A KIND STRANGER
Later that evening, Juliana gathered courage.
"Doctor… I can't pay my bills."
Carlos looked shocked. "Where's your family?"
Tears filled her eyes.
"They think I'm a bad girl. But I wasn't. I was hurt… I didn't choose this."
Carlos clenched his fists.
"No woman deserves such pain."
He stood. "Don't worry about money. I'll handle it."
Juliana gasped. "Why would you help me?"
Carlos smiled softly. "Because kindness still exists."
When his father, Pastor Mendoza, heard, he was worried.
"People will talk," he warned.
Carlos replied firmly, "Let them talk. God knows the truth."
That night, Carlos paid everything.
For the first time in months, Juliana slept peacefully.
