Chapter 1 - My Brother's Experience

Note: This story is based on true ghostly incidents experienced by people I know. In this book, I will describe each ghostly incident through short stories within each chapter.

A haunted house, two kilometers from our house, is constantly haunted. It's located right on the roadside, and numerous accidents have occurred there. In our local language, the place is called Bombay Gaddi. Bombay means Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, and Gaddi means pit. Gaddi is a word from the Oraon tribe. The story of Bombay Gaddi begins with a young girl from our area who goes to work in Mumbai and becomes pregnant. Returning home, she is admitted to a hospital during her pregnancy and dies. In India, a virgin's pregnancy is a significant event. Her parents refused to accept her body. There was a forest between her parents' home and the hospital. They buried her in this forest. After the girl was buried in the forest, numerous ghostly incidents began to occur. Therefore, the place is called Bombay Gaddi.

My own elder brother went to a liquor shop at a place called Tapkara via Bombay Gaddi on his motorcycle with his friend. It was night while returning. When they reached Bombay Gaddi, my brother saw his girlfriend and she was going towards the forest. Stopping the bike, my brother also followed her. My brother's friend caught hold of my brother and shook him hard and asked him where are you going? Then my brother looked ahead and there was no one. Then they immediately came home from that place.

If that boy had not stopped my brother, what would have happened that day?
