Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: The God Who Has Deeply Studied How to Destroy the World

Chapter 45: The God Who Has Deeply Studied How to Destroy the World

Such a massive Reishi drill, grinding relentlessly into one's face—the scene was truly tragic, with blood spraying in violent jets.

As the BGM and the lines echoing in the sky became increasingly hot-blooded and passionate, the power of the Reishi drill continued to climb, and simultaneously, the volume of blood loss spiked sharply.

Yhwach, however, did not sit still waiting for death. Majestic Reishi radiance erupted in full bloom, walling off the surrounding space to form a barrier. Then, infinite Sacred Arrows were birthed from within the barrier, weaving and colliding until they formed a colossal Reishi explosion.

The output was so fierce that it completely pulverized the entire throne hall. The giant Reishi mecha holding the drill shattered and vanished. Yhwach soared into the sky like a meteor, boundless Reishi radiance swirling around his body. Then, a sudden mutation occurred: the Quincies within the Wandenreich collapsed one after another, disintegrating into massive pillars of Reishi light that were absorbed by Yhwach.

All that had been shared now returned; the sacrifice of countless individuals served only to elevate one man's throne until he transcended the mortal realm!

This was Auswählen!

Yhwach's pupils were splitting, eventually settling into a multi-pupiled gaze.

This was him reclaiming his strongest authority as the King of Quincies and the Son of the Soul King: The Almighty!

The function of these eyes was simple: they could see into the past and future, and simultaneously change results that were unfavorable to him. The blade capable of wounding him would be snapped by these eyes in advance; even the conclusion of his own death would be usurped. This was a profound power involving time, fate, and causality.

However, this power was so esoteric that even Yhwach could not truly push it to its absolute limit. But against mortal enemies, it could already be called invincible.

Mo Yu didn't care much about Yhwach's transformation. He was merely evaluating the combat effectiveness of his first use of this trump card.

The result was better than expected. The power of Purity leaned toward the "idealistic." Since he lacked sufficient hot-bloodedness and momentum himself, he "borrowed" it from other anime characters to pry into the Purity system and manifest a move like the Reishi version of the Tengen Toppa Drill.

Such a move had staggering lethality; if taken head-on, even Yhwach's Blut Vene wouldn't hold. But the flaw was also obvious: while built on the Purity system, the move ultimately drew upon the Reishi of the Bleach world. While powerful, it lacked the "unilateral contact" nature of Divine Interference and could be neutralized by Yhwach's counter-attack.

All in all, it was a trade-off. There was massive room for optimization, but it was enough. For Mo Yu, this clash with Yhwach was just a test to see how far his current power and methods could go. To put it bluntly, he had arranged his skills, conceived a rotation, and wanted to find a training dummy to test his DPS data.

The overall result of this DPS test was subtle. Perhaps because Mo Yu's "cultivation" was still shallow, even with Divine Authority at full throttle, he couldn't yet be called truly invincible. But combined with certain cards and tactics, he had a high degree of confidence in suppressing or wounding any powerful being in the Bleach world. Killing them, however, remained difficult and would require extra layout and assistance.

Regardless, knowing this gave him a clear picture of things.

As Mo Yu was lost in thought, Yhwach—having executed Auswählen and ascended back to his throne amidst the Quincy sacrifices—stared at that seemingly eternal, omnipresent gaze. His voice carried an irrepressible anger:

"Soul King, are You here to stop me? Others do not understand what I have done, but do You not understand either?"

Through the eyes of The Almighty, the only thing Yhwach could see was that single gaze cast from beyond the heavens. Aside from that, he saw nothing! Everything related to that celestial gaze, from past to future, was a total void!

In Yhwach's long life, there had only been one instance where his Almighty eyes were rendered useless: the Soul King. Therefore, even if the aura didn't match, Yhwach confirmed Mo Yu's identity.

"The existence of the Three Worlds is an error! It must be corrected! Whether Soul Reaper or Hollow, all must be extinguished!" Yhwach roared within the fading Wandenreich.

This rage had existed eons ago, and after a millennium of fermentation, it had finally exploded. The Soul King was alive, but millions of years of silence had turned Him into a background setting—a name without presence. Though Yhwach called himself the Son of the Soul King, his heart held little love for Him; only resentment.

The roar pulled Mo Yu out of his tactical optimizations. He gazed at the furious Yhwach but didn't respond immediately. Instead, he moved his mouse to the playback bar and slowly dragged it backward.

In Yhwach's Almighty-boosted observation, the world distorted. An unstoppable torrent of time roared toward him like a tidal wave, enveloping and swallowing him whole.

Yhwach sat back on his throne once more in his original posture!

The shattered throne hall was restored. The Quincies swallowed by Auswählen reappeared. Yhwach's reopened eyes of The Almighty were back in their closed state. At that moment, the holy voice fell:

"It seems the 'heart-to-heart through fists' routine actually works. You're beginning to open up. Now we can have a proper talk..."

"Soul King... is this how You used to talk to people? It's insane. No wonder those Nobles betrayed You!"

Yhwach's face was beyond grim. He did not choose to trigger Auswählen again. After experiencing two time-reversals, he felt as if he were covered by a "Higher Almighty." Every ending Mo Yu disliked would be reset, reshaped, and changed until Mo Yu's desired outcome was reached.

A sense of powerlessness—the feeling that no matter what he did, he could not resist—filled his heart. Usually, Yhwach used The Almighty to make his enemies feel this way; he hadn't expected to feel it himself.

"There aren't that many people in this world qualified to make me reverse time just to communicate, and those Nobles certainly aren't among them. But that's not important. Let's put aside the boring tests and pleasantries. Yhwach, your ultimate goal is to destroy the Three Worlds and return them to the era of the Primordial Chaos, correct?"

Mo Yu asked bluntly. Yhwach paused, then answered: "Yes!"

Then Mo Yu asked: "While I know some of the details, I'd rather hear it from your own mouth. Why exactly are you doing this?"

Aizen's ambition came from his arrogance; he viewed the Soul King as a suppressed puppet and the Nobles as rot. He chose to conquer the Three Worlds to redefine order. Yhwach's desire to destroy them also had its own logic.

Hearing the question, Yhwach fell silent—not because he didn't want to speak, but because it triggered old memories.

A thousand years ago, before Yamamoto founded the Gotei 13, Ichibe Hyosube of the Zero Division descended. As the mediator of the Three Worlds, he proposed an initiative to Yhwach: Soul Reapers and Quincies would sign a non-aggression pact, and the world would be left to the Soul Reapers to rule. In exchange, Ichibe would ignore Yhwach unifying the Quincies into an Empire of Light.

It was a nonsense proposal. Yhwach didn't dwell on it, only asking Ichibe two questions:

"The world was once one. Who was it that drew the boundary within eternal peace, dividing it into life and death?" "The Soul King!" "And who brought the fear of death to the people?" "The Soul King as well!"

The meaning was profound, but Yhwach had no interest in playing word games with Ichibe. He spoke his mind without reservation:

"I hear the cries of the souls returning to me, filled with pain. I hear the complaints and sighs of the people fearing death and clinging to fleeting life. I know it all. In such a 'Three Worlds,' where is there peace to be found...?"

In his "infancy," Yhwach's bestowing and reclaiming were instinctive. Once he gained sentience, his behavior changed. Those he bestowed upon were made whole; their illnesses vanished, and they gained strength. While the reclaiming was inevitable, Yhwach could delay it until the recipient died of natural causes.

It was an act of kindness, but one with a heavy price. Every soul he blessed returned to him with everything they experienced in life and death—the good and the bad. Day after day, year after year, countless souls whispered in Yhwach's mind. Even the noble Son of the Soul King grew weary and eventually pained by the burden.

When the era entered turmoil, the things carried by the returning souls turned overwhelmingly negative. (To use a simple metaphor): even after the founding of the Gotei 13, peace was only for those within the Seireitei. Outside, the Rukongai was a place of bandits, serial killers, and famine—and occasionally, Soul Reapers would come to slaughter the inhabitants to "balance" the souls.

Every soul returned carrying the pain of being murdered, the agony of unmet desires, and extreme negative lusts. The fatigue turned to suffering, until it was unbearable. This was why Old Man Zangetsu within Ichigo cared so much about the boy's inner world; as a reflection of the Quincy King, he never wanted to hear those cries of agony again.

Under this endless weight, Yhwach conceived a plan. He would unify the Quincies, defeat the Soul Reapers and Hollows, blast open the gates of the Soul King Palace, and return the Three Worlds to chaos—back to the era where all things were ambiguous and life and death didn't exist. His goal was one:

"I want to create a world without sacrifice, without death, and without pain!"

After his brief reflection, Yhwach told Mo Yu his truest thoughts.

Mo Yu's evaluation was: "An interesting and meaningful idea. But I must say... you really don't know anything, do you?"

Yhwach's pupils contracted. A thousand years ago, Ichibe had mocked him with the same words before using the Soul King's Left Hand to seal Yhwach's Almighty eyes, leading to his eventual defeat by Yamamoto.

Yhwach, suffering a bit of PTSD from that phrase, asked: "What is it that you think I do not know?"

Mo Yu laughed. "Many things. For instance, the Three Great Tribulations the Chaos World once faced, or the true reason Soul Reapers, Quincies, and Hollows exist. But none of that is important. That's not what I want to talk about. What if I said... I support you? I support destroying the Three Worlds and returning them to Chaos."

Mo Yu never liked the current architecture. The survival of the worlds depended on a "Human Pillar" sacrifice; if the pillar failed, everything died. It was a nonsense model. Mo Yu intended to use his "Ark" plan to overhaul the entire universe.

Yhwach was invigorated. He hadn't expected the Soul King to support his philosophy!

"However, support is one thing. On the issue of how to destroy the world, I think you're a bit of an amateur. As a World-Destroying Villain, your intelligence gathering is insufficient; your knowledge of the Three Worlds' secrets is full of holes. Your field research is lacking; you haven't grasped the fundamental contradictions of the world. Your grassroots investigation is failing; you aren't reflecting the voice of the masses. Your strategic vision is poor; you've missed fundamental problems that would cause you to fail even after your philosophy is realized..."

Mo Yu's lecture left Yhwach in a daze. He hadn't realized being a world-ending villain had so many requirements. He couldn't help but wonder: The Soul King has been suppressed for a million years... has He just been studying how to end the world this whole time?

Or is this not the real Soul King, but a mad will born from the collapse of His mind during the long suppression?

Mo Yu wasn't just talking in circles. He used his wisdom to point Yhwach in a direction:

"In summary, if you truly want to return everything to Chaos, the first thing you must solve is the problem of Hell. If that isn't solved, your philosophy is a castle in the air with no practical value. Even if you achieve it, you will surely face destruction!"
