Chapter 93. I don't really care anymore
"Tiger chief," Axis spoke calmly, his clear, melodious voice carrying easily over the wind. "As we allocate these resources, we must remember that our sanctuary is no longer just a tiger stronghold. The herbivore tribes provided the medicinal salves that kept your warriors alive during the dig, and our gatherers are already preparing the soil at the base of the palisades for the spring planting. A portion of the meat and bones must be allocated to the herbivore quarter to ensure our shared healers and laborers remain strong."
A few older tiger warriors grumbled, but Tigris immediately stepped beside Axis, crossing his massive arms over his broad chest and glaring at the objectors.
"The deer speaks the truth!" Tigris barked fiercely. "Without his tonics, half my vanguard would have rotted from blood rot on the mountain. Anyone who has a problem with the herbivores getting their share can take it up with my claws!"
