Maribel woke up and found out that Zain didn't return. She went downstairs and decided to help May with her job. She didn't demand payment or anything.
She just worked to keep herself busy.
Rhaelis already woke up and was having her food. Maribel greeted her and began to go to work.
Rhaelis ate her food in peace.
Ever since Rhaelis decided to stay in the inn, the inn became full everyday Rhaelis is inn. May understood that's it's because of Rhaelis that her inn was full.
Ravenscar is the smallest kingdom on the entire continent. It doesn't have many things going for them. Even though it's the smallest kingdom and doesn't any attractions or scenic beauty, it's the most respected Kingdom besides the Elven kingdom.
Ravenscar Kingdom doesn't participants in wars but the nobility of them participants in wars by the permission of the king. The nobility participants because that's mostly the only thing that can elevate their ranks.
The only noble who don't participate at war is the Duke and Royalty. Ravenscar Kingdom is weak in power and status.
On the kingdom's ranks, Ravenscar is at the bottom while the Elven Kingdom is at the top. Well Of course no kingdom can compare to the Empire.
So, when Rhaelis appeared in the kingdom, every adventurer dropped whatever they were doing just to see her or maybe be lucky to gain some tips.
Rhaelis decided to go to the back of the inn to practise. She started swinging her sword since the inn didn't have wooden sword and she didn't want to go to the guild because everyone will bother her, that'll make her lose focus.
She practised for hours alone before Zack appeared on her location.
Guildmaster Zack was bored in his office and thought maybe Zain or Rhaelis would visit him but nothing like that happened after 2 hours. He decided to go to the inn.
When he arrived at the inn, he asked May if Zain or Rhaelis are available. May told him that Zain hasn't returned to wherever is at, she asked Zack if Zain has taken a quest which Zack denied it, and May told Zack he can find Rhaelis in the back.
Rhaelis didn't notice when Zack arrived because she was focused on her. Zack decided to greet Rhaelis, she just greeted back and went back to her training.
Zack decided to train with Rhaelis.
They trained for an hour before they stopped and decide to grab something to eat.
They grabbed a table and ordered some food. Zack spotted Maribel speaking with someone and felt aversion towards them. He tried to not look at them and tried to hide himself.
Rhaelis saw Zack trying to hide or avoid someone. She followed Zack eyeline and saw Maribel talking with someone. The person spotted Zack and went to their table.
"Zacky, is that you? It is you... Zack-zack."
The person said with a smile on their face.
"Ohhh, how might you be? His new lover I presume." The person said as they looked at Rhaelis. Rhaelis was surprised by what the person said and looked at Zack.
"She's not my lover." Zack said as he looked at them.
"I'm Isolde, you can call me Iso." Iso said as she looked at Rhaelis with happy smiles.
"I'm Rhaelis." Rhaelis said with a straight face as she looked at Zack.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Zack said feeling confused like he's done something wrong.
"I knew who you were, I'm a big devotee of you. A BIG DEVOTEE. Rumour has it that you eat dragons for morning snack, is it true?" Iso said graceful with cheerful voice as she asked Rhaelis.
Everyone looked at Iso like she's crazy or something.
Rhaelis looked at her and said, "Only when I'm in the wild. Not everyday."
"So it's true. I knew it was true." Iso said in happy voices. Rhaelis seemed to connect something.
"If you're a big devotee of me, why did you think I'm his girlfriend?" Rhaelis looked at her when she said that. May and Maribel looked at her since they wanted to know too. Zack looked away and didn't want to know or probably knew.
Maribel was with Iso when she walked in and walked with her towards the table. May came to the table when Iso called Zack "Zacky".
"I'm sorry about that. I was messing with Zacky because Zack-zack here is afraid to have a lover." Iso said as he looked at Zack.
"Ohh really, I didn't know." May said as she looked at Zack.
"Yes, that's why he's always in his office all day except when he's at the brothel." Iso said but last part said it in a fun, teasing voice.
"What? You knew?" Zack said as he rapidly stood up. Everyone looked at him in shock and surprise.
"Well... I didn't know until now." Iso said in suprised motion and facial expression.
"Miss Rhaelis, do you have a lover by any chance?" Iso said as she looked eager to know.
"No." Rhaelis said bluntly.
"If you'd have one, who would it be? I'm just curious to know." Iso said in the same manner as before.
"Someone who's dead." Rhaelis said in a serious tone. Iso want to asked some more but stopped when she realised she's being rude.
An aura was felt by Zack, Rhaelis and Maribel.
"Did you feel that?" Rhaelis said as she looked at Zack.
"Yeah, I felt it. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Zack said as he looked at Rhaelis.
"What was that?" Maribel said as she looked around herself. Rhaelis and Zack were surprised by what she said.
"Did you feel that too?" Rhaelis said as she looked at Maribel.
"I felt a jolt in my heart." Maribel said in confusion.
Rhaelis didn't question it and just let it go because some normal people might feel something when their people close to them get in danger.
"What are talking about?" Iso said as she looked at Zack, Rhaelis and Maribel.
"It's Lucas." Zack said bluntly.
"WHAT!" Maribel said in shock and surprise.
"I think something is happening to him." Rhaelis said as she looked down.
Maribel felt pain in her chest and thought, 'Why am I feeling pain in my chest? Is it because I had something might have happened to him? But why? I get it now. I don't have anyone left. He's the only one who wants me even if I'm useless. I don't care if he saved me out of pity, companion or to be he's plaything. Please be safe.'
Maribel finally accepted her emotions towards Zain and herself. She doesn't like or hate Zain but she doesn't wish someone bad happen to him and it take time to know her feelings towards Zain.
