Chapter 41 - 40) Talk no Jutsu

"You brat. It's just that too much time has passed—I've simply forgotten the past."

As Obito Uchiha spoke, his eyes shifted from ordinary black to the crimson of the Sharingan—one tomoe, then two, then three.

And then—

The Mangekyō Sharingan bloomed.

The distinctive Kamui pattern spun within his eyes.

Gasps rippled through the crowd.

For decades, the Mangekyō Sharingan had been little more than a legend within the clan. No living wielder. No confirmed awakenings.

And yet recently, it seemed to be appearing one after another, almost in wholesale fashion.

For a fleeting moment, some even felt that the Mangekyō was no longer something extraordinary.

System use Enhanced Talk no Jutsu.

Long ago, Itachi had received this ability as an additional reward though unfortunately only one time use. After reading its description, he had already chosen the perfect target.

The greatest "talent" of the Uchiha— Uchiha Obito.

Obito, satisfied by the shock and awe in everyone's expressions, gave a slow nod.

Then—

SWOOOSH

In an instant, every Uchiha present—along with Black Zetsu merged with White Zetsu—vanished.

They reappeared in another dimension.

Beneath their feet stretched a calm, mirror-like ocean reflecting a vast blue sky. The horizon seemed endless. The world was silent and serene—so beautiful that any nature enthusiast would have given anything to witness it.

"What is this? Another dimension?" Black Zetsu muttered in alarm. "But this isn't Obito's Kamui space. And how were we transported instantly? Obito always requires time to phase into his dimension."

Panic flickered through him.

First, because of the sudden relocation.

Second, because he now stood fully exposed—no trees, no shadows to conceal his presence.

Obito himself felt a trace of unease. But recalling his Mangekyō ability, he quickly steadied his mind.

The surrounding Uchiha assumed this was Obito's doing and became vigilant, ready to strike at any moment.Only Shisui Uchiha narrowed his eyes slightly. This… felt like Itachi's handiwork.

Then, without warning, music began to play.

A deep, resonant melody echoed from every direction at once. There were no instruments. No visible musician.

The sound simply existed.

"Uchiha Obito… why did you betray the clan?"

The voice rang across the endless sea.

Shock spread across the gathered clan.

Obito's gaze snapped toward Itachi.

Black Zetsu's thoughts spiraled.

How? How could Itachi identify him so confidently?

As for the other Uchiha, they all knew the name.

Uchiha Obito

A war hero

Disciple of the Fourth Hokage

A supposed martyr of the Kannabi Bridge.

Yet here he stood — Alive

With the Mangekyō Sharingan awakened.

As though something within him had been violently stirred, Obito's expression twisted with ferocity.

"I didn't betray the clan—or Konoha!

You betrayed me!

You fools had one task. Just one!

To protect Rin!

And yet you incompetent fools couldn't even do that. And now… you dare question me?

Huff… huff…"

Seeing the confusion in everyone's eyes, Obito felt a sudden urge to justify himself. If he could make them understand his pain…

Perhaps he could even bring the entire Uchiha clan under his banner.

"Since I was a child, I wanted to become Hokage—to make the clan and my grandmother proud.

When I entered the Academy, I always ranked at the top in physical training and combat drills.

But my written scores were always near the bottom. Because of that, many within the Uchiha mocked and belittled me.

Whenever I felt discouraged… Rin would cheer me up. Rin Nohara believed in my dream."

His voice softened briefly.

"Later, I joined Minato-sensei's squad with Kakashi and Rin. During the Third Great Ninja War unnthe battle of Kannabi Bridge, Rin was abducted. Kakashi and I rescued her, but the cave collapsed. I pushed Kakashi away though half of my body was crushed beneath the rocks. Before I died… I gave him my Sharingan."

Many of the Uchiha nodded. They had heard fragments of this tale before—the heroic boy who sacrificed himself at Kannabi Bridge.

Even Sasuke Uchiha felt a flicker of admiration. Saving comrades. Dying for friends. It was the very image of a true shinobi.

Far away, however, Black Zetsu was seething with anger and helplessness.

Why is this idiot revealing everything?

Unfortunately for him, he underestimated the mechanics of Talk no Jutsu.

A successful Talk no Jutsu followed three invisible steps:

1) Let the other party reveal their tragedy.

2) Respond with even deeper empathy—"I was like you." "I understand your pain." " We have the same goal."

3) End with lofty ( nonsense) philosophy and forgiveness—convincing the enemy to abandon years of plans in a single emotional breakthrough.

Obito, unaware of Black Zetsu's fury, continued.

"I thought my story ended there.

But I was saved… by an old man living in a hidden cave.

He called himself… Madara Uchiha."

Some gasped. Others remained skeptical, assuming yet another deception.

"For the next year or two, I healed and trained under him. Especially… Wood Release."

He raised his hand.

Wooden spikes burst forth from his palm.

Shock rippled across the ocean's mirrored surface.

Wood Release—the kekkei genkai of Hashirama Senju, the God of Shinobi.

Mangekyō Sharingan—the pinnacle of the Uchiha. The fusion of both was something few could even imagine.

The clan members grew even more vigilant, though their expressions barely changed.

"Later, I learned that Rin and Kakashi were fighting the Hidden Mist.

When I arrived…"

His voice trembled.

"Kakashi had pierced Rin's chest with his Chidori."

Silence fell.

"At that moment, I realized something."

His Mangekyō spun slowly.

"This world is hell.

The only things that truly exist here are pain… suffering… and futility."

As if responding to his emotions, the background music deepened, swelling with tragedy.

Nearly every Uchiha present here had three-tomoe Sharingan.

They understood.

To awaken those cursed eyes, how much one must drown in despair.

"Thus… I accepted Madara's plan."

He lifted his head.

"The Infinite Tsukuyomi."

The name alone drew everyone's full attention.

"It is a genjutsu cast through the power of the Ten-Tails.

Its light reflects off the moon… and spreads across the entire world.

Once activated, every living human will be enveloped in its radiance.

Their bodies will sleep…

But their minds will awaken in another reality."

His voice steadied, conviction replacing grief.

"A world shaped by their deepest desires.

In that world, the dead return.

Parents lost to war will stand beside their children once more.

Fallen comrades will laugh as if the battlefield never existed.

No child will grow up alone."

The ocean remained still.

As if waiting for judgment.

"There will be no nations.

No missions.

No shinobi ordered to kill strangers in the name of pride.

War will end… not because people resist it—

but because the reason for war will no longer exist.

Each person will live the life they always wished for.

The dream they were denied in this broken reality.

A peaceful home.

Unfulfilled love returned.

A future without loss.

A world without pain… without despair."

Silence followed.

"Is… is there really such a genjutsu?" one Uchiha finally asked.

Many others turned toward Obito Uchiha, waiting for confirmation.

Itachi did not interrupt.

Because the question was not foolish.

{ Itachi's Thoughts // EXTRA //

In truth, most people in this world feel it.

That this world is hell. Great wars erupt every few decades. Smaller conflicts ignite every few years. Civilians die trying to shield their families from the clash of shinobi and the greed of nobles. Children starve by the thousands, fighting over scraps of food.

And shinobi?

To civilians, they look like gods.

In reality, they are tools. Even in the strongest village, Konohagakure, countless ninja grow up without parents. Orphans are shaped into weapons before they even understand what peace means. Obito also lost his parents before he can remember their faces. And if this is Konoha—what of the other great villages? The smaller, weaker ones crushed between powers?

For a fleeting moment, even Itachi Uchiha questioned it. If one removes the hidden schemes of Black Zetsu and the resurrection of Kaguya Otsutsuki, then the Infinite Tsukuyomi truly resembles salvation.

A false heaven

But heaven nonetheless

In the end, Itachi reached a quiet conclusion.

Perhaps Naruto Uzumaki is impossibly naive…

Or impossibly arrogant.

Because of "bonds."

Because of "reality."

Because of the stubborn belief that pain has meaning—

He rejected a paradise that could comfort nearly everyone.

Naruto according to him is an anomaly in the shinobi world.

He dreams of becoming Hokage—the perfect ninja. Yet he does not do what shinobi are trained to do. He does not kill Sasuke Uchiha after Sasuke betrays the village. He does not kill Obito who orchestrated the Nine-Tails' attack and the death of the Fourth Hokage and the previous Nine-tails Jinchūriki. He does not kill Orochimaru who killed the Third Hokage. He forgives Nagato despite the destruction of Konoha and the deaths of thousands.

Which loyal shinobi spares such enemies?

This show is called Naruto and is a Japanese anime thus everything is good after sparing them. If it was a Chinese production see if those villains don't kill your eighteen generations for revenge.
