Logan
I still couldn't believe this.
I was deep in the woods, tracking Bella, after she had just survived an assassin attack.
An assassin attack.
And now she was running.
My chest felt tight as I pushed branches aside and moved faster between the trees. Leaves brushed against my arms, and thorns scraped my skin, but I barely felt any of it. All I could think about was Bella.
Jack growled low inside me.
He wasn't angry.
He was worried.
Mate gone. Find her.
"I know, Jack," I whispered under my breath. "I'm trying."
"Take it easy, Alpha Logan," Spike said beside me. His voice sounded stiff and respectful because our men were close behind us. "We are going to find her."
I nodded, even though my heart was beating too fast.
If the men weren't here, Spike would already be shouting at me. He would tell me I should have tied Bella to the bed if that was what it took to keep her safe.
I ran a hand through my wet hair.
