With Rias's arrangements finished, Hiro, accompanied by Koneko and Asia, left the old school building.
"Hiro-kun, what should I bring for the training camp tomorrow?"
Hearing Asia's cautious question, Hiro thought for a moment and replied casually,
"Just like during the school trip, hmm..."
Then he froze.
In the original timeline, Asia had stayed in Kuoh Town for a long time before her Sacred Gear was extracted. She had been reincarnated and joined Kuoh Academy, so she would know about school trips. But now... due to either the butterfly effect or the world merging, she had only arrived in Japan two days ago.
How would she know about school trips?
"Never mind. I'll help you pack tonight. I'll also check what you need to buy, since you just got here. We should get everything before we leave-it won't be easy to find supplies in that remote place."
The training camp wasn't in the Underworld, but it was a very remote deep mountain forest. Even the nearest village was a fair distance away.
"Hentai Nanamiya, are you living with Asia?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, Koneko, on the other side of Asia, spoke up. A faint suspicion gleamed in her eyes.
"Living together... or something..." Asia murmured, blushing, but didn't finish her sentence.
"If you count landlord and tenant as living together, then Asia and I do."
Hiro's tone was flat as he met Koneko's bright yellow eyes.
He glanced at Asia after, expecting her to look upset. But she wasn't. She was just blushing intensely, as if she hadn't heard him at all.
Am I overthinking it? Or is Asia just... thinking too little?
Hiro muttered inwardly.
They hadn't gone far when a familiar, servant-like voice called from the side-
"Hiro-kun!"
It was Asuna, the girl who sat next to him in class, whose voice he had heard countless times.
Turning, he saw her jogging toward him, a faintly anxious expression on her face.
"What's wrong? You look flustered."
Asuna grabbed his left arm, moving with a practiced ease. Hiro raised an eyebrow.
"Asuna... -san?"
Seeing her skillful movements, Asia's surprise was clear. Beside her, Koneko had a "seen-it-all-before" expression, clearly familiar with this behavior.
"Sorry, I can't explain fully, but... Hiro-kun, I'll borrow you for a bit."
She didn't answer his question. Instead, she apologized to Asia and Koneko, then tugged him along toward the school gate.
Hiro looked back at Asia, who appeared surprised.
"Asia, you and Koneko go back first. Oh, and tell Aunt Sakuya she doesn't need to prepare dinner for me."
"Oh... okay."
As the two figures moved away, a faint mix of envy and admiration crossed Asia's face.
When will I have the courage to take the initiative like Asuna-san?
You pervert. When did I allow you to call me by my first name?
Koneko muttered inwardly, expressionless.
Following Asuna, Hiro stopped in the parking area in front of the school gate. She pulled him into a black private car parked there.
Bang!
Slamming the door shut, she called to the driver,
"Drive."
"Yes."
Ahem~ ahem~
"Sorry, Hiro-kun. I just pulled you away without explaining."
Releasing his arm, Asuna's face held genuine apologies.
"I don't mind."
Hiro waved indifferently, a hint of a smile on his face, and asked directly,
"Can you tell me why you're flustered now? Something that could make a lady like you lose composure... it wouldn't be your family forcing you into a marriage interview, would it~~"
He paused, watching Asuna's increasing blush and apologetic expression.
No way... I said that casually and guessed right? Am I that good...
"The matter is exactly as you guessed, Hiro-kun. My mother wants me to go on a blind date with an older man I don't know. She already booked a restaurant in Tokyo's 20th ward and wants me to go straight after school."
Asuna bit her lower lip. Her complex expression made it difficult for Hiro, a few dozen centimeters away, to understand her.
"I called my father, and... he first asked if I noticed anything unusual at school. After I said 'no,' he said: if I don't want to decide my marriage partner through a blind date, I should bring you along when I go to my mother. I asked him what he meant, but he hung up. So... I'm sorry, Hiro-kun."
"..."
Okay, got it.
So Yuuki Shouzou thinks I didn't notice anything at Kuoh Academy, so he agreed to the blind date proposal.
But why drag me into it? Just because I 'barely escaped death' from the ghouls last time?
And the 20th ward... isn't that Yoshimura's family's area?
Leaning back against the soft seat, Hiro rubbed his temples, a slight headache forming.
"I understand the reason now. I'll help you handle this blind date, but..."
"But?" Asuna's eyes brightened, hoping.
"But tell your mother to change the location. It shouldn't be a problem, right? It's still in the 20th ward."
"If it's just that, it's fine." Asuna thought for two seconds before nodding.
"Change it to where?"
"A place called Anteiku Coffee Shop."
