Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Cold Entrance and Warm Greetings

Akira stood before the full-length mirror in his study, adjusting the collar of his high-necked dark blue tunic.

Over the past three days, he had thrown himself into constant chakra refinement, systematically converting every new trickle of base energy his body produced into his freshly synthesized Ice Release chakra. What had initially required intense concentration and complex double-helix visualization in his dantian had now seamlessly integrated into his body's natural physiology. His chakra pathways converted energy into pale-white, ice-attributed chakra as effortlessly as breathing.

Looking at his reflection, Akira couldn't help but admire the physical transformation that had accompanied the change.

The traditional Hyūga training regimen typically built a solid, grounded, slightly rigid posture designed for Gentle Fist close-quarters combat. Now, however, the constant circulation of sub-zero chakra had subtly sculpted his frame. His posture appeared effortlessly fluid and slim, and his fair skin held a striking, unblemished clarity. Coupled with a faint, crisp chill that naturally lingered around his presence, he possessed an undeniable, refined elegance.

Akira struck a dramatic pose in the mirror, flicking his dark bangs out of his eyes with a smirk. "Move over, Uchiha clan... there's a new cool guy in Konoha, and I don't even need angsty trauma to look this good."

Checking his internal status, Akira was even more thrilled by his numerical gains. While the initial fusion process had compressed his raw volume down to one-third, his relentless refinement over the past three days had already expanded his total capacity by a full twenty percent. Moreover, because of the staggering density and purity of his pale-white chakra, even releasing a small thread of it emitted a heavy, suffocating pressure that far outclassed standard, unrefined blue chakra.

Realizing what time it was, Akira quickly checked his pouch. Today was Sunday—the day he had promised to visit Uchiha Izumi's home for dinner.

Stepping out into the backyard, Akira fed Snowy a fresh plate of chilled meat and tossed Po a bundle of sweet bamboo shoots.

"Alright, listen up, you two," Akira instructed, pointing a warning finger at the fox and panda cub. "I'm heading out for dinner. No tearing up the fruit trees, no freezing the hallway, and definitely no digging up my herb garden while I'm gone."

Snowy gave a cheerful yip before returning to her meal, while Po simply rolled onto his back, lazily munching on bamboo.

Leaving his villa compound, Akira stopped by a popular bakery in the central district to pick up a high-grade gift box of colorful Rainbow Dango—a classic, crowd-pleasing sweet—before making his way toward the outskirts of the village.

Since the Nine-Tails disaster, the Leaf leadership had forcibly relocated the Uchiha clan to a secluded compound along the banks of the Naka River, isolated on the very edge of the village perimeter.

As Akira approached the main iron archway leading into the Uchiha district, his Byakugan subtly picked up the heavy security presence. Two Uchiha guards in full police force armor stood at the checkpoint, their two-tomoe Sharingan actively spinning as they scrutinized every civilian and trader entering or leaving the zone.

"Tense atmosphere..." Akira observed quietly, keeping his hands in his pockets as he strolled forward. "Danzō's Anbu watchtowers on the outside, Uchiha police guards on the inside. A complete pressure cooker."

"Akira! Over here!"

A bright, cheerful voice broke his thoughts. Standing just inside the archway, waving her hand enthusiastically, was Izumi. She wore a simple dark red tunic and looked genuinely thrilled that he had actually shown up.

"Hey, Izumi," Akira greeted with a relaxed smile as he walked over. "Hope I didn't keep you waiting."

"Not at all! Come on, my house isn't far from here," she said happily, turning to lead the way down the quiet residential streets of the new Uchiha district.

As they walked side-by-side, Izumi occasionally stole quick, curious glances at him. She noticed that Akira seemed different today—his movements were smooth and graceful, and standing near him felt like sitting next to a refreshing, cool breeze on a hot summer afternoon.

After a short walk, they arrived at a cozy, traditional wooden house tucked away in a quiet alley. Izumi slid open the front door, stepping inside first.

"Mom! I brought Akira!"

A gentle, middle-aged woman with warm brown eyes and dark hair tied back in a loose ponytail stepped out from the kitchen, wiping her hands on an apron. It was Hazuki Mori—a civilian member of the Uchiha household, and coincidentally, the very same woman Akira had quietly pulled from the rubble during the Nine-Tails rampage a year prior.

Mori offered a warm, welcoming smile, bowing politely. "Welcome to our home, Akira. It's a pleasure to finally meet you properly."

"Thank you for having me, Mrs. Mori," Akira replied politely, stepping into the entryway and offering the neatly wrapped box in his hands. "A small token of appreciation for inviting me over."

"Oh, you didn't have to bring anything!" Mori said, though her smile widened at his manners. She gestured to her daughter, who was eyeing the sweet shop's famous logo on the wrapper. "Izumi, take the gift and put it on the table."

"Okay!" Izumi took the box, a slight blush dusting her cheeks as her fingers brushed against Akira's cool hand.

Mori led Akira into the main sitting room, setting down a cup of warm tea for him before sitting down across the low table. "Izumi told me about what happened at the Academy during the graduation ceremony. I wanted to apologize if Itachi's sudden challenge caused any trouble for you with your clan."

"Not at all," Akira chuckled lightly, taking a small sip of tea. "It was just a quick sparring match. No harm done."

Mori looked at the young boy with a gentle, motherly gaze. "I heard from Izumi that you live in a private estate near the commercial area... do your parents live there with you?"

Akira set his teacup down, his tone calm, steady, and devoid of any self-pity. "No, Mrs. Mori. My parents passed away during the Third Shinobi World War."

Mori's eyes softened with immediate sympathy, realizing she had touched on a sensitive topic. Not wanting to make the mood heavy or awkward for their young guest, she quickly smiled and clapped her hands together.

"I see... you must be a very independent young man," Mori said warmly, standing up from her seat. "Izumi, why don't you show Akira around the house and the backyard garden while I finish up in the kitchen? Dinner will be ready in just a few minutes."

"Okay, Mom!" Izumi bounded to her feet, turning to Akira with bright eyes. "Come on, Akira! I'll show you my favorite spot in the courtyard!"

Akira smiled, standing up to follow her, his pale eyes casually taking note of the house's layout as he stepped deeper into the Uchiha home.
