Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Just as Yaoyorozu Chihiro relaxed and turned to melt back into the dispersing crowd, a thunderous shout suddenly erupted behind him.

"Don't run!"

A presence sharp enough to make the hair on his neck stand on end closed in at a terrifying speed.

"Damn it… his reaction is way too sharp," Chihiro cursed under his breath.

He slammed his foot into the ground repeatedly, accelerating straight into the densest part of the crowd. At the same time, he grabbed a person nearby without hesitation and hurled them backward.

"You can't escape."

The familiar voice carried crushing pressure.

Chihiro glanced back in a flash.

All Might.

The man was charging forward like a runaway train, muscles surging, one arm already extended as if he intended to seize Chihiro outright.

At the same time, All Might stared at the rapidly retreating black-robed figure, his gaze sharp and calculating. He was not foolish—on the contrary, he was extremely perceptive. From the sludge monster's terrified scream just before its death, All Might had already reached a conclusion: even if this black-robed man was not the true culprit, he was undoubtedly a major figure.

As Chihiro sprinted, his right hand quietly closed around the soft sword hidden at his waist. Simultaneously, the Smart Chip activated.

[Name: All Might]

The data was unusually detailed—so overwhelming that Chihiro unconsciously loosened his grip on the sword.

For a fleeting moment, he even felt the urge to surrender outright.

"So… All Might really is a genuine monster," Chihiro thought grimly. On the surface, however, he forced himself to remain calm, suppressing the frantic roar in his mind.

Suddenly, something occurred to him.

Chihiro abruptly raised his head and shouted toward the sky, "What are you still waiting for?!"

"Allies?" All Might's expression darkened instantly—but it was already too late.

A black shadow shot into the crowd at an angle completely incomprehensible to ordinary people. Its speed was so extreme that even All Might's pupils shrank.

"Let them go."

Suppressing rage like magma beneath stone, All Might planted his feet and coldly stared ahead.

There, amid the crowd, stood a strange creature holding two young men—one with green hair, the other with yellow.

It was undeniably a creature.

Its form resembled a cheetah, yet it was far smaller—more like a cat. Cute at a glance. Deadly upon inspection. Its eyes were utterly indifferent, and the claws extending from its paws measured dozens of centimeters in length. No one doubted that in the next second, those claws could rip open throats, sending blood spraying like fountains.

"Good work."

Chihiro spoke loudly, then lowered his voice, a hoarse edge of approval slipping through.

He turned and fled without a single backward glance.

There was only one All Might—but far more than one professional hero. Chihiro had already spotted a giant female hero, towering like a mountain, charging toward the scene.

Staying meant capture—or worse.

All Might watched Chihiro's retreating figure, as if engraving it into his memory. He did not give chase.

Lives were at stake. There was no room for recklessness.

A hero's duty was to prioritize civilians above all else.

As Chihiro vanished into the depths of an alley, the Catgirl sighed softly in her heart.

"I owe you… for what you paid."

She gently lowered the two youths beneath her paws, nodded slightly toward All Might, then transformed into a streak of dim light and shot away.

"Cheetah stance… a truly magical movement."

All Might clenched his fist.

Are they accomplices… or something more complicated?

In the end, he chose not to pursue.

As much as he hated to admit it, his current condition could not support a prolonged chase.

That speed…was truly terrifying.
