Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 - Ken Tokitō: Tales of the War PT 2

(Ken Tokitō POV - Konoha Year 38 - Konoha's Amegakure Base Camp)

Snapping into action, I dodged some of the kunai with a substitution jutsu—wood replaced me, saving my position in an instant.

Kunai fell, then I caught sight of an army: Sunagakure shinobi stormed into the camp, their numbers overwhelming.

'Dammit, somehow they found the camp.'

Those of the Konohagakure shinobi who survived the rain of kunai immediately snapped into attention, and so did I.

I was one of the many who started charging back.

As the army got closer, all I could think about was Masuyo and Kai. I prayed to the sage of six paths that he was alright.

As the 2 armies clashed in a festival of Jutsu, the smell of blood and iron in the air, with smoke already rising from fire-style jutsu. Sliding under a Suna ninja'slegs, I turned around fast, slashing their back open with a kunai.

I turned around again, catching another ninja who was trying to sneak attack me.

I caught the ninja's arm mid strike, feeling a slight recoil, and dodged a kick from a third attacker trying to attack me.

I used the Suna ninja I was gripping as a human shield as the other one attacking threw rapid kicks.

Then I stabbed the human shield through the back, trying to make it also stab the other attacker.

It didn't work, and I growled in frustration and threw the human shield aside and went on the defensive.

The man in front of me was fast in his strikes, but I was faster. I palmed his stomach, and he retched. I don't even blink as I kick his neck. His head twisted in a way a neck was not supposed to bend.

My boots were not steel-tipped for nothing.

I see one of my comrades getting attacked by multiple other ninja, and I jump in, sneak-attacking one of them with a kunai.

I slice one of the Suna ninja's necks open with a kunai; my grip was pretty weak, so it only left a shallow cut.

One of them tries to attack me from behind, as another also comes from in front. I use the substitution jutsu to switch my places with the one behind me, so when he stabs forward, he stabs the one that was in front of me, as the one that was in front of me stabs the one that was behind me.

I don't even take a pause, and help the Konoha shinobi from the ground.

"Go get a medic," I order and weave hand-signs.

Snake, Ram, Monkey, Boar, Horse, Tiger, I flip in the air and roar "Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu."

A large fireball came out of my mouth and incinerated a large chunk of unsuspecting Suna Ninja.

I pant as I feel the strain of the chakra, but I take a soldier pill and continue on.

(Orochimaru POV - Konoha Year 38 - Battlefield)

'Shit shit shit,' that was the only thought going through my head as the kunai rained down.

I didn't take into account a sneak attack. I immediately replaced my position with a wooden log, dodging the rain of kunai.

I lead the army against the Suna Ninja, seeing the third Kazekage among them. I gritted my teeth in frustration, 'shit, this is not good.'

'Dammit, I'm probably the only one on this whole battlefield who could handle a Kage-level opponent' and summon Manda.

"Orochimaru! This better be worth it! I demand at least 200 people for this!"

"Of course, Manda, but we are fighting the third Kazekage, so we need to go all out."

Manda just scoffed but bared his fangs as we clashed with a giant sand barrier.

I made the snake seal "Sen'ei Jashu," and many snakes came out of my mouth as I jumped at the Third Kazekage, already weaving hand signs.

I roar "Mandara no Jin," and a giant wave of snakes comes out of my mouth. I can see the Third Kazekage slightly widening his eyes, but blocking the wave of snakes with a shield of golden sand.

(Ken Tokitō's POV - Konoha Year 38 - Battlefield)

Dodging a puppet from a Suna shinobi, I kicked it apart with the steel tip of my boot.

Getting close to the puppeteer and palming his hand, I kicked his stomach and he wretched over. I palm his neck, snapping it like a twig.

I twirled around and saw an old lady. Using 10 puppets and slicing apart the Konoha shinobi.

I recognized her easily from the bingo book, Chiyo of the Sand, probably a kage-level opponent who could easily kill me, or I could catch her off guard, and get rid of a giant problem.

'If I hesitate even once, I don't go home, I won't be able to keep my promise.'

I charged in from behind her and accidentally stepped on a puddle, which made a splash sound, and Chiyo turned around. She weaved a puppet to attack me, but I replaced myself with a wooden log quickly.

I keep appearing around her quickly, and she attacks me with a puppet, only for me to replace myself with a wooden log each time. After one more time replacing myself with a log, I stop and make a serpent hand sign with a grin.

"Doton: Yasei no Dōmu!"

Yasei no Dōmu was a jutsu I personally made when studying under my jonin sensei. It used the 20 logs I replaced myself with in rapid succession and filled the gap with diamond from deep in the ground. Reinforced with chakra.

It was almost impossible to break out of it if you didn't use a fire jutsu.

As the dome closed around her, it cut off the chakra strings to her puppets, freeing the ninja they were attacking, making them fall to the ground limply.

I immediately ate my last soldier pill and used the Great Fireball jutsu to incinerate the puppets.

(Chiyo's POV - Sunagakure Year 37 - Inside the Dome)

I tried everything in this damn dome, any wind jutsu I could use, surprisingly, this god damn brat actually had guts. I felt my chakra disconnect from my puppets as the dome closed. I sighed.

I tried to think it over. Most of the places in the dome were made of wood, the rest was filled in with diamond, so fire jutsu should work. I used a Great Fireball jutsu quickly, and the dome burned to ashes.

As the dome disappeared, I saw my puppets, now mostly burned and unusable, and I glared at the youngster, but I was already out of chakra, but I'd remember his face.

"Retreat!" I called out on the battlefield

OK! And that is a wrap for chapter 7! Now a few things first, translations

Doton: Yasei no Dōmu - Earth style: Dome of the Wild

Mandara no Jin - Formation of Ten Thousand Snakes

Sen'ei Jashu - Hidden Shadow Snake Hands

Katon: Gōkakyū no Jutsu - Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique

2 - So, I want your opinions on this: should I keep referring to the Jutsu in Japanese and add the translations in the A/N? Or should I just do it in English? Personally, I like the feel of the Japanese.

3 - To some, Ken might seem overpowered, but 1 He used soldier pills for most of the battle, 2 Chiyo had chakra exhaustion, 3 Chiyo never had an experience with Dome of the Wild, and 4 Ken is a master of the substitution technique.

Please leave some constructive criticism in the comments, opinions, and anything else, I will definitely take it into account.
