savored the sight of the woman before him.

"You… what have you done to my father and mother?!" Bai Zhiyue cried out, panic surging through her.

"Want to know?" he taunted madly. "Then beg me."

"Don't bother hoping they'll come to your rescue," a mocking voice chimed in.

From the doorway plastered with crimson wedding emblems, a woman dressed in blue strode inside.

Her expression was arrogant, stripped of all the gentleness she once displayed.

In her hand was a longsword still dripping with fresh blood. Scarlet droplets stained her azure robes, blossoming like plum flowers against the blue silk.

A pale halo shimmered faintly around her—proof that she had advanced to the mid-tier of the High God realm.

"Because they've already fallen beneath the God-Slaying Sword! Hahaha…" Fei Ruo'er sheathed the bloodied blade, a smile curling at her lips. "See it? The very sword piercing your chest." She laughed wildly, heedless of the blood upon her body, then leaned languidly into Anyang Motian's cool embrace, cooing, "My lord, I've already slaughtered everyone outside. Why haven't you finished her off yet? You know…"

"Be good, Ruo'er," Anyang Motian murmured softly, sealing her lips with a kiss. "In but a moment, she will vanish from the Three Realms altogether. Then the entire God Realm will belong to us. You will be my queen—the mistress of heaven itself."

"Mmm…" Ruo'er breathed, nestling against him in satisfaction, greedily inhaling the masculine aura that clung to his body.

"Fei Ruo'er! I never imagined you would betray the God Realm—and stand beside him!" Bai Zhiyue roared, bracing herself against the massive pillar behind her, gritting her teeth against the pain.

Once, she had been the strongest among them all.

But now, the God-Slaying Sword was relentlessly draining her cultivation, leaving her utterly powerless.

She could only watch helplessly as the man and woman flaunted their intimacy before her eyes.

Waves of agony surged from her chest, threatening to steal her consciousness. She clenched her teeth and forced herself to endure.

Yet how could physical pain compare to the anguish in her heart?

That woman had been her closest sister—her confidante in all things. And yet, one by one, the people she trusted most had betrayed her… and murdered her parents.

The tears she had barely managed to restrain spilled forth once more, cascading like broken pearls onto the cold floor of the palace.

"Heh, Bai Zhiyue, spare me your hypocrisy," Fei Ruo'er sneered, swaying her hips as she approached. "All these years, you were the most gifted in the God Realm. Better than me at everything—stronger, brighter, always stealing the spotlight. Tell me, if I hadn't done something, how could I possibly repay all your 'kindness'?" She lifted Bai Zhiyue's chin, gazing down at her with cruel delight.
