Sienna didn't hear from Dante for three days.
Three days of silence. No texts. No calls. No casual check-ins. Just nothing.
She told herself it was good. Healthy. They both needed space.
But it also terrified her.
Because silence from Dante felt like abandonment. Like maybe he'd decided she was too complicated. Too tangled up with Alessandro to be worth it.
On the fourth day, her phone rang. Dante.
"Hi," she answered, trying to sound casual despite her racing heart.
"Hi. Can we talk? In person?"
"Of course. When?"
"Tonight? There's something important I want to discuss." His tone was serious. Measured. "Can you meet me at Tavern on the Green? Eight o'clock?"
Tavern on the Green. A nice restaurant. Public. Romantic.
This was either a proposal or a breakup.
"I'll be there."
She spent the day spiraling. Called Jade, who was still recovering from the flu.
