After confirming it mentally, Hiro lowered his gaze to the small, fiery-red card in his hand, an indescribable sense of strangeness rising in his heart.

Clearly, this card came from the System.

So why was the pattern on it the Fairy Tail guild emblem?

Did the System predict this outcome in advance, or did even a tiny card possess some kind of auto-recognition feature?

Because the distance was only seven or eight meters, August naturally noticed Hiro's movements and the card in his hand. His brows knit slightly.

After the card rejected me, what's the point of taking it out now?

An attack-type item?

Or some kind of special ability?

Despite his confusion, magic that could "traverse time" was far too rare and far too significant. Even with the hostility from the devil and angel behind him, August had no intention of giving up.

Opening his mouth, he continued his attempt to persuade.

"I believe we can still-"

However, before August could finish his sentence-before he could bring out his trump-card forbidden magic as leverage-he suddenly realized something was wrong.

Light, magic, the atmosphere, even space itself in front of him began to distort unnaturally.

"Hm!"

His eyes widened.

Instantly, August understood.

The card in Hiro's hand was gone.

And he knew exactly who was responsible for what was happening to him now.

Heh. First I sent him away. Now it's my turn.

How the tables have turned.

With a bitter smile, August shook his head. After confirming that the "Information Body" he had stored beforehand was unaffected, he had no intention of resisting.

He closed his eyes and calmly accepted the impact of Hiro's "magic."

A brief sensation of weightlessness passed.

When August opened his eyes again, the sight before him struck like lightning.

Disbelief.

Joy.

And a rare shock that he could not suppress.

"I'm back... I'm back!"

He was standing in the corridor leading outside the Imperial Council Hall.

The very place where he had been before being sent to another world.

Reaching out, he touched a nearby stone pillar. The cold sensation against his fingertips made his breathing tremble.

Two clear lines of tears rolled down from his clouded eyes without restraint.

In the end, I never even learned that young man's name...

But still.

Thank you.

Thank you very much.

Thank you, Your Excellency, for sending me home. Back to this world. Back to His Majesty's side-before my life reached its end.

"Haha..."

His right hand clenched tightly around his staff. His left palm and forehead pressed against the stone pillar.

August's laughter grew from a quiet chuckle into something louder, rougher.

Wild.

Completely unlike his usual self.

"Haha!!"

Lost in that joy, he didn't notice the two figures approaching from the distance.

The first to arrive was a shirtless youth with short brownish-yellow hair.

When he saw August, surprise flashed across his face-only to turn into a sneer when he noticed the tear stains.

"It's been a while, and the first thing you do when you show up is cry and laugh in His Majesty's palace."

"August, has your brain finally rotted from old age?"

"If that's the case, why don't you hand over your position in the Twelve Shields to someone else?"

Not a shred of respect could be found in his tone.

"Ajeel."

A woman's voice followed shortly after.

"You should show some respect when speaking to Lord August."

Brandish walked up beside him, glancing at the arrogant youth with a frown.

She had emerald-green hair with straight bangs, a blue-purple cross accessory on her head, and white cross earrings. A yellow chain collar rested against her neck.

Her figure was excellent. Her outfit was bold.

Brownish-yellow clothes trimmed with blue-purple feathers, and the emblem of the Alvarez Empire etched clearly on her right thigh.

Though not yet twenty, Brandish was already one of the Spriggan 12.

Her magic power ranked among the highest on the entire continent.

And based on her recent record, the title "Nation-Destroyer" had already begun circulating.

"Respect?"

Ajeel snorted.

"The only one I respect is His Majesty the Emperor."

"August might be stronger than me, but he's still missing something."

He glanced at the white-haired old man who had just straightened himself, dismissing Brandish's words without hesitation.

"It's been a while."

August used magic to tidy his appearance. In an instant, he returned to his dignified, composed "Magic King" state.

His gaze swept over the two of them.

"Ajeel. Brandish."

He greeted them plainly.

"How long was I gone?"

"Ha! You don't even know how long you were gone?"

Ignoring Ajeel's shouting, Brandish looked at August and answered calmly.

"Three years."

"Three years..."

August repeated softly.

"So it was only three years."

Maintaining his composure, he let out a quiet sigh of relief.

If it had been thirty years, everything might have been too late.

"Has His Majesty returned?"

"Not yet."

Brandish shook her head.

On the other side.

Seeing Hiro send August away, Sirzechs-who had assumed he was preventing August from escaping-showed a trace of confusion.

He clearly didn't understand Hiro's intent.

"Hiro..."

"Anyway."

Hiro spoke casually.

"A human mage was never going to get along with those Old Maou faction guys."

"More importantly, that old man never considered those three as comrades in the first place."

"If you wanted to extract information about the Khaos Brigade from him, you picked the wrong target."

"I sealed him in a place extremely far from the Three Realms."

"The chance of escaping through magic is zero."

Looking at the puzzled Sirzechs, Hiro continued.

"What about the three on your side and Michael's side?"

"Dead?"

"Or did they escape?"

At his question, both Sirzechs and Michael showed expressions of embarrassment.

The answer was obvious.
