Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Ino Yamanaka

"Ino Yamanaka?"

Hearing the visitor state her name, Ge Liang's eyes lit up and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly. He felt that the key to completing the novice mission lay with Ino Yamanaka.

Who was Ino Yamanaka?

She was one of the Konoha 12, a member of the prestigious Yamanaka Clan, and the 'Ino' in the Ino–Shika–Chō trio.

"Young Miss Yamanaka, this shop is no scam. The games here are absolutely worth the price. Trust me, play for just one hour and you'll definitely fall in love with this internet cafe's games."

"I don't believe you."

Faced with Ge Liang's guarantee, Ino Yamanaka remained skeptical. She wasn't a fool; what kind of game could be so expensive? This was clearly a trap for a young, naive girl like her.

Seeing that Ino was unmoved, Ge Liang pushed further: "How about this? Play for one hour. If the game doesn't satisfy you, you can smash this internet cafe to pieces. What do you say?"

"Boss, you're that confident?"

What a joke; Ge Liang had absolute confidence in the quality of the legend of jin yong heroes, not to mention that obtaining a Secret Manual in the game allowed one to Cultivate it in reality.

Who wouldn't love a game that was fun and could make them stronger?

"Fine. Since you're so confident, Boss, I'll give it a try. But don't worry, even if the game isn't fun, I won't smash your shop."

As seen in the original work, Ino Yamanaka was a kind-hearted person. When Sakura, the Wide Forehead, lacked confidence, it was Ino who encouraged her to be brave and be herself.

Even though they later became love rivals because of 'Sasuke', Ino didn't get angry after their draw in the Chunin Exams. Instead, she acknowledged Sakura by saying, "You've finally bloomed into a beautiful flower."

"Boss, here's Ten Thousand Ryo."

"Coming right up."

Having made her decision, Ino wasn't one to hesitate and handed Ge Liang the Ten Thousand Ryo directly.

At the same time, the System's notification sounded, informing him that he had completed the mission and that a new one had arrived.

Novice Mission: Completed.

Mission Reward: Activate game "the legend of jin yong heroes".

New Mission: Reach a total internet cafe revenue of one million Ryo.

Mission Progress: 1/100

Mission Reward: "Complete Collection of Jin Yong Novels and TV Series", three sets of internet cafe computers.

Glancing at the mission bar, Ge Liang felt a metaphorical ache.

There was nothing to say about the million Ryo revenue; with Ino getting hooked, more people would surely come later. Completing the mission was just a matter of time.

But what the hell was this mission reward?

Three computers were fine, but what use was a complete collection of Jin Yong novels and TV shows?

Playing games could at least make you stronger, but watching TV???

Well, it couldn't be said to be entirely useless; at the very least, these shows would provide clues to players of the legend of jin yong heroes.

The TV collection would be very useful for players like Ino, but for Ge Liang, it was useless.

I guess it's a walkthrough supplement for the game... "Boss, how do I use this?"

Sitting in the chair, Ino looked a bit awkward facing the computer.

Actually, computers existed in the Naruto World—even laptops—so Ino was not unfamiliar with them.

However, compared to the computers in this internet cafe, those in the Naruto World were behind by more than an era.

Facing such high technology, Ino inexplicably gained a bit of confidence in the internet cafe's game.

"Here's the switch, just press it once."

The computers in the internet cafe were similar to all-in-one PCs on Earth, integrating the tower and the monitor. That's why Ino couldn't find the tower when she tried to turn it on.

"Boss, there are too few games here, only one. And what is this helmet for?"

After turning on the computer, Ino couldn't help but complain about the empty, clean desktop and the helmet overhead.

"That helmet is a good piece of equipment."

A pitch-black tube connected the back of the chair to the helmet above.

This helmet was no ordinary item; it was the true black technology of this internet cafe.

Wearing the helmet allowed players to enter the game directly as a spiritual body—the legendary virtual reality game helmet.

It was definitely good stuff, but the design inevitably made one feel like they were getting a perm at a hair salon.

"There are actually two modes for playing computer games in my internet cafe..."

"The first is Normal Mode, where players use a mouse and keyboard."

"The second is Immersive Mode, where players put on the helmet..."

Ino expressed great surprise after Ge Liang explained how to use it.

"There's actually something like this?"

Ge Liang breathed a sigh of relief in his heart. It was great that Ino didn't mistake the helmet for a device to read people's memories.

If it were an experienced Ninja, it probably wouldn't have been so easy to pass.

It was truly lucky to encounter Ino while she was still an academy student.

What, you're asking how Ge Liang knew she hadn't graduated yet?

Nonsense, Ino wasn't wearing a Konoha forehead protector. Without a protector, she naturally wasn't a Ninja yet.

"I want to try Immersive Mode."

"Alright, after you put on the helmet, just click to open the game with the mouse."

"That simple?"

Muttering to herself, Ino reached out with both hands, lowered the helmet, and put it on.

"One more thing: when you want to exit the game, just think 'exit' in your mind."

"Got it, Boss."

With that, Ino used the mouse to click on the only game on the computer.

After the game started, Ino felt her vision go dark. After about a second, as the pleasant BGM 'Bamboo Garden Love Song' played in her ears, two options appeared before her eyes.

1: Start New Game

2: Load Game

Without hesitation, Ino chose to start a new game.

Unlike the Earth version, this version of the legend of jin yong heroes did not have a process for naming the protagonist or setting character attributes.

The game name was bound to the customer, and the protagonist's attributes were set based on the customer themselves.

Because it was Immersive Mode, it felt as if Ino had transmigrated into the game world.

"Is this... Genjutsu?"

Facing such a 'real' world, Ino immediately thought she might be under a Genjutsu, so she instantly disrupted her Chakra flow to try and break it.

But it was useless.

Not to mention she had no Chakra at all in the game; even if she did, she couldn't break it because this wasn't a Genjutsu in the first place.

"What's going on? Where did my Chakra go?"

Ino looked around, feeling a bit panicked.

Ge Liang, in front of the computer screen, saw Ino's panicked look in the game, so he quickly disconnected the helmet and forcibly 'kicked' Ino out.

"Ino, relax. It's just a game, don't be so nervous, relax... blah blah blah."

Under Ge Liang's detailed explanation, Ino calmed down, clicked the game, and prepared for her second experience.
