Chapter 2 - Madam Teyanna

A month had passed since I awoke to the truth of my reincarnation. Most of my days were spent wrestling with the baffling mechanics of crawling—a system far more complex than I'd ever imagined.

Since then I didn't see a glimpse of my mother again, instead the maid Eraliene has taken care of me so far, even going as far as breastfeeding.

Now that I think of it, weren't medieval kid nobles supposed to have dedicated milk givers?

Well maybe that was just my imagination.

 -

The mansion I'm staying at with my mother and countless maids is quite beautiful, electricity doesn't seem to exist and it reminds me of European style medieval castles if anything.

Putting that aside there was one particular incident which blew my mind, half heartedly at least as I had already expected something similar to it.

I mean I was reincarnated, so anything else short of it can't be that much of a surprise..

One day while trying to learn how to crawl aroundI managed to fall and hit my head so hard I swear I almost saw Lucifer himself waving me over to hell, but then Eraliene calmly picked me up and said something in some demonic prophecies I couldn't understand and suddenly the pain disappeared.

And no I don't mean she bandaged me and kissed it to pass, it was a full blown light shining with a slight hint of humming from both her hands and voice.

Magic.

Since then, eight days ago I had started to grow a crave to research it.

But alas, having the limbs of a baby is truly a hardship. I tried to hint it to my maid several times by pointing at bed night books we've had, she'd just laugh it off and tell me to wait for bed time..

I also tried calling out to a system multiple times hoping for an answer and nothing happened. It could be because I can't make out a sentence yet.

"Master Shu~" My maid called out to me as I sat in my crib and stared out the window in a daze, towards the vast sky and the city just below it. "It's milk time, Master Shu."

Those two words pulled me out of any complicated thought and I instead turned to her with my arms wide open. "DAah!"

The maid was quite big.

Quite literally packing, she was most probably more gifted than my mother.

And

Naturally, milk time was one of my favourite times in the day.

"Dah-." She called out to me as well with a smile and leaned over.

She was quite warm and gentle as well, it was the first human I took a liking to in this new place.

Picking me up she sat at a chair by my bed to feed me, and so without a worry in the world I fell asleep within her soft hands.

-

three months have passed since my awakening, today something finally happened.

In my past life I was the famous Kon Deus, despite that achievement of turning millions of hearts into my loyal fans there wasn't a more prideful moment than today.

I can finally crawl!

I tried crying out while speeding around my vast room, filled with children's books, my crib, and a semi empty wardrobe. During the day it makes for a great relaxation spot as I can't just jump into my crib.

Until now, although I was interested in this place which gave me a new life, I'd have to do with bedtime stories which I couldn't tell whether it was fantasy or a historical fact of the world as it had vague descriptions from skeleton dragons to something called celestials.

I often grumbled to myself the next morning after falling asleep far too soon, cursing myself for not staying up longer for one more story.

From what I've learned so far, if I take every story to heart, this world was very straightforward yet extremely different from my last one, filled with magic and warriors, power and wealth decided one person's rank in the society.

And as it turned out in that field I striked a jackpot, kinda.

My mother Teyana Leyndell was a daughter of a minor border noble somewhere on the outskirts of the north, for her higher than average beauty and intellect she was picked up by the palace's harem agents.

Now my father is where it turns out I got lucky, he is the king of the kingdom of Reyndell. The reason why he wasn't when I got here first was because currently he is leading an expedition somewhere east.

I'd also learned my full name by now: Hanshuu Reyndell. One servant finally called me after countless others kept saying young master, lord, young lord and so on.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen that servant since.

My maid often calls me in short by master Shu, a cute nickname much to the contrary of how I'd like to be perceived in the future.

I'd spent weeks in an attempt to crawl, but only managed to have an uncoordinated scuffle in place.

But -

I finally succeeded.

I managed to sneak into the mansion's library, the place from where my maid brought books.

It took only moments for my maid to notice I was gone; minutes later she found me, arms crossed before an open book, and carried me back to the crib I'm now convinced is a prison cell.

Either way it wouldn't have mattered as I realized despite my understanding of their language, I couldn't read.

And so I quickly fell to her charms in my crib prison as the maid warmly hummed me off to sleep.

-

I woke in my maid's arms as she absently caressed me, standing before massive red doors trimmed in gold. The sunlight on my face told me it was already the next day.

Noticing her obvious worriness I raised my flail still slightly chubby arms towards her face, "D-Dah."

She noticed me and smiled, though worry lingered as she leaned closer. My air‑headed maid mistook it for a stomach ache. "Hm, young master, is it poo time again?"

I frowned and smacked her nose with my tiny palm. "Gaah!"

Despite me wanting to continue arguing, the royal doors opened in front of us.

An older maid, perhaps in her late fifties, opened the doors and bowed just enough to not be disrespectful as I cast her a glance. "Your highness, young master. Her royal highness, Madam Teyanna, awaits you."
