Dormitory.
Kisaragi Akira led Yukino Yukinoshita from the teaching building toward the dormitory area.
As they moved, Akira activated Eclipse Thunder Form – Northern Azure Pool.
Dense, black lightning—heavy with Yin energy—spread outward from his body, gradually enveloping the surrounding area.
These dark lightning currents greedily devoured the life force of every being within range—except the caster.
This was a Level 3 Eclipse Thunder Form, powerful enough to drain an ordinary person dry in moments.
The dark water-lightning spread like a domain.
Any zombie that wandered too close was instantly killed.
From time to time, Akira also released Palm Thunder, black lightning tearing through clusters of enemies and clearing large areas with ease.
Yukino helped as well.
Though most of her contributions were finishing blows, every strike counted.
By the time they reached the dormitory building, even the fact that it was a girls' dorm no longer mattered.
There simply wasn't time to worry about things like that.
Using the wide-area spread of the water-based lightning mines, Akira swiftly cleared the entire building.
The main entrance was locked and barricaded with several heavy cabinets.
This was done for one reason only—
To ensure a peaceful night's sleep.
With Physical Enhancement Level 2, moving those cabinets was effortless.
They returned to the relatively clean and tidy room Yukino had discovered earlier.
Inside, two beds had already been prepared.
Using her Survival Points, Yukino exchanged supplies for food and water.
The dormitory still had functioning electricity and running water.
They sealed the windows and balcony door with blankets to prevent light from leaking outside.
The lights were turned on.
And then—
There was Yukino, freshly out of the shower.
She looked dazzling.
For a moment, it was hard to believe they were in a post-apocalyptic survival game.
The atmosphere felt more like a quiet home.
"You're back," Yukino said, stepping forward.
The scene was almost like a young wife welcoming her husband home.
Akira nodded calmly.
"This entire floor has been cleared," he said. "Both the front and back entrances are sealed. As long as we lock the doors, we can sleep safely tonight."
"That's… impressive, Akira-kun."
"It's nothing."
Akira sat down on one of the beds and laid out the food he'd brought.
"Eat quickly, then get some rest. We'll explore more tomorrow."
He didn't overthink it.
Bread, eggs, sausage, and water—simple but sufficient.
As he ate, Akira casually opened the Doomsday Chat Group.
A place Yukino couldn't see.
March 7th:"Oh dear… I wonder how Akira's doing. We haven't talked in a while. I hope nothing bad happened to him."
Aqua:"Why don't you just @ him directly? This guy really doesn't realize when someone's worried about him."
Exusiai:"Haha, maybe Akira's just busy with something."
Kisaragi Akira:"Indeed. We killed quite a few zombies today."
March 7th:"Zombies?! Are they the kind that infect you if they bite?"
Kisaragi Akira:"Yes. That exact kind. This apocalyptic game is about surviving seven days in a world overrun by zombies."
March 7th:"Wow! That actually sounds kind of cool!"
Saeko Busujima:"That doesn't sound cool at all. It sounds extremely dangerous. Is Yukino alright?"
Kisaragi Akira:"She's fine. Small groups of zombies aren't a problem for me."
Aqua:"Hmph. Mere undead. I could purify them with a flick of my wrist."
Akira rolled his eyes and replied lazily.
Kisaragi Akira:"Of course, Aqua is the strongest. By the way—are you sleeping in a stable tonight?"
Aqua:"Huh?! This goddess sleeps in stables? What nonsense are you spouting?!"
Kisaragi Akira:"Isn't that usually how it goes?"
He was genuinely confused. Logically speaking, Aqua should be sleeping in a stable.
Aqua:"Hmph! You underestimate me! I casually showed off my divine abilities, landed a well-paid job, and now I'm staying in a high-class hotel!"
Kisaragi Akira:"And what about the person who brought you to that world?"
Aqua:"Huh? You still dare mention that bastard?! Who knows which city he's rotting in now!"
"…."
Akira understood immediately.
Aqua's situation clearly differed from the anime he remembered.
He was glad he hadn't said anything unnecessary.
And even more glad he hadn't pretended to be some all-knowing prophet.
Say too much, and you make mistakes.
Reality often diverges sharply from expectation.
You have to see things with your own eyes.
Exusiai:"Um… what exactly are zombies? Are they scary?"
March 7th:"Huh? You really don't know at all. Exusiai, let me explain properly."
March 7th:"So basically… and then… and that's how it works."
Exusiai:"Eek! That's horrifying! That sounds even scarier than Oripathy!"
In terms of transmissibility, the zombie virus was indeed far worse.
Saeko Busujima:"By the way, Akira-kun, look—there seems to be a new function in the chat group."
Kisaragi Akira:"Oh? Let me check."
Curious, Akira opened the system interface.
His eyes lit up.
Three new features had been unlocked.
Group Red Envelopes.Group Screenshots.Group Albums.
The Red Envelope function allowed users to place Doomsday Points—or even items—into an envelope and send them to others.
The Screenshot function allowed images to be captured and shared directly from within the chat group—or from anything within the user's field of vision.
The Group Album collected all images that had already been shared.
