Chapter 4 - The New Chapter: The Snakes' Den and the Curse of the Missing Heads

Rouya stormed out of that filthy warehouse, her eyes flashing with a rage that could rival the sparks of hell. She muttered to herself, "Why did they stop me? They should have let me beat him until he forgot his own name! I haven't finished grinding his bones yet." She continued with biting sarcasm, "He's absolute trash... claiming he committed those atrocities just because he went through 'bad circumstances'? To hell with him, and to hell with whoever raised him! They're all just a bunch of obsessed lunatics."

Meanwhile, Officer Kai emerged, dragging the handcuffed madman toward the police car. Rouya glared at them with a gaze so sharp she looked ready to devour them. She snapped at Kai, "Why didn't you punch him? Wasn't your mother a victim of scum like this? You should have crushed him!"

Kai sighed, speaking calmly to absorb her anger. "I know how you feel, but this isn't the right way. He has to go through the courts. They'll know how to punish him for his heinous acts. It's not up to you to decide his fate."

Rouya let out a cold, mocking laugh. "I might not agree with you, but that court you're talking about is a failure. He'll rot in a comfortable cell, living a life of luxury after his serpentine crimes. I would have preferred to reset his rotten brain myself... back to the state it was in before he was even born!"

Kai gave up on trying to convince her and got into his car. "Should I give you a ride home?" he asked. She replied curtly, "No thanks, I know my way." As the car drove off, Marcus stepped out from the shadows of the warehouse, his annoying cheerfulness intact. "As usual, you just love punching and hitting things!"

She turned on him with a spark of fury. "What's it to you? And how do you even know me? You know nothing about me, so don't stick your cursed nose in my business!" Marcus chuckled mischievously. "How about you work with me to uncover some dark mysteries?"

She answered with pure contempt, "No thanks, I don't want to hang out with psychos." But Marcus played his trump card: "Your salary will be double what you get from those novels you publish." Rouya froze, her financial curiosity piqued. "Double? How much exactly?" He replied with a winning smile, "Five times!"

She snapped back immediately, "Fine, I'm in! But on one condition... don't annoy me with the nonsense and stupidity swirling in that tiny brain of yours." Marcus laughed, asking, "And how do you know what goes on in people's minds?" She screamed as she walked away, "I'm leaving! Get out of my face!"

The Next Day: The Walking Virus and the Cursed Case

Rouya returned to her room and flopped onto her bed, mumbling, "Finally, I'm rid of that annoying fly." But the next morning, she was standing in front of the office of the man she called "The Walking Virus," Marcus. She kicked the door open and shouted, "I'm here for work! What's the job? Tell me, hurry up!"

Marcus smiled coldly. "First, say good morning. Second, don't kick the door. Third, at least act like a lady!"

She stared at him with a deadpan expression. "Stop barking like a dog and tell me what we're doing."

Marcus sighed and pulled out an old file. "There are mysterious cases no one could solve because of their complexity. You can solve them using your ability to see things." She sneered, "So, you want to exploit me in an 'excellent' way?" He looked up at her shamelessly. "Yes, you're right."

She whispered to herself, turning her head in annoyance, "This is all I needed... a barking dog exploiting people."

He handed her the file, his tone suddenly serious. "This case involves a village abandoned for years. Strangely, a group of young people went to explore the nearby mountains and vanished completely. The police found no trace of them."

Rouya said with a mix of excitement and caution, "Then let's go!"

Rouya sped off on her jet-black motorcycle, while Marcus followed in his car, after a loud argument where she refused to ride with him because his car "looked like a pile of rusty bolts."

The Burnt Village: Death's Hide-and-Seek

At the village outskirts, they found Kai. He asked in surprise, "You're here too, Mr. Marcus?"

Rouya interrupted sharply, "Why do you call him Mr. Marcus? Call him 'Mr. Fly' instead!" She left them behind to search for clues.

Kai whispered to Marcus, "What did you do to her? She's like a rabid dog!" Marcus agreed, watching her go. "Yeah, especially with that fierce look."

As Rouya wandered through the charred, deserted alleys, a strange sound began to ring in her ears—creepy children's songs. She followed the sound until she reached a spot covered in dried blood, with tiny bloody footprints leading toward the forest.

The tracks stopped abruptly in front of a grim, ancient well. Meanwhile, Marcus and Kai were searching for her, calling her name in vain.

Rouya stood face-to-face with a little girl by the well. The girl pointed and said, "Follow me..."

Rouya laughed with bitter irony. "No way! I'm not crazy enough to follow you, sweetie. Look at your face... Oh, right, you don't even have a face!"

Suddenly, a terrifying scream erupted from the bottom of the well. Rouya bolted back toward the village, chased by an army of headless children screaming in raspy voices, "Come... play hide-and-seek with us!"

Rouya yelled as she ran, "Leave me alone! I haven't played since I was seven! Get lost!" Then she screamed at the top of her lungs, "Marcus, you idiot! Get over here and help me!"

One of the children leaped from a tree and grabbed her clothes, sending her tumbling hard onto the ground, gasping as her hand was cut. Seeing them closing in, she pivoted toward the river, screaming for Marcus and Kai.

The Transparent Wall and Death Rituals

Kai and Marcus tried to enter the forest but slammed into an invisible, transparent wall. Kai tried to break it but failed. Marcus pulled out a strange scroll and a prayer rope, cut his finger to write in blood on the parchment, and tossed it into the air while chanting ancient words. A portal opened in the wall, and they dashed through before it snapped shut.

Kai saw the headless children and panicked. "What am I seeing? Is this a dream? Impossible!" He saw others with burnt, punctured faces.

Marcus said grimly, "I think they want to use you as a sacrifice!" He tried to run toward Rouya, but the children split up to block his path.

Rouya shouted, "They're protecting the well!" She leaped skillfully from one tree to another, twisting and maneuvering like a dark circus act.

Marcus mocked her while fighting, "First time I've seen a human monkey!"

She replied while flying through the air, "I'll get to you and show you what a real monkey looks like, you moron!"

As they ran together, the ground suddenly split open beneath their feet. They plummeted into a strange corridor decorated with demonic red symbols.

Marcus laughed in despair. "These are true death rituals... they used children's blood to activate this, and the curse fell upon them!"

A scream echoed from the end of the hall, and suddenly, hellish flames surged from behind them. Kai yelled, "Run faster! Death is behind us!"

They burst into a massive circular chamber that looked like a dark dungeon. Marcus gasped for air, "It's the graveyard..."

At that moment, a massive red eye opened in the ceiling, watching them.

Rouya said, bracing herself for the final fight, "We've walked right into the snakes' den with our own two feet!"
