Chapter 27 - Undercurrent in daily life, the difference between talents and aptitudes

An unparalleled first class talent after a thousand years!

The face of the clan leader and two other clan elders who wore wide black luxurious robes and golden crown darkened. Meanwhile the face of a middle aged man in blue robe who was hugging a long sword while leaning on a giant pillar nonchalantly brightened, a wide grinning smile on his face.

'They say the fruits won't fall far from the tree, the tiger father won't give birth to a dog son.'

Behind these four people were other elders who shared the same expression as their leaders.

The elders might have stood together in a large group in the eyes of the youths with some small distance between them, but those amongst the youths who were aware of the clan's inner politics knew it wasn't the case.

If one looks carefully, one will notice that there are four groups of elders in the entire clan higher-ups. The largest group was naturally the clan leader's group. To the left and right are the two prominent clan elders' group, they are the Huai family group and the Gui family group, led by Shen Huai Xu and Shen Gui Heng respectively.

Meanwhile, the middle aged man in blue robe who was hugging a long sword while leaning on a nearby giant pillar with his group of elders stood quite far away in a corner from the three groups.

This was the newly established factions, composing of young newly risen elders or old and middle aged elders who were dissatisfied with the three factions.

Most of the clansmen and youths were aware of this factions whether through rumors or gossip or through their parents and family.

This faction is the neutral faction, also known as the Jin faction, led by Shen Jin.

Although this faction imwas new, neither of the three old factions dare to underestimated it. There were even signs of cooperation so 'the youngster does not steps on the elder's head'.

But in truth, this cooperation went nowhere until now.

The three factions had too many conflicts and the division of benefits we're not clear, they could not band together to ostracized this new factions wantonly either.

Perhaps if the clan leader took the lead with his overwhelming might, they could do it. After all, in this entire region, he was one of the only two rank six Meng cultivators.

It did not even have to be the clan leader himself. Either of the two leading elders of the old factions could suppress this new faction if they put their mind to it.

But neither of them wanted to do that.

The reason was surprisingly, because of the clan leader. The clan leader has been growing too fast, too strong. He was one of the only three rank six Meng cultivators to be ever existed in the clan, his might overwhelming.

To top it off, he was also a skilled politician, a cunning old fox, his influence massive.

Although he looked middle age, he was actually almost a hundred years olds, being from the same generation as the two leading old elders.

All of these factors combined made him a formidable political enemy. The two factions had no choice but to join force to suppress him.

The clan leader was aware of this yet couldn't do anything. They did not break the rules nor did they crossed his bottom lines, he could only endure in frustration and wait for an opportunity.

This new faction was one such opportunity he has been waiting for.

The blue robe elder with a sword in arms thought mockingly to himself:

'Precisely because of these two factions, the clan leader did not made his move against us after all these. Those two factions were too busy checking each other while jointly suppressing the clan leader, they didn't have the time nor the manpower to provoke us at all.'

Towards this, the elder in blue robe, Shen Yan, couldn't help but praised in his mind, 'What a brilliant strategy, what an insight! Shen Jin, It was the right choice to follow you. Who could ever thought we would actually go this and be able to stand side by with the two old factions with our heads held high.'

As his gaze shifted to the youth in the middle of the blue grass field who was the center of attention, he couldn't help but grinned ear to ear.

First class talent!

The 'true' first class talent after a thousand years!

What is a first class talent?

A person who possessed first grade aptitude, but was disrespectful towards elders and younglings or possess a dull mind with poor comprehension skills could only be considered a second class talent.

A first class talent must both possess a sharp mind and first grade cultivation talent. Whether it be their comprehension skills or cunnings, books smart or streets smart, they are all first class talent.

Above first class is special class talent.

These people possessed unique talents, whether it be insane comprehension skills that can understand complex arts with just a glance, inborn strength that rival an ox, or incomprehensible abilities, utterly mysterious talent that has never appeared before in history of humanity.

Possessing either one of these unique talents made one a special class talent regardless of aptitude.

Of course, not all special class talents are stronger than first class talent. There were many special class talents who are stronger than first class, true, but there were also many special class talents who are weaker than even fourth grade aptitudes Meng cultivators.

Being special class does not made one automatically weak or strong. They are special individuals that required special cares.

The so called 'special class' can be either unbelievably strong or unbelievably weak, there was no telling which is which.

History showed that some special class with the exact same talente can be specialized in different fields and produced completely different value.

Each one was unique in their own ways, there was no way to calculate how they will turn out.

Thus, they were named 'special class'. These people need different cares and special attention compared to others. They can do whatever they want, learning in completely different ways compared to normal people. Or they must be reigned in and suppress. Or else the consequences would be unthinkable.

'This Shen Tian Yi did not disappointed expectations. In fact, he completely surpassed it by leaps and bounds. Although he did not possess unique talents such as 'Heavenly Qi innate heart' nor the relatively more common but still rare 'Inborn strength to move mountains and seas', 'Double layer Core Essence' and 'Three fold Core Essence regeneration'.'

'But his aptitude alone surpassed the likes of 'Strenght to rival an ox', 'Speed as fast as a hound', 'Agility that of a Leopard' and others common ones by a large margin'

The clan leader thought to himself while looking at elder Shen Gui Heng, his gaze no longer hidden and discreet.

Elder Shen Gui Heng noticed his gaze and matched him with his own, both of them seems to communicated without speaking.

At this moment, in their mind there was only one sentence.

'Shen Gui Da doesn't compare!'

Who was Shen Gui Da? He was a rank three middle stage Meng cultivator, the clan's most recent special class talent in a hundred year with his innate abilities being 'Strenght to rival a bear'. He was huge since birth, causing the childbirth process to be extremely difficult, his mother facing risk of death during childbirth.

Fortunately, the clan has specialized healing Meng cultivators and the mother's life was saved in time.

This matter caused quite a commotion, even the high and mighty Shen Gui Heng paid a visit.

Upon seeing the child, Shen Gui Heng couldn't help but exclaimed, 'what a huge child!'. The father became ecstatic upon seeing his family head paid a visit. He dropped to his knees, instantly kowtow and beseech him to name his child.

Shen Gui Heng felt quite pleased and named the child with one character that he felt most suitable, Da.

Thus the child was named Shen Gui Da.

'Shen Gui Da doesn't compared to me, he was not qualify.'

At this moment, Tian Yi also thought of Shen Gui Da too.

He was actively comparing himself to the geniuses of the past generations in terms of aptitudes and talents. Shen Gui Da just happened to be the first that came to mind since he left quite the impression.

This person was quite famous.

In his childhood, he was bigger than children his age, couldn't control his strength well and often seriously injured his playmates accidentally. Coupled with his short temper, no one wanted to play with him.

He was isolated and resentful, even his father didn't know how to teach him. His parents could certainly punish him the traditional way, with force.

But they doted on him too much and always used soft tactics, it backfired.

Shen Gui Da grew up spoiled and reckless, knowing that his parents wouldn't punish him for it. He secretly disdained and thought of his parents as weak-willed people that can be easily pushed around and stepped on.

One day, when he was twelve, freshly graduated from the preparatory school, he disappeared for days only to come back later with wounds all over his body, blood soaked on him from head to toes.
