Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 10:, WHERE SHADOW REMEMBER US

The night was quiet, deceptively so.

Damien and Ethan stood in the safehouse, their bodies still humming from the adrenaline of the day—the truth revealed, their families exposed, and their past finally colliding with the present.

For the first time, neither held back.

Damien reached for Ethan, tracing the line of his jaw with a fingertip. "You're mine," he whispered.

"I'm yours," Ethan replied, voice trembling, lips barely brushing Damien's.

The room seemed to shrink around them. One kiss led to another, and every hesitation melted away.

Later, they moved together in a fire that had been building for years—passion, longing, and unspoken confessions all exploding at once. Damien was commanding, protective, Ethan yielding, trusting, giving himself fully to the man he had loved and feared all these years.

When it was over, they held each other close, bodies entangled, hearts finally aligned. The city outside might have been full of enemies—but inside this room, there was only them.

The morning sun found Ethan already gone.

Damien woke to an empty bed, a faint scent of Ethan lingering in the sheets. Panic flared. But a note lay on the nightstand:

"I have to finish what's started. I'll come back. Be ready."

Damien's eyes burned with both worry and anticipation. He knew Ethan—the fire in him never cooled, never bent, never surrendered.

By nightfall, Damien found him on the edge of the city, surrounded by the ruins of his family's empire. Ethan moved like a storm—fast, precise, lethal. Every syndicate enforcer, every rival who had ever threatened Damien, fell under his wrath. The streets were littered with remnants of power, a bloody testimony to his promise.

Damien watched, heart in his throat. Ethan looked at him once, eyes dark, almost dangerous.

"I told you I'd avenge you," Ethan said, voice low, fierce.

"You already have," Damien whispered, stepping closer.

Then, without hesitation, Ethan burned the last of his family's assets—the casinos, the warehouses, the mansions. Flames climbed toward the sky, fire painting the night red and orange, reflecting in their eyes.

Ethan turned to Damien, a small, wicked smile tugging at his lips.

"I will let the world burn for you," he said.

Damien didn't answer. He just pulled Ethan into his arms. Heat from the fire, heat from their reunion, merged into a perfect, terrifying harmony.

For a moment, the world was theirs alone.

The enemies who had once threatened them were gone. The chains of the past were ashes beneath their feet. And somewhere in the distance, the city watched its empire crumble, powerless against the bond between two men who had fought death, betrayal, and destiny—and won.

Hand in hand, they walked away from the flames.

The night was theirs. The future was theirs.

And this time, no one—not even the shadows—could take each other away.
