"Ding. Congratulations, Host, on completing Side Mission Four: Revenge."

"Evaluating performance…"

"Ding. Congratulations, Sam. You have received an S-rank evaluation. Would you like to view the reward details?

Yes / No."

After driving Damian and his men away, Sam finally had time to check the rewards from the completed mission.

The S-rank result was slightly better than he had expected.

"Confirm."

After a brief pause, Sam chose to view the reward.

"Ding. Congratulations, Host. You have obtained the S-rank item Charcoal.

Charcoal: A special fuel. When carried, it increases the power of Fire-type moves."

A very solid item.

With Charcoal equipped, Charmander's Fire-type attacks would be significantly strengthened. Combined with the boost from its Ability, Sam was genuinely looking forward to Charmander's next battle.

"Ivysaur, feel the sunlight. Absorb it carefully and focus the solar energy into the bud."

Recently, Sam had been trying to help Ivysaur master Solar Beam.

Solar Beam could be considered the ultimate move of Grass-type Pokémon. Once Ivysaur learned it, its overall combat strength would rise dramatically.

While Ivysaur trained under the sun, the other Pokémon weren't idle either.

Charmander was doing push-ups on the beach.

After several days together, Charmander had realized that it was currently the weakest member of Sam's team. For a proud and sensitive Pokémon like it, that realization was extremely uncomfortable.

Determined to grow stronger as quickly as possible, Charmander had devoted itself entirely to training.

Sam was very satisfied with this attitude.

Charmander had exceptional talent and worked harder than most Pokémon. Even searching with a lantern, it would be difficult to find another like it. And yet, it had ended up with him—all thanks to Damian, that idiot.

Thinking about it, Sam couldn't help but laugh.

Aside from Ivysaur and Charmander, the rest of the team—who didn't have the luxury of resting—were also training nearby.

"Ash and the others should be arriving soon."

Sam lifted his head and looked toward the lighthouse not far away, lost in thought.

This area was known as the strait near Bill's Lighthouse.

Some people might not recognize the name of the strait itself, but Bill's Lighthouse was famous—especially as the temporary laboratory of Professor Bill, the creator of the Pokémon Storage System.

Sam knew Bill was currently inside the lighthouse, but he had no intention of visiting.

His real reason for staying here was the giant Dragonite.

He had searched the surrounding area for several days and still hadn't found any trace of it.

To make sure he didn't miss his chance to see the enormous Dragonite, Sam didn't dare interfere with the storyline. So he chose to wait here for Ash's arrival.

Sam wasn't interested in capturing the giant Dragonite.

What he truly wanted to know was whether it had reached a so-called "god-level" state.

That answer was extremely important to both Sam and his Pokémon.

If that Dragonite could reach such a level, then his Pokémon could too.

Speak of the devil.

Just as Sam was wondering when Ash would arrive, several familiar figures appeared in the distance.

"Pikachu!!!"

Ash looked down in surprise as Pikachu suddenly became excited.

"Pikachu, what's wrong?"

"Pika, pika!" Pikachu cried, pointing toward the Pokémon training on the beach.

While Ash was still confused, Brock had already figured it out.

"Those are Sam's Pokémon."

Ivysaur had left a deep impression on Brock, and he recognized it immediately.

"Charmander, Scyther—and wait, is that a Tyranitar?!"

The closer they got, the more shocked Brock became.

He hadn't expected Sam to be carrying such a rare Pokémon.

"It's Tyranitar. That Tyranitar is called Mega Mega.

It saved Pikachu and me from the Spearow back then. It's our savior."

"Pika!" Pikachu nodded in agreement.

"It's rare to hear Ash praise a Pokémon like that," Misty said thoughtfully.

"Is this Sam's trump card?"

After confirming that the newcomers were Ash and the others, Sam walked over with a smile.

"Long time no see, Ash. Brock. Misty."

"Sam, are Charmander and Scyther your newest Pokémon?" Ash asked curiously, immediately focusing on the team instead of small talk.

"Charmander is new," Sam replied, "but not Scyther. I caught Scyther back in Viridian Forest."

"That's right!" Ash suddenly said excitedly.

"Sam and I are going to have a Pokémon battle! I caught a Charmander too!!!"
