Chapter 71 - Time, Revolve!

Returning to the now completely unrecognizable schoolyard, Hiro looked at the enormous "light source" emitting blinding radiance in the distance and the tiny, blurry figure at its center.

He raised an eyebrow.

Just a Kokabiel, yet his reaction speed is pretty fast.

As expected of a fallen angel who survived the Great War of the Three Factions.

"Hahahaha!"

From within the massive light, Kokabiel's slightly wheezing voice rang out.

"Originally, I planned to save some magic power to deal with Sirzechs, Serafall, Michael, and the others later. But now-there's no need!"

As his voice echoed, the light surrounding him grew even more intense, completely engulfing his already indistinct figure.

What remained was nothing but an unbearably bright sphere.

Even Rias, Akeno, Lint Sellzen, and the others hundreds of meters away could clearly sense the overwhelming destructive magic power pouring out of it.

It was practically announcing its danger without any attempt at concealment.

Enough to wipe out the entire small town.

Even though Sona Sitri's servants were maintaining a barrier at the outskirts of Kuoh Academy, at this scale, whether it reduced the damage by a little or not hardly mattered.

Destroying two hundred percent of the town.

Destroying one hundred percent.

There was no real difference.

"Hiro, stop him now! Otherwise, the whole town will be destroyed!!"

Rias, unable to interfere directly with the battlefield between Hiro and Kokabiel, could only shout from afar, anxiety and panic written clearly across her face.

She could already picture Saitama Prefecture being instantly erased once Kokabiel's magic power erupted.

Feeling Kokabiel's actions, Lint Sellzen's light-red eyes darkened.

Clang.

She knocked Kiba Yuuto away with her Holy Sword and ran toward the center of Kokabiel's surging magic power, as if she'd lost her mind.

"Kokabiel-sama! This isn't what we agreed on! Didn't you say you would only kill devil-related personnel and wouldn't harm the innocent?!"

She ran while crying, tears streaming down her face, completely ignoring Kiba Yuuto behind her, who was gripping a demonic sword with a fierce expression.

Watching Lint Sellzen's reaction, combined with her words, Hiro-encased in crimson armor-quietly activated a certain ability while thinking inwardly.

As expected.

Fallen angels really are all black-hearted.

Above, there's Governor Azazel exploiting child labor.

Below, there are cadres deceiving ignorant girls.

"Not harm the innocent?"

Though his figure couldn't be seen, Kokabiel's indifferent voice still echoed from within the sphere of light.

"I'm a fallen angel. To actually believe a fallen angel's verbal promise... Lint Sellzen, your naivety really did save me a lot of trouble."

His tone shifted, filled with amusement.

"But now that my goal has been achieved, whether it's you or Valper doesn't matter anymore. So many humans will die along with you-at least the road won't be lonely. Hahahaha!"

Judging by how clearly he spoke, the jaw Hiro had knocked out of place earlier had already been restored.

Whether by a fallen angel's physical resilience or healing magic, it was hard to say.

"Hiro!"

Seeing that Hiro still hadn't moved, Rias's voice grew even more anxious.

After hesitating for a moment, she made the same decision as Lint Sellzen and flew toward him, urgency written all over her face.

"Stop Kokabiel! Otherwise, the entire town will disappear!"

"I know my limits, Rias. You don't need to come over."

Hiro waved a hand as he looked at her approaching figure, calmly reassuring her.

Hearing this, the unease on Rias's face didn't completely fade, but she still stopped and followed his instructions.

After a brief pause, she flew back to Akeno's side.

"Rias, in a situation like this, there's no use for us high-class devils to panic," Akeno said softly. "Right now, the only thing we can do is believe that Hiro-kun has his own plan."

"I know, but..."

Still uneasy, Rias stared at the distant scene, her lips slightly parted.

Before she could finish her sentence, her eyes widened.

Behind Hiro, an enormous figure had appeared at some point.

"That... what is that? Another one of Hiro's servants?"

"Who knows," Akeno replied. "But that's probably the real reason Hiro-kun can stay this calm."

As she spoke, Akeno gazed at the massive figure, a strange light flowing through her eyes.

A lamia.

A water spirit with the upper body of a beautiful woman, a lower body formed of a blue-white giant serpent, and countless snake-like hairs.

Hiro-kun...

Just how many more surprises are you planning to show us?

And that way of standing alone, shouldering everything by himself...

It's really captivating.

Because her attention was fixed on Hiro, Rias didn't notice the unusual flush spreading across Akeno's cheeks.

Clack.

Amid the sound of the Red Dragon Emperor's armor colliding, Hiro stepped forward, stopping directly before the still-expanding sphere of light.

"Useless! Useless! Useless!"

Kokabiel's crazed laughter echoed.

"At this point, no matter what you do, it's meaningless! Even if you interrupt me now, my magic power will erupt ahead of time! This town will still be destroyed! You, Rias Gremory, Sona Sitri outside-none of you will escape! Hahahaha!"

"Why... why would you do this..."

Nearby, Lint Sellzen murmured in disbelief.

Her grip weakened, and the Holy Sword slipped from her hand, falling to the ground below.

"You seem to think you've already won."

Hiro glanced briefly at the crying girl, then looked toward Kokabiel's position within his perception and spoke calmly.

Behind him, the water spirit extended both palms toward the sphere of light.

"That's right! I've won! Facing this situation, what can you do? Can that servant behind you erase my magic power?"

"No," Hiro replied evenly. "It can't erase it."

Then he paused.

"But isn't it enough to just restore it?"

Sadalmelik-Albus made contact with Kokabiel's magic power.

Hiro's magic power surged.

Everything was in place.

Since obtaining Sadalmelik-Albus, this was the first time he released her full power.

"Time," Hiro said quietly.

"Revolve."

As his words fell, the endlessly expanding sphere of light suddenly froze-

Then rapidly began to shrink.
