With a subtle thrust, Luo Hong made Bronya in his arms even more emotional. He turned to Danzhu and asked, "By the way, where are you now?"
"Almost at Mount Taixuan." Seeing his movements, Danzhu instinctively shot him a look of pure disgust, as if she were looking at something filthy. "Once we find a way to charge the Book of Fuxi, we'll take her back to find Hua."
Despite her look, she answered his question honestly.
"No danger encountered?" Luo Hong stroked his chin, analyzing the situation calmly while Bronya gradually lost herself in his embrace. "That shouldn't be right... how could Otto hold himself back from acting?"
Theoretically, the sisters shouldn't have left St. Freya Academy at this time. However, waiting for the enemy to move is the height of folly, which is why Luo Hong sent them to Mount Taixuan. He held the "resurrection" of Kallen in his hands; he didn't believe Otto wouldn't take the bait.
"I don't know," Danzhu shook her head. "Perhaps he realized your existence and decided that understanding you is more important."
The news about "Luo Hong" and the "dreams" hadn't been treated as a secret by Theresa and the others initially, so they spoke of it openly, assuming everyone in the dorm was an ally. But with Fu Hua being a mole, there was no way Otto wouldn't know.
"That's possible, but—" Before Luo Hong could finish, Cangxuan interjected.
"With Otto's obsession with Kallen, it's impossible for him to be indifferent toward two people who returned from the dead." Her icy blue eyes gleamed with wisdom as she analyzed, "Therefore, he is either planning something massive, or... he isn't Otto!"
To ensure their safety, Luo Hong had shown them Otto's entire life story, making sure they knew how to deal with him. Cangxuan was convinced something was wrong.
"Oh?" Luo Hong turned to her with a smile. "Not angry anymore?"
"How would I dare be angry with the Lord?" Cangxuan rolled her eyes before continuing. "If Otto knows we've returned to St. Freya and still hasn't contacted us, his identity is suspicious. If the 'plot' no longer matches, what is your backup plan, Lord?"
"Don't worry," Luo Hong said bluntly. "Since I've 'devoured' you, I won't give you useless intel. If the plot outside goes wrong, I will take full responsibility and help you defeat the Honkai."
He couldn't leave, but he understood the key steps to victory. As long as all combat forces were united, the Honkai could be overcome—at the very least, Kevin's Project Stigma was still a viable fallback.
"You're thinking of the bare minimum, aren't you?" Cangxuan sighed, seeing through him. "But the world is unpredictable. The moment you pulled us back from the brink of death, I knew things wouldn't follow a set path. As long as the final outcome isn't a total wipeout and we can pass the flame to the next generation, that's enough for me."
She wouldn't blame Luo Hong for reviving them—she was more than grateful. Being able to live with Danzhu again was her ultimate happiness. Even if given the choice again, she would choose the same. She only hoped the butterfly effect they caused wouldn't ruin the victory over the Honkai.
"Don't be so pessimistic," Luo Hong laughed. "I'm only considering the worst-case scenario. If we follow the normal process with Kiana, everything will be fine. At most, once she enters this world, I'll just give her some 'intense personal tutoring'."
"You... forget it." Cangxuan gave up on calling him out.
"I'm just glad the Book of Fuxi won't appear in your world," Danzhu grumbled from the side.
"Eh?" Luo Hong looked back, surprised. "Who told you I couldn't pull the Book of Fuxi?"
"?????????" Danzhu stared at him in disbelief. "You would even go after the Book of Fuxi?"
"Not just her," Luo Hong started listing names. "Klein, Jingwei's Wings, Blood Embrance, Selune's Elegy, Tesla ZERO, Elf Elysia, Project Bunny... actually, forget it." He got tired of listing. "As long as they are ELF (Equipment Living Forms), I'm down. Their perfectly sized bodies... aren't they the best [Beep] cups?"
"...Pervert." Danzhu gave a very accurate evaluation.
"My foolish sister, stop trying to find this Slaanesh-spawn's bottom line," Cangxuan said, shaking her head. "He has no bottom line in that department!"
"Yeah... I was foolish." It was the first time Danzhu fully agreed with her sister's assessment of her.
"Anyway—" Luo Hong continued smiling, ignoring their insults. "Raising Kiana well is the key to victory. As long as she's fine, everything stays on track."
"But..." Danzhu took over. "Because the 'plot' has changed, Kiana won't have to go through those painful experiences. Growing up in such a soft environment, she might not be able to shoulder the burden like she did in the original story. So... so..." Her heart softened, and she couldn't continue.
After all, they couldn't exactly force Kiana to suffer for no reason, could they?
"Don't worry, I've had a plan for this for a long time."
A playful, satisfied smile appeared on Luo Hong's handsome face. "I'll make sure Kiana feels the pain, but without actually hurting her."
"Hm?" Danzhu looked at him with suspicion. "This 'method' of yours... is it proper?"
"Of course it's not proper." Luo Hong didn't disappoint her, stating his plan with an air of absolute pride. "Why do you think I've been so good to Mei?"
"Certainly, there's the factor that I truly love her, but more importantly: imagine the expression Kiana will make when she enters this world and discovers that her precious Mei has already been completely won over by me—body and soul."
"Just thinking about it gets me excited!"
As he spoke, he vented his excitement directly on Bronya, leaving the poor girl with no choice but to roll her eyes and stick out her tongue in silent protest.
As for the sisters, Cangxuan and Danzhu shared a look and remained silent. However, before long, they couldn't escape their turn either.
