"What? Why did the Crown Prince send the order to arrest me? Prince August is lying! I did nothing! He has no proof!" Xavier screamed as the soldiers forced him down onto his knees and began shackling his wrists. His wife wept and begged the guards for mercy, but her pleas fell on deaf ears.
"I carry an official arrest warrant based on evidence that the Crown Prince has personally reviewed," the chief soldier stated coldly, holding up the parchment that bore the unmistakable, heavy seal of the Crown Prince's office.
Within moments, Xavier was dragged ruthlessly from his residence and taken straight to the central prison.
He was shoved brutally into a damp, filthy cell. Stumbling forward, Xavier scrambled back up and grabbed the iron bars, looking desperately at the chief soldier. "Please, ask the Queen to meet me just once. I beg of you!"
The chief soldier uttered no words. He simply turned on his heel and walked away to deliver his report.
