Chapter 1 - Chapter 0: "Twisted World"

{This chapter serves as an introduction to the world and its rules. Some concepts are explained here to help with understanding, but not everything will be revealed at once—many details will unfold naturally throughout the story. Minor spoilers lie ahead.}

⩤⩥World⩤⩥

A world where criminality is normalized. Here, murder has replaced natural death. What was once sinful is now everyday life. Brother kills brother, sister kills sister. Blood ties mean nothing anymore. Some countries have devolved into their past, one of those being Britain. Britain is back to their Victorian era. And some countries have barely changed, one of those being Japan. Japan has remained almost exactly like it is in the real world.

Japan is one of the only countries with a heroes' organization, the heroes' organization is named Japan Agency for Global Enforcement and Response (J.A.G.E.R.). Japan is the country with the least crime rate, but it is still ridiculously high, with it being:

Overall Crime Rate: ~50–60% of the population.

Violent Crime: ~15–25% of the population.

Murder: ~2–5% of the population.

World Name: Twisted World.

Year: 2121.

Population: 12 Billion (Yes, it probably would be more in our world, but it's only 12 billion because of the amount of deaths and world devolution).

⩤⩥Power System⩤⩥

When someone is born, they get a specific power, but it is deactivated and they cannot use it. To re-activate it, the person has to complete a challenge/mission that they do not know of. They get 3 chances/3 lives to complete the challenge. If they die 3 times, on their 4th they will actually die without any more chances. And if they complete the challenge, some type of glitched text will appear in front of their eyes, and it will tell them:

Challenge Completed: (What they had to do/say (e.g., Die in a fire)) Your Power Is: (Their power (e.g., Blood))

For others, it will appear as if their eyes flashed black for half a second/quarter of a second.

No one has the same power as each other. Even if there are small differences, it will not be the same. e.g., Two people can have Ice as their power, but their powers will work differently. e.g., Three people have sound as their power, the first one can use their power to scream extremely loudly, but their lungs get damaged in the process. The second one can control the loudness and the deepness of their voice of which will irritate the opponent's ears/brain while speaking normally/making sounds, but he can't scream. The 3rd one can scream and yell and make sounds, but only with a special device attached to their mouth.

Someone can have 2, 3, or even 4 powers (e.g., Fire, water, wind, earth.), but it is very rare.

Powers reset every 903 years, where someone can have the power someone had before.

⩤⩥Mythical Powers and Mythical Creatures⩤⩥

Mythical powers come from Mythical Creatures, and they are far stronger than normal powers. Every 903 years 3 people are appointed by something (The thing is unknown, is it God? Is it humans? Is it aliens? Is it a system? No one knows) to create 7 Mythical Creatures and give them unique powers. The 3 people chosen will be chosen the moment 903 years exactly pass, the same glitched text will appear in front of their eyes, and it will give them the message of being chosen. Their eyes, again, will flash black for half a second/quarter of a second, but it is longer for the chosen people because of everything being explained to them.

Mythical powers are somewhat different from what the Mythical creature uses. They will work in a similar way, but not the same (e.g., the Mythical creature had a flesh-type power, the Mythical power given to someone will be flesh and bones.)

Mythical powers are obtained by killing or befriending a Mythical creature. Befriending a mythical creature guarantees that you get the power, and they become a pet/ally. But killing a Mythical creature doesn't guarantee that the person who killed the Mythical creature gets the power. After someone kills a Mythical creature, their power leaves their body—but it isn't guaranteed that the person who killed the Mythical creature gets their power. It's a 50-50 chance for the person who killed the Mythical creature to get the power, they might get it, or the power might become someone else's.

Mythical powers only go to a person who doesn't have their power activated. It will remove their original power and the deactivated power gets replaced by the Mythical power. Someone who has their power already activated will not get a Mythical power.
