Chapter 12 - Gaslighting Woolie

{Ding! Upgrade in process... Update completed!!}

{Name: Raiden Ashford}

{Rank: Bronze}

{Potential: F Tier}

{Bloodline: None}

{Techniques: Intermediate Meditation Mantra (Limit Reached), Intermediate Physical Exercises (Limit Reached)}

After upgrading the techniques, Raiden started using the Meditation Mantra and immediately felt the difference; the strand of mental power in his mind felt much thicker and fluid than before.

"It reached its limits, huh? Well, no matter. It's not like I have fought anybody myself. I just need to be strong enough to use the system." Satisfied with his new meditation technique, he moved to the backyard to practice his Physical Conditioning with Woolie following behind him.

After reaching open space, exhaled deeply before starting to do the set of poses given in the physical conditioning.

According to the technique, he needed to read a meditation mantra and do the given set of poses together for it to have any kind of effect.

Already familiar with the Meditation due to the bonding ritual, he easily started using it, and the mental energy now spread throughout his whole body.

Just as he assumed the first pose, an immense pain welled up in his body, causing him to fall down a second later.

"Son of a B—!! Why does it hurt so much?!" Lying on the ground, he started cursing.

Woolie, who had followed him outside, was already having too much fun after seeing such a big open space and already started running around in it.

Seeing his human on the ground, the little sheep came running straight to him and started talking.

"Woo, Woolie, Woo, Wool, Woolie!!" (ㆁωㆁ)

"Huh? What? Are you hungry again or something??" Raiden asked, confused with this animal talk.

Woolie, hearing this, gave him a look of disdain, spoke again.

"Woolie, Wool Woolie!!" It started making grand gestures with his front legs, making Raiden even more confused.

Probably due to the bond that connected them together, Raiden understood what he wanted to say somewhat.

"You are saying you want to train?? You?? Why??? Aren't you a docile farm animal?? Why do you want to learn how to fight? Isn't it better to just lie down and level up passively??" He asked instinctively.

"Woolie!! Rawr!!!" ୧( ˵ ° ~ ° ˵ )୨

Woolie gave Raiden another look of disapproval, as if speaking:"What does a weakling like you know about the ambitions of a King?! I'm very fierce!!!"

Seeing this, Raiden felt speechless. He was looked down upon even by his own Terra Beast.

No, he wanted to quietly level and become strong using his cheat. He didn't want to stand out.

What if his Woolie got too strong and ended up beating someone up outside? That would start a plot of classic cultivation series where dad comes out when you beat the son, and grandad comes out when you beat up the dad.

No, he couldn't let this type of dangerous mentality grow about training and becoming strong. He must crush such blasphemous thoughts in the cradle at once.

"Alright, you want to train, right? Give me a second." Raiden went back inside the house and looked for something for a few minutes before coming back out with two 5 Kgs dumbbells and a rope.

He then tied two dumbbells together with the rope and hung them across Woolie's small body, making it sway side to side on the spot.

Woolie:??? (☉。☉)

"Since you want to train, fine. First thing you've got to do is build muscle and stamina. Now, go run 100 laps around the garden with the weight." Raiden said, trying to sound as earnest as possible.

Feeling more than half of its body weight hanging on its body, Woolie had a strong gut feeling that its trainer was deliberately bullying it, but he didn't have strong proof against it.

"What ?? You can't even do this much?? Then you should give up on training. Just lie down and become strong through cheat code obediently." He said, feeling Woolie's will weakening.

Just a bit more convincing, and he was sure he could convince him to give up training, followed by instilling values like not fighting needlessly.

But his words seemed to have the opposite effect instead, as after shouting some incomprehensible words, Woolie turned around and started walking, his body swaying from side to side with each step.

Shaking his head after looking at him go, Raiden got up from the ground himself and assumed the physical training pose again.

His Terran was working so hard despite being two days old. He, the master, couldn't slack off too much.

The immense pain hit him like a truck. Not giving up immediately, he gritted his teeth and held on. 5 seconds. 10 seconds. 20 seconds.

Bam!!

He fell down on his butt once again, sweating.

"Whoever designed this training is sonofabitch!! His whole family is a bitch!! His ancestors are sons of bitches!!" Raiden cursed with all his heart.

But even he couldn't deny the results of this training. Moving his arms up and down, he felt stronger.

Not by too much, but it was noticeable for someone like him, who was basically a shut-in NEET and never exercised before.

After taking a brief break, he got up again and started training once more, this time able to hold it for 40 seconds.

Just like that, he lost himself in the feeling of growing stronger, doing the exercise over and over again on repeat, until the sun set over the horizon.

Meanwhile, Woolie was seemingly forgotten by its trainer, was hard at training.

At first, he was struggling hard just to walk properly, finding it hard to just balance himself. Slowly, though, it got used to the weight and started walking normally again.

Now, maybe it was because Raiden underestimated Woolie, or maybe the little sheep was just built different, it completely got used to more than double its body weight hanging on itself and started moving just like before.

Not satisfied with just walking, it started jogging around the field with weights on its body. Soon, the jogging turned into running, as it zoomed around the garden, having too much fun in the process.

Just like that, both the master and the Terran trained throughout the day, only collapsing after the sun had set.
