Chapter 7 - Secrets of Foods

Chapter 8: The Village of the Forgotten

Matt asked if everything was ready. The villagers shouted, "Yes!"

He took 16 steaks from his inventory and placed them on the weak bridges above the moat. He waited for the scent of the meat to spread. Then, he used a basic wind skill through the Databook called Wind Blast.

The wind carried the smell deep into the woods. Soon, the wolves caught the scent and ran toward the village. While the wolves were busy eating the meat, Matt used the Databook to make sure no more wolves were left in the forest.

Once he was sure, they cut the ropes holding the bridges. The wolves fell into the moats filled with wood. Matt used three Fireballs to light the wood.

Matt's unique energy was now exhausted. Every wolf in the moat was dead.

Matt felt relieved. The village was finally safe. He could now go to the town to get the items needed for the village. He told the villagers not to let any strangers inside. Then, he started walking toward the town. On the way, he thought about his biggest problem: he had no normal skills. He could learn basic sword, bow, or spear skills in towns. However, elemental and potion skills were only available in the big city. Matt had 13 Skill Points because he had not spent any yet.

When he arrived in town, he began buying items to help the village grow. He bought seeds, pulleys, strong ropes, axes, swords, and bows. He wanted the village to become self-sufficient so they could produce their own items. Matt was careful to avoid other players. From a distance, he saw a few players wearing armor and carrying good weapons. He realized that his own equipment was not good enough yet. Before leaving the town, he saw the innkeeper from before. They looked at each other, and Matt nodded before heading back to the village.

Ten days later.

Everyone in the village was working hard. Some were working in the new fields next to the village. Others were training with swords and bows. Matt was using a basic construction skill called Wall Reinforcement to make the fences and house walls stronger.

[ SYSTEM MESSAGE ]

Title Quest Line Completed.

Success Rate: 100%

Rewards: Secret Farm unlocked

A farm suddenly appeared next to the village fields. A glowing energy shield protected the entire area. At first, Matt felt a bit disappointed because he did not receive gold coins or a powerful combat skill. However, he knew that Title quest rewards were very special. This farm had to be important.

Matt walked into the farm. The main building was empty, except for a single book resting on a table. He opened the book, and a screen appeared:

[ GUIDE OF THE SECRET FARM ]

The best place in Dimension 1 for growing plants and raising animals.

- Growth Speed: +200% (May vary by product).

- Universal Support: Any seed or animal can be raised here.

- Restricted Access: Only beings chosen by the Farm Master can enter.

- Optimal Conditions: Provides the perfect environment for every product.

- Farming Skill Tree: Unique progression path for agriculture.

After reading this, Matt began to form a new plan. He left the farm and went back to his small hut. He put his bed, chair, and table into his inventory. Then, he gathered the villagers in the square. He told them that if there was an attack or an emergency, they must hide inside the farm. He explained that the energy shield only protected the farm area, not the whole village.

Chapter 9: The Nature of Reality

Matt placed the furniture from his inventory into the farm house. After setting everything up, he began his journey toward the big city. It had been a long time since he last thought about going there.

While walking, he realized that he had finished all of his starter steaks. This made him think about the nature of this world. He knew that NPCs, monsters, and objects were just energy turned into matter.

"Is the food fake too?" Matt wondered.

He thought about the butchers in the small towns. Where did their meat, eggs, fruits, and wheat come from? If everything in this dimension was created by the System, he needed to understand how resources were actually made.

To find an answer to his question, Matt opened the Databook and searched for "cows." Various types of cows appeared on the screen, each with a different price. He saw that they were sold within the city. Although there were many of them, their numbers were not infinite, and not all of them were for sale. Matt realized this was a system measure to protect the players and the economy. Satisfied with this information, he closed the Databook and continued his journey.

When he finally arrived in the city, he looked around in surprise. The streets were filled with players. They were wearing different types of armor and carrying various weapons. Some were entering shops while others chatted with each other in groups. Matt did not stop to talk; he went straight to the large library.

Inside the library, he purchased every available skill tree book.

[ GOLD COST: 1500 ]

He noticed that the skill trees currently only showed Rank 2 abilities. The higher ranks were still locked and hidden. Until now, Matt had only used Rank 1 skills through the power of his Databook. Since he had never spent any of his points, he still had 13 Skill Points ready to be used.Max walked out libary.

-----------------RoyalFarm---------------------------

Matt went to the sales section of the Royal Farm. This place sold every kind of food like meat, milk, vegetables, fruit, eggs, and spices. They also sold live animals. Matt knew that these animals were real and limited in number. He decided to buy the highest quality animals and food. He believed that prices would increase a lot in the future. Also, he wanted to secure his food supply in this strange world.

He bought two pairs of each animal and a small amount of seeds. Even though he did not buy many items, the total price was very high. [ COST: 2500 GOLD COINS ]. He also had to pay an extra fee for the transfer to his village. [ COST: 500 GOLD COINS ]. Matt had almost no gold coins left now.

He remembered something from the real world. In the real world, rich people forced others to eat artificial meat while using the environment as an excuse. Matt thought to himself:

"Even here, we can eat real meat. The people who thought we were not worthy of real meat in the real world are the true villains."

Before leaving for his village, Matt decided to explore the city. He watched the other players. Some had opened their own shops, and others were returning from monster hunting quests. Everyone was finally accepting the reality of this world and doing their best to survive. After finishing his walk, Matt began his journey back to the village.
