Chapter 2 - Back to Earth

Fwoooosh!

"Urgh!"

When the time finished ticking, a strong force sucked Shen in as he vanished from his spot. The force was so strong that even he, as someone who reached the pinnacle of martial arts couldn't even dream of resisting.

"Ding, Error!"

Error!

The world barrier has detected an anomaly in sector 1, region 14...

The world order is classified as an SSS gate and is preparing to mobilize all available forces...

World order found no strong humans nearby, calling a commander of the highest order to head to sector 1, region 14 at this moment.

"What are these continuous messages? Aghhh, I can't focus on what's going on." Shen felt his head about to burst from all of the buzzing inside his brain.

"Ding, Host timeline has been altered due to mistakes of the cosmic world. Detected earth's barrier attempt that is set to destroy the host."

"Ding, safety measures need to be taken. Communication is being established to comminucate host's situation."

"Looking for ways to save the host."

"3 ways found... initiating the safest method...The system has deemed it necessary to inform the world barrier of the host's trial that took longer than usual."

"Reply is underway...Reply is halfway through...50%...80%...99%..."

- Host's situation informed. The host situation is under revision

- Understanding of the world barrier was confirmed. Beginning teleportation towards host's earth...rewards being calculated separately.

- Fail. Fail.

- The duration of the host was too long, with a strength that ranked among the weakest on the sanctuary leaderboard. Complete calculation of the rewards will take longer than usual.

- Applying a time-frame.

***

Target been identified... The threat in Sector 1, Region 14, is gone...All previous processes will be taken back...World order will now return to the frontlines...Maintaining a sanctuary level commander in Sector 1 in case of further issues due to time and space cutting...

Shen frowned when he heard all of these voices continuously ringing in his ears. However, his thoughts did not last long.

'Ah…'

The world seemed to distort as he lost consciousness.

***

"Urgghhh…!"

Shen felt an intense pain weighing on his body. He was struggling to even move a finger.

After coming back to his senses, Shen opened his eyes while groaning.

'Where am I?'

The first thing he saw was a dense forest. The light shining through the thick bushes tickled Shen's cheeks.

"Fuu…" Shen stood up while taking a deep breath.

The pain that was spreading through his body made him feel dizzy.

'First, I need to check my status.'

He needed to know what had happened to his body.

Riiing!

[Opening the Status Window.]

"Eh?"

The moment he thought that he should check his current status, a blue window opened in front of his eyes. Shen narrowed his eyes to stare at the unexpected blue status window in front of him.

[Status Window]

[Player Name]: Shen Lost

[Strength Level]: (Awakening Test)

Awakening Test Trait: Rewards Calculations (Rank of the Rewards: ???) *The host will have to be patient before he receives his rewards.

Strength: 8

Dexterity: 9

Health: 7

Mana: 0

Internal Qi (Unique Stat): 12

Intelligence: 8

Wisdom: 7

"… What the hell is this?"

The status window reminded him of the games that he used to play a long time ago, before falling into the Murim World.

'My Murim system looked entirely different from this,' Shen thought.

Although he had a system, it was entirely based on quests and rewards, with strength that purely belonged to him that was unique and insanely strange, and powerful for the Murim people. In fact, it's all thanks to that system giving him that power that he advanced to become the Heavenly Demon Emperor.

Shen frowned at the phenomenon he couldn't get a grasp on.

'So basically, most of the power I had been gone since I was inside the awakening test?' Grabbing his chin, Shen recalled a few sentences he heard a few seconds after his transportation back to earth,' So that's what the system meant, saying cause of danger or whatever, with rewards taking longer than usual.'

Still...

The system power he had was the only power he'd had when he had fallen into the Murim, which he considered the entirety of his power.

The moment Shen read that the strength he had accumulated for a thousand years had been gone, he started to feel anxious.

He indeed wished to go back to earth and flee from the dragons, but coming back to earth when the gates just emerged with no power was never in his plans!

He thought he would be coming like the novels, create the strongest guild and become the ruler of earth as he bathed in glory, monoplozing all of the ressources to himself in order to grow stronger.

Yet now...

"Fuu." Shen took a deep breath and tried to calm down.

Being anxious because something unexpected happened would only make things worse.

'Calm down.'

The most important thing was checking out his current status. Shen tried to bring out the strength of his Thousand Fists, which is basically one of his strongest Power Orders apart from the Element one, and deeply frowned.

'It isn't moving.'

It should be known that his internal qi could easily support such an attack a thousand times, yet now...

He didn't feel anything!

To be more precise, he could only move a tiny bit of his internal qi by will, which was almost nothing, considering the limitless amount of internal qi he had prior to this event.

"At this rate, I'll have trouble getting back all of my power," Shen mumbled in frustration, his face turning uglier by the second. He knew that his journey would have to start anew and that the little internal qi he had was merely leftovers.

Many doubts arose in Shen's mind, especially about his safety.

Unfortunately, there was no one to answer his questions; he could only find the answer to everything by himself.

Shen quickly collected his thoughts and started walking in this dimly lit forest which barely any light escape through the gap of canapets of the gigantic trees above his head and slipped through.

Soon, several wandering entities appeared before Shen's eyes' Are these zombies?'

Seeing this scene, he couldn't help but rub his eyes as he took another look. That process continued for several times before he nodded his head, a smile appearing on his face,' Indeed, zombies, meaning I'm on the right earth where gates just appeared.'

These zombies were wearing dirty and tattered straps, one of them was wearing a yellow helmet on its head, which looked contrasting to the nature of the creature.

Shen didn't think much of it and charged towards the zombie wearing the yellow helmet.

Crack-

A forward dash plus an arm twist, Shen simply snapped the opponent's neck.

Looking at the head of the zombie that rolled to his feet like a worn football, Shen froze for a moment.

He looked at his hands, feeling bewildered.

"Even with my powers gone… so strong?"

Shen recalled the chain of movements he had just performed and nodded his head.

He had a thousand years of fighting experience and was already used to fighting countless times in real battles; it was almost instinctive, and he just did it subconsciously.

That kind of precision and ruthlessness was a realm that mere zombies would never stand a chance against him.

In a matter of seconds, he finished the rest of the zombies effortlessly.

However, right as he was in the midst of doing so, multiple people's chatterings and strange noises were heard several meters behind him. Curious, he couldn't help but ignore the broken bodies with a dimly lit core shining inside of it and went to check the source of the noise.

'Please, be weaklings, little humans of earth, I need to know this isn't the murim anymore. Gates, more and more gates,' Shen was inwardly praying that even his tears started flowing down his cheek,' Just no dragons, gates and no dragons is what I dream about.'
