Reno leaned in, his thumb gently caressing Safea's cheek. His gaze was fixed directly on her eyes. "You are very beautiful, even without makeup. Do you realize that?"
"Mama said I am not allowed to wear makeup," Safea said softly, looking down in embarrassment. "She said it could be dangerous. I don't know what kind of danger she meant."
Reno held back a laugh, the corners of his lips curling up in amusement. He tilted Safea's chin up so she would look at him again.
"Do you really not know what danger she meant?" Reno asked, his voice filled with amusement at having discovered such rare innocence.
Safea simply shook her head.
Reno gave a wicked smile. "The danger is that you can tempt men. And right now, I am tempted."
Suddenly, Reno leaned forward and pressed his lips against hers without warning.
