Earlier, Ravyn suddenly remembered something that made his stomach drop like a rock. Bryan hadn't received his serum yet.
He rushed straight to the boy's room, expecting to find him there, but the room was completely empty.
His brows pulled together in confusion. "Bryan?" Only silence answered him. He quickly searched the nearby rooms before finally spotting Daisy. "Have you seen Bryan?"
Daisy looked genuinely confused. "I thought he was with you."
Ravyn's expression grew tense with worry. Neither of them had any idea where the little boy had run off to. Without wasting another second, they both headed straight for the safe house.
The moment they stepped inside, Bryan's excited voice rang out loud and clear through the whole room. "Everyone, look at my mommy!"
Ravyn froze in his tracks. His eyes landed on Seraphine, who was still standing there with Bryan close beside her. Something painful twisted deep inside his chest, sharp and unexpected.
