Sienna blocked Alessandro's number on a Friday night.
She didn't tell anyone. Didn't make a big announcement or send a dramatic farewell message. She just sat on her couch with a glass of wine she wasn't drinking, opened his contact, and pressed the block button.
The confirmation message appeared: Alessandro Castellano will no longer be able to call or message you.
She stared at it for a long time. Longer than was necessary. Like if she looked at it hard enough, the words might change. Might tell her she was making the right choice. Or the wrong one. Anything except this terrible, hollow certainty that felt like cutting off her own air supply.
Her thumb hovered over the screen. One tap backward and she could undo it. Could tell herself she'd blocked him by accident, that her finger had slipped. Could leave the door cracked open just enough for him to slip through one more time.
She didn't press it.
