Chapter 181 - Chapter 181: The Past is Not Yet Traversed, Yet the Future has Descended

Chapter 181: The Past is Not Yet Traversed, Yet the Future has Descended

When Mo Yu was still a web novel author, he realized through his own career that failure to grow meant being eliminated. The web novel industry doesn't have a long history, yet many veteran authors who were successful a decade ago are still young today, but their new works are barely known. They didn't necessarily regress; they simply couldn't keep up with the drastic changes of the times.

Even now that Mo Yu has become God, this realization remains useful.

Conan is gradually reclaiming the supreme authority of an Eternal True God, and Ichigo Kurosaki, the King of Purity, is growing at a rate that defies logic. Compared to these two, how could Mo Yu rely solely on his high divine status and slack off?

During this period, Mo Yu had been working hard as well. In the Bleach world, his greatest harvest wasn't learning what "high-purity combat" was, but gaining a basic understanding of his Divine Status. He learned that through certain operations, he could input his own information and modify the underlying logic of a world-bubble, planting his brand to achieve permanent, continuous interference.

In simple terms, this is a process of usurping world permissions.

The value of this skill far exceeds any cultivation method. It is a fundamental difference in approach. In the Bleach world, training in Zanjutsu, Hohō, Hakuda, and Kidō, developing Zanpakutō abilities, or even mimicking Ichigo's hybrid bloodline to break limits are conventional paths to power. To Mo Yu, that is a meaningless process.

Even if World-0 has become a domain dominated by Ichigo, as long as Mo Yu wishes, he can use the name and brand of the "Fighting Soul King" to exert control over spirit particles and manifest countless miracles.

This skill worked wonders in the Conan world-bubble too. Once the "Moriarty" brand was planted, the Heavenly Killing Intent naturally fell under his command. Unless a catastrophic event like a "Change of Protagonist Era" occurred to upend the world's structure, Moriarty's power and status would be eternal.

Barring accidents, this will be Mo Yu's standard skill for traveling through bubbles: Start with a Q-skill: [World Permission Usurpation], then proceed to manipulate the world and its inhabitants according to his whims—front, back, left, and right.

To a conventional powerhouse, this is an "Ultimate" reserved for a grand finale. To Mo Yu, it wasn't enough. He had noticed its flaw: even with world permissions, he had no good way to deal with "out-of-spec" existences like Ichigo Kurosaki (who transcended the Soul King) or the awakening Evil God Edogawa Conan. They couldn't do much to Mo Yu in his higher dimension either, but it was a stalemate. Everyone was scoring 100 on the same exam paper.

To Mo Yu, punching only the weak and being unable to crush the fists of the strong was boring. As both a Fighting God and a God of Crime, he was never that uninteresting. Thus, he had been obsessively developing an E-skill to rival his Q-skill.

Through his Omniscience Authority working overtime—turning one second into ten—his efforts bore fruit. This E-skill had a prototype, and Mo Yu immediately put it into practice.

The "incident" of the exploding Time Machine was, in a sense, the start-up animation of Mo Yu's E-skill!

However, those living in the "Present Arc"—even the protagonists Conan and Ichigo—could not realize that God had already prepared a massive surprise for them in the Past Movie.

Destiny rolled forward. After receiving Karasuma XX's orders, Gin—driven by loyalty to the Organization and a desire to kill Shinichi—spoke with Ichigo. Learning that the aliens possessed time-travel tech, he agreed to the Distillery-Alien partnership to develop Nightmare Beika, on the condition that the Distillery get a Time Machine.

Ichigo didn't mind. He gave the reasons Conan had provided.

Gin couldn't help but marvel. Although the alien leader was just a round black ball, his tech level was undeniable. A Time Machine? It perfectly fit the "sci-fi stereotype" of aliens. Advanced indeed. Gin even suspected Ichigo had used similar tech to create Nightmare Beika so quickly despite a rough invasion start.

Gin, a man of action, pulled out his phone to begin arrangements. The Distillery's power was spread globally, but its strength in a region depended on the local official members. Japan was Gin's territory. Under this model worker's cultivation, the Organization's "Hidden Influence" was formidable.

Gin's intel network was vast; little in the Japanese underworld escaped him. Once he spotted a profitable opportunity, he struck. Sometimes he talked to second-in-commands anonymously; sometimes a gang leader woke up with a bullet on his pillow. In a Japanese underworld dominated by cold weapons and handguns, a small, militarily proficient "American-Spec-Ops" style squad could achieve anything.

Strike the heart, one-hit kill. Gin's offensives were always successful. He didn't ask much of these local factions—just funds, intel, and cooperation. Occasionally he threw them a bone, using his network to link their businesses, gaining more leverage until the Distillery's web was woven tight.

Most of these were outer-rim groups. Gin never showed his face to them. Only one or two key leaders knew of his existence—the "Eye in the Dark." This kept the Organization mysterious, but it meant trouble if those key people died.

And lately, they were dying. Beika's CEO mortality rate was skyrocketing.

Gin called his contacts. Some were dead; phones rang unanswered. For those who picked up, his orders were cold: "Come to Location XX and sign a document."

Gin chose a street in Nightmare Beika corresponding to the commercial district. In the nightmare, the skyscrapers were twisted and looked like death traps, but Gin didn't care; he wouldn't be living in them. He assigned two "death-trap" buildings and had the outer-rim leaders sign property lease contracts.

From now on, this was their office.

The leaders, terrified of Gin, rushed to the dark corners of physical Beika and were swallowed by the Nightmare. While they were still panicking, Vodka stepped up to handle the "mess." He tossed the contracts: Sign or die.

They signed. Only after signing did they realize they were now representatives of alien collaborators. Their faces turned pale. When they saw the "office buildings" wreathed in shadow-tentacles and surrounded by shrieking mutated vagrants, their expressions shifted through every color of the rainbow.

The tentacles waved as if welcoming these "volunteers" to the alien colonization cause. It was a life-long commitment—entering Nightmare Beika was easy; leaving was nearly impossible.

Nightmare Beika gained more life as these outer-rim forces moved in. Under Gin's pressure, they set up open-air stalls on the broken streets, afraid to enter the monster-like buildings. They spread out cloths and displayed their wares: mostly bottles of cyanide-based poisons with detailed manuals.

Lately, selling poison in Beika was more profitable than selling drugs. Citizens bought them like "daily necessities," figuring they might need them later. Beside the poison were "Beika Household Goods"—intricate assassination traps. Even in Beika, not everyone was a genius; there was a market for pre-made reliable murder machines.

As the stalls lined up, the vendors looked around and realized the market was incredibly "competitive" (involution).

My poison isn't as pure as his. That guy's trap design is better than mine!

Killing intent began to circulate between the stalls. They were all craftsmen, but in Beika, "mutual respect among peers" didn't exist. If Gin hadn't been there, they would have tested their traps on each other. Instead, they acted like mature professionals—eyes full of murder, but smiles bright and greetings warm. They chatted like old neighbors. Not because they suppressed their urge to kill, but because a pro always hides their "Motive" until the act.

Gin watched this in silence. In his memory, his outer-rim forces weren't like this. They used to be generic thugs. Now, they were hyper-specialized in "Murder." Gun-runners became trap-sellers; drug dealers sold cyanide. It was absurd.

But he let it go. As long as they provided funds, men, and intel, it was fine. The Ultimate Criminal Sanctuary was taking shape. Gin had fulfilled his side of the bargain, and Ichigo fulfilled his.

Ichigo handed over a stack of "Time Machine Blueprints." Gin asked to see them—an instinctive precaution. He wasn't a tech genius, but he knew enough that Ichigo couldn't pass off a lightbulb circuit as a flux capacitor. The stack was thick and complex; Gin glanced at it, felt a headache, and gave up.

Ichigo hadn't just "drawn" anything. He handed over a device blueprint designed by Kisuke Urahara for the world-migration project! But he didn't mention that. Destiny would push it forward regardless.

Now, they had to turn the paper into reality. Gin looked at Conan.

"You did well on the last mission. The BOSS is considering making you an official member. Since you have a good relationship with Mr. Kurosaki, you are in charge of this."

Conan smiled. "Big Brother Gin, leave it to me!"

His eyes, however, held no joy. Everything was following his plan. Fate was moving even Gin's choices. Taking the prints to Professor Agasa was the logical move; Agasa was a tinkerer who would take any job for money. Conan didn't want to involve his friends, but he needed Agasa's power.

"Uh, Little Detective... I have to ask: is this part of the plan?"

When Ichigo and Conan entered Agasa's house with a bag of cash, Ichigo couldn't help but ask.

The "dazed" Conan's eyes flickered with a return of sharp clarity. He looked at the living room, which was filled with dozens of people in colorful "Super Sentai" spandex suits—Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple—holding various weapons.

They struck a pose and shouted in unison:

"Evil Alien Leader Ichigo Kurosaki and Vile Light-Demon Edogawa Conan! We, the members of the Beika Justice Magical Girl Squad, have traveled from the end of space-time to stop this future of darkness and despair!"

Conan, having loosened his brain suppression, deduced the situation instantly.

His plan was absolute; therefore, the setting of a "Time Machine" must exist in this destiny. He would use it to change the past. But the appearance of that setting had deeper consequences than he anticipated.

The Time Machine didn't even exist yet, and already "Future People" had used one to travel back to the present.
