Chapter 1 - Staying Hidden Until Invincible

Ch1:Sign in

"Ouch… ahh… what is this headache?"

I slowly opened my eyes.

The first thing that came into my view was a mouth—an animal's mouth.

Wait… an animal?

Hastily, I opened my eyes wide and saw a horse standing in front of me.

It was a muscular horse, similar to a Shire breed, but its body was covered in red zebra-like stripes. I quickly realized that I was inside a wooden shed, lying on a stack of hay.

At that moment, a sudden shock ran through my brain. A spiritual pain—something I had never experienced before—assaulted my mind. After nearly a minute, the pain slowly faded away.

Inside my head, memories appeared—scenes that did not belong to me.

They belonged to the previous owner of this body, whose name was also Blake. From these memories, I learned where I was and why I had ended up here.

I was stunned.

This world was not an ordinary one like my previous world. It was a fantasy world—where demons from myths existed, where humans could fly, and where people possessed incredible powers.

More specifically… cultivation.

Humans could cultivate and become either Mages or Warriors. With enough strength, they could move rivers, lift mountains, and even destroy them with ease.

"I… transmigrated."

Fear instantly overwhelmed me.

Unlike the usual transmigrated protagonists who felt excitement—because they gained a system, a sealed grandpa in a ring, or a powerful master—I had nothing.

I was merely a house cleaner in the estate of Baron Red of the Silverwing Empire.

"With the power of love, I summon you—System…"

"System… hello?"

"Oh… maybe a secret code is required to activate it, like a program…"

"Well then—Abracadabra! Here comes the system! System… brother System… System, my friend, please don't hide!"

I was on the verge of a breakdown.

From the memories of the previous owner, I knew he was an orphan whose town had been destroyed by demons. Only a few survived—and he had no possessions whatsoever.

While I was panicking, the door of the shed opened.

Two people walked in—one was a child, and the other was an adult.

The child was also a servant like me. The adult was Old Stan, the man in charge of the horses and sheds—my superior.

"Hm… so you're awake,"

Old Stan said. "That's good."

He noticed my pale face, covered in sweat.

"You don't seem fully recovered. Take some rest. By evening, clean the shed."

Then he turned to the child beside him.

"Ethen, take him to the infirmary and ask them to give him some medicine."

After saying that, Old Stan left.

The child bowed.

"Yes, sir."

After Old Stan left, Ethen walked over and asked with concern,

"Are you alright, Blake?"

"Yeah… I'm okay," I replied, trying to stand.

But the moment I did, sharp pain assaulted me again.

My stomach hurt badly. I lifted my dirty old shirt and saw a clear hoof mark on my abdomen.

At that moment, I realized why I had been lying on the hay.

"He was kicked by a horse… and then lost consciousness. That's when I came into this body," I thought.

"I'm fine," I told Ethen. "Just still feeling some pain from the kick."

"Come on, let's go to the infirmary," Ethen said, supporting me as we walked.

The infirmary was close to the sheds, meant for treating accidents quickly.

After five minutes, we arrived.

The moment I stepped inside, a voice echoed in my mind.

"Sign-in System successfully connected. Merging with host."

"Would you like to sign in?"

I was shocked—but forced myself to stay calm and show no reaction.

After fifteen minutes, the physician gave me some medicine and food for recovery.

With Ethen's help, I returned to the shed and lay back down on the hay, taking the medicine.

Ethen looked worried.

"How are you feeling now?"

"I'm fine. Don't worry—I'll recover soon,"I said with a smile.

"Alright. Rest well, Blake. I have to feed the horses in the other shed. I'll help you clean later," Ethen said before leaving.

After he left, I smiled and muttered,

"Haha… it's here. My golden finger."
