Daisy was absolutely loving every single second of watching Seraphine give Voren that ice-cold shoulder.
It felt even sweeter because Voren had completely stopped looking at Seraphine the way he used to, like she hung the damn moon.
Now every glance he shot her way was totally blank and freezing cold, and Daisy couldn't have been more thrilled about it. Deep down, she could tell it wasn't just dislike anymore.
The man straight-up hated Seraphine, and that was exactly how Daisy wanted things to stay forever.
The only thing that kept gnawing at her was Seraphine's missing memories. If those ever came flooding back, everything Daisy had worked so hard to bury would explode right out into the open.
Seraphine would remember all the lies, call her out in front of everyone, and maybe even worm her way back into Voren's heart. Just picturing it made Daisy's stomach twist into horrible, painful knots that wouldn't let go.
