The Edict

[This chapter serves as a compendium of knowledge about the world of the novel "Do You Feel Déjà Vu?". The information represents the memories of the deceased Siddhartha Shah, now initialized as Arthur Dantes. As such, it may contain spoilers for the original timeline.]

- General Information:

❖ The Narrative Loop

The world of Ouroboros is trapped in a perpetual cycle of time. The loop is triggered whenever the "Tragedy" is fulfilled, specifically upon the death of either the Male Lead (Kaelen) or the Female Lead (Elena). When this occurs, the world resets to Chapter 1. Only the World Will retains memory of these cycles; the inhabitants merely feel a sense of "Déjà Vu."

❖ The Empire of Ouroboros

A vast, industrial gothic empire shrouded in eternal twilight. The sky is choked with smog from factories fueled by distilled blood plasma. It is a society strictly divided by species, where vampires rule as nobility and humans serve as the labor force or cattle.

❖ The Paradox

A phenomenon that occurs when an event contradicts the "Script" of the world. Usually, the World Will corrects these errors by forcing the plot back on track (e.g., a sudden accident killing a disruptor). However, sufficiently powerful anomalies can exploit these Paradoxes to alter reality.

❖ The Glitch

An entity or object that possesses Zero Narrative Weight. Because they do not exist in the original "Script," the World Will cannot predict their actions or enforce destiny upon them. Arthur Dantes is currently the only known Glitch.

- Common Terminology:

❖ Sanguimancy (Blood Arts)

The magic system of the vampire nobility. It relies on the purity of one's lineage. Sanguimancy allows for physical enhancement, shadow manipulation, and mental domination. It is instinctive and requires no study.

❖ Thaumaturgy (Alchemy)

The magic system of humanity. Since humans lack magical blood, they use "Logic" to twist reality. Thaumaturgy involves inscribing mathematical laws (Runes) onto objects or brewing chemical compounds to mimic supernatural effects. unlike Sanguimancy, it requires preparation and intellect.

❖ Narrative Weight

A metaphysical value assigned to every being in the world. Main Characters have high Narrative Weight (Plot Armor), making them nearly impossible to kill before the climax. Mob characters (like the original Arthur Dantes) have negligible weight and can die easily.

❖ The Monocle

A catalyst tool used by Arthur Dantes. While originally a simple alchemic diagnostic tool, in Arthur's hands, it serves as a lens to perceive "Conceptual Flaws" in spells, people, and the story itself.(Amon is here guys, hehe)

❖ Vampire Ranks

A measure of power based on the purity of a vampire's bloodline. There are seven recognized Ranks of Nobility:

● Fledgling (Newborn, unstable)

● Knight (Soldier class)

● Baron (Minor nobility)

● Viscount (City ruler)

● Duke (Regional ruler, capable of Hemomancy)

● Prince (Royal blood, capable of Domination)

● Progenitor (Mythical status, origin of the bloodlines)

❖ Human Tiers

A measure of threat based on a human's mastery of Thaumaturgy and Logic. Since humans cannot evolve biologically, they are ranked by their danger level to vampires:

● Civilian (Cattle)

● Apprentice (Basic alchemy)

● Scholar (Combat-ready alchemist)

● Professor (Master of Runes)

● Sage (Capable of threatening a Duke)

● Saint of Logic (Mythical status, theoretical only)

- Abilities and Anomalies:

❖ Lineage

The innate potential passed down through vampire families. Specific families possess specific affinities (e.g., The Vermillion Family possesses the lineage of "Solar Blood," granting resistance to fire).

❖ Resonance

The clash between Sanguimancy (Magic) and Thaumaturgy (Logic). When a powerful spell meets a powerful logical counter-measure, reality fractures.

❖ The User's Ability: "The Error"

The unique power awakened by Arthur Dantes upon transmigration. It is not a spell, but a conceptual authority derived from his status as an Outsider.

● Theft: The ability to steal abstract concepts (distance, heat, friction, senses) rather than just physical objects.

● Deceit: The ability to create "Reflections" or illusions that possess temporary solidity.

● Parasitism: The ability to plant "shards" of consciousness into others via reflections to gather information or exert control.
