Chapter 6 - Qi

"Tch, you're the only one in this group that has the chance of fulfilling our dreams of becoming a long lasting being. Don't give up hope so quickly." Jack said, grumbling as he shook the drink in his hand.

Oscar didn't respond to Jack's words. He didn't understand the pressure of a Foundation Realm expert.

To be honest, he'd rather stay as an Qi cultivator for life, as becoming a Foundation Realm expert only attracts eyes from those higher up, and he couldn't possibly resist the king.

He didn't want to bear the wrath of the celestial bodies in the sky.

Oscar understood that their perspectives are screwed in their own ways. Jack wanted his son to surpass him in cultivation and learn a cultivation martial art, and Old Shao wanted to keep his face for his wife's side of the family in hopes of gaining benefits from them.

It wouldn't be long before their group has to disassemble, and it will be because of internal interest.

"Enough with the sour talk. Let's drink until we get drunk today." Oscar said, lifting his cup.

"Hahaha! True!" Jack and Old Shao laughed and clinked their cups together, causing alcohol to spill everywhere.

Shu Feng listened for a while, but when he heard that they're going to stop talking about their hunts, he lost interest immediately.

Finish off this shitty drink, and go back to the dojo and begin cultivating. I also need to note that I shouldn't come out without my sword or spear, as people here carry weapons on them all the time.

Shu Feng's eyes glanced at a few people in the room who still had their weapons on them. Clearly the laws here allowed weapons and what not to be on your body whenever.

Shu Feng raised his right arm, and dumped the rest of the drink in his mouth and swallowed, and left the tavern in a hurry.

When he left, he could barely manage his face from changing as the horrendous taste lingered in his mouth.

Never buy a drink here again! Shu Feng screamed in his heart as he walked away and started heading towards his dojo, or now Martial Arts Hall.

Once he reached the entrance of his Martial Arts Hall, he went straight to the very back room where there was a bathroom, and began vomiting out his drink.

Never… Ever… Again..!

Shu Feng vomited for a minute or two, and finally came out of the bathroom with a fresh mint in his mouth.

How nice of the system. Having mints in the bathroom for anyone who isn't feeling well.

Well, If Shu Feng knew that the mints were for those who had injuries and had a blood taste in their mouth, he'd probably feel speechless.

He had no idea of teaching his students so harshly.

Not to mention that you could have hidden injuries by training like that, but it is a world of fantasy, so anything is possible.

After clearing up his bad stomach and the taste in his mouth, he began to recall how Cai Yuan meditated and how the Qi came to his body.

Sigh, I really want to begin meditation, but I still feel ill after drinking that. I guess I'll have to force it.

Shu Feng found a mat and sat down on it cross legged. He then went through all the notes in his head that he learnt in teacher mode, and began trying to absorb Qi in the air.

The air was cool, with a slight scent of old carving wood lingered in the air. Shu Feng tried to reach out to the air and breathe it in, but when he tried, it didn't enter his body like he wanted.

Shu Feng opened his eyes and frowned.

I just need to concentrate. I have the theoreticals down, I just need time.

Shu Feng took in a deep breath and closed his eyes and began trying to absorb Qi for the second time.

Failed-

Failed…

Failed..!

Come on, it's my tenth attempt now!

Twenty…

Thirty…

Time passed by, and after an hour and a half, Shu Feng opened his eyes with a smile.

Only sixty attempts to successfully absorb Qi! I think that's pretty good for someone who just learnt about Qi for no longer than three to four hours.

Shu Feng got up from his mat and stretched out his body, feeling great. It was like he got a sugar rush, but it was a permanent rush.

Truly wonderful. So is this what it feels like to take the step to the path of extraordinary? Though the system probably expects more out of me since it allows me to enter higher dimensional worlds.

Shu Feng started to feel curious on how the power systems in those worlds worked.

He knew that he was lucky to get a world with immortal cultivation. Well, it was a very weak and rough concept of immortal cultivation. He could also live the dream of many archaeologists by seeing and even fighting dinosaurs!

A very strange world I have entered. The stars give humans strength to break through the Golden Core Realm. Dinosaurs haven't gone extinct yet and fight against cultivators for territory. The power system is very vague and all over the place. I have a lot of work to do this month.

Shu Feng walked to his weapons on the wall and picked one up, and when he did, he felt a subtle connection with it.

Can I- recall it?

Shu Feng froze as his hand grabbed the scabbard of the sword. It was like an instinct, and felt that he could use Qi to resummon the weapon.

All weapons belonging to the system can be recalled by the host. Therefore it's impossible to steal them.

Shu Feng's eyes lit up hearing that. An anti theft system will come in handy when he isn't around.

And he also has infinite Qi now in the dojo, meaning it would cost him nothing to get them back.

Great, that solves a massive problem that might happen in the future.
