Chapter 2: The Legend of the Strongest Academy Security Guard is in Passionate Pre-production

Seeing Ichigo Kurosaki's reaction in the video, Mo Yu raised an eyebrow and instinctively looked at the microphone on his desk.

He had bought this gadget a long time ago for voice-to-text writing, but after a few failed attempts at dictation, he had left it to gather dust. He never expected that this microphone would find such a significant use now—actually allowing for cross-dimensional communication with an anime character.

Many web novel authors are avid anime fans, and Mo Yu was no exception. He quite liked Bleach for its high "coolness factor" and classic style. However, now that he could actually talk to Ichigo, he found himself at a loss for words. He couldn't exactly ask if Ichigo chose Orihime Inoue over Rukia Kuchiki at the end because Rukia was flat-chested while Orihime was "stacked."

In the video, Ichigo's reaction was unexpectedly intense. He looked suspicious, glancing around and searching his room. Though he found nothing, he eventually pumped his fist and shouted:

"I don't know where you're hiding, but I'm telling you, don't skimp around in my room! Just pass on to the afterlife peacefully already!"

Hearing this, Mo Yu was confused for a moment before the realization hit him.

The plot of Bleach wasn't overly complex: 15-year-old high schooler Ichigo Kurosaki naturally possessed the power to see ghosts. One day, he encounters a "Hollow"—a monster that feeds on souls—and a Soul Reaper girl named Rukia, who escorts souls to the afterlife. During a crisis, a heavily injured Rukia transfers her Soul Reaper powers to Ichigo. He powers up, thus beginning his journey of protecting the world with "cheat-like" abilities.

At the very start of the story, Ichigo is frequently bothered by wandering spirits because of his spiritual sight. Right now, Ichigo likely thought Mo Yu was just another lingering soul stalking him. In fact, there actually was the soul of an old man hiding in Ichigo's room at this point in the canon, though it was an insignificant detail.

Mo Yu thought for a moment, then spoke into the mic: "I am merely an observer watching over you."

Ichigo's expression turned solemn. That layered, majestic, and holy voice sounding as if it came from beyond the heavens put immense pressure on him. It wasn't because he felt a threat; on the contrary, it was because he couldn't sense the speaker at all. After a moment, Ichigo sighed and said: "Fine. Whoever you are, please just move on to the next life quickly!"

With that, Ichigo ignored the voice and headed downstairs. This was his experience: if you don't want to deal with ghosts, pretend you can't see them and ignore them. Most spirits couldn't do much other than be annoying. Although this one had a strange voice—like it had special effects applied—Ichigo didn't want to overthink it.

Mo Yu didn't speak again. He just watched silently, as the video's perspective remained locked onto Ichigo.

Ichigo's mother, Masaki, had long since passed away, leaving only his father, Isshin Kurosaki, and his two younger sisters, Karin and Yuzu.

"Yo! My brat of a son! You're up late today! Take this—the Education of Fatherly Love!"

As soon as Ichigo got downstairs, Isshin came flying at him. Ichigo sighed and kicked his idiot father across the room. What followed was a classic anime-style interaction: father and son bickering until the sisters stopped them, followed by the family sitting down for breakfast while the TV reported news of mysterious explosions in the nearby area.

Mo Yu found these classic comedy tropes quite entertaining. This "live broadcast" style was much more detailed than the anime, showing the Kurosaki family's interactions in full. But after a while, Mo Yu fell into deep thought.

He had successfully used his Divine Authority to find the Bleach World Bubble in the Silver Sea, but what now?

Mo Yu tried moving his mouse. He hovered over an ornament in the corner of the Kurosaki living room. Following his will, the cursor transformed into a tiny hand. He gripped the ornament, trying to pull it back into reality.

The ornament wobbled under the cursor's grip, but in the next moment, a flash of instinctive insight hit him. He could intervene and influence things, but items from the World Bubble could not be brought back to reality. Or rather, these things lacked the "qualification" and "power" to ascend from the Silver Sea to the material dimension. Perhaps an item like the Hogyoku—the most significant treasure in the Bleach world—might have a chance, but it was only a possibility. Without testing it, Mo Yu couldn't be sure.

Realizing this, Mo Yu felt a bit frustrated. If he was just going to watch the plot of Bleach unfold in real-time as a hobby, that was fine, but it was meaningless for his livelihood.

His Divine Status and Authority, his Glory and Kingdom—all of it had been nerfed to this pathetic state upon falling into the material world. What was worth peering at in the Bleach world? Even if he found something, how much would it shrink once brought out?

What about non-physical supernatural skills or techniques? Mo Yu felt that if he played his cards right, he could make the characters give him a step-by-step, illustrated tutorial on their techniques.

He instinctively shook his head. The supernatural techniques of the Bleach world—whether it was the Soul Reapers' Zankensoki (Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hohō, Kidō) or the various Quincy techniques—depended heavily on the inherent laws of that world. They wouldn't mean much here. He could try a sci-fi world later, but honestly, he didn't have high hopes.

Mo Yu frowned. He had a "Golden Finger" and had taken the first step, but the feeling of having a mountain of treasure and not knowing how to use it was incredibly irritating.

While Mo Yu was brooding, Ichigo continued his daily routine. As a fifteen-year-old student, he headed to school. On the way, he used his fists to "educate" a few delinquents who had knocked over a vase of flowers left as an offering at the base of a utility pole.

After teaching the thugs a lesson, Ichigo turned to thin air and gave some instructions. To the thugs, he was talking to nobody, but from the perspective of Ichigo and Mo Yu, a ghostly little girl was standing there thanking him.

Mo Yu looked on with appreciation. Whether in anime or novels, deeply characterized characters are the most beloved by audiences. Ichigo's character design followed the typical tropes—overpowered, hot-blooded, righteous—but it was well-executed. Throughout the series, except for a few moments where he was beaten into a daze, Ichigo never strayed from his core. He carried the word "Protect" from start to finish.

"As expected of a protagonist from the Big Three. Other protagonists should really take notes... Wait, other anime..."

Suddenly, a bolt of inspiration struck Mo Yu. Although the Silver Sea and reality were incompatible, making it hard to extract items, simply being able to peek at the visuals of the World Bubbles through his screen was a reward in itself.

The images on his screen were already in a 2D anime style. If he gave Ichigo a script, found a way to make him perform, recorded the footage, and edited it... wouldn't that be a ready-made anime?

He could then upload this "anime" to websites under the name of an animation company. No matter how much it made, it would be a source of income.

If life was a novel, Mo Yu felt he could finally live the life of a "Urban Entertainment" protagonist using his Golden Finger.

With a solid plan in mind, Mo Yu realized he hadn't kept up with new anime for years due to his writing schedule. He had the strategy but lacked specific creative inspiration. He opened QQ and went to a group chat for his readers. He found a long-time friend there; in Mo Yu's memory, this friend was a "normie" in real life but was very familiar with the "2D world" of anime. He would surely have some ideas.

Mo Yu: "You there?"

Demon Emperor: "Yup!"

Mo Yu: "I recently met a big-shot investor interested in the anime/film industry. He wants me to draft a script. He gave me a protagonist's character design and wants some basic plot outlines. You watch a lot of anime; any suggestions?"

Demon Emperor: "What's the character design?"

Mo Yu (glancing at the screen): "The design is similar to Ichigo Kurosaki before he met Rukia. He has spiritual sight, hidden passion, and a sense of justice—a classic Japanese hot-blooded protagonist who sees protecting others as his mission. Oh, and the style should be Japanese-themed."

Demon Emperor: "Hmm, hot-blooded, righteous, Japanese style... How about The Legend of the Strongest Academy Security Guard?"

"To protect the peace of the academy, the wallets of the boys, and the virtue of the girls, he fights thugs, the Yakuza, capitalists, and politicians every night."

"He uses the 'Truck-kun Iaijutsu' to deliver divine justice to the corrupt politicians eyeing the Student Council President."

Seeing the suggestions, Mo Yu tilted his head, his mind filled with question marks. He couldn't help but sigh, feeling like he really couldn't keep up with the times. He didn't expect modern anime to favor such plots.

"Strongest Academy... Security Guard Legend!? Hmm... Let me think. It sounds like it has a hook. Might work. I'll go try it with Ichigo—uh, I mean, I'll go brainstorm the plot. Anyway, thanks for the ideas, Sis Demon Emperor. I'm heading out."

After closing QQ, Mo Yu felt the suggestion was actually quite catchy and had enough of a hook to be worth a try. After all, he didn't need to invest real money. Even if the market reaction was poor, he could try again and again. He didn't have to worry about consequences. Now, only one problem remained:

How to get Ichigo Kurosaki to accept the script for The Legend of the Strongest Academy Security Guard!

But that shouldn't be a big problem. After all, Mo Yu possessed a genuine Old Testament God status in the Silver Sea. And for the sake of making money, God is omnipotent.

Switching back to the player, Ichigo had finished talking to the little girl's spirit and was heading to school.

Mo Yu wasn't in a hurry. He calmed his mind to explore the range of his interference in the Bleach world.

He gripped the mouse, held the left click, and dragged it slightly. The perspective shifted accordingly. Moving from the fixed top-down view in front of Ichigo, he began to rotate the camera. During this process, he saw the ordinary citizens of the Bleach world. Out of curiosity, he flew the camera over to look at them closely. He discovered something interesting.

Although these ordinary people were in a 2D style, it was well-known that the early art style of Bleach wasn't particularly refined. Face and body details were often rough. However, these people's art was incredibly exquisite and detailed—on the level of Violet Evergarden. This was a good thing, though Mo Yu felt he might need to lower the quality in post-production to make his "anime" look more natural.

This was just a minor observation. Through some manipulation, Mo Yu realized that his interference—at least regarding the perspective—was quite free. The mouse was just a medium. If he wanted, the camera could travel anywhere. He could even leave the classroom and fly at super-high speeds to tour Karakura Town. But it was limited to this city.

When Mo Yu steered the camera to the edge of Karakura Town, he saw only a void.

Evidently, this Bleach World Bubble was limited by the original story's descriptions. In the physical realm, the only part of Japan that existed was Karakura Town. Interestingly, televisions in the residents' homes still showed news from other cities like Tokyo, but Mo Yu didn't care to figure out why. With a thought, the camera zipped back to Ichigo's classroom and locked onto him.

Mo Yu continued testing his limits. He moved the mouse and noticed a progress bar appearing at the bottom of the player. He moved the cursor to the bar and dragged it backward.

In the classroom, the listless Ichigo suddenly felt something was wrong. His heart felt heavy, as if an invisible hand covering the sky had slowly descended to grasp the entire world.

At that moment, Ichigo—who was walking on the road—noticed the pedestrians around him suddenly stop. Even a bird flying by froze in mid-air.

Time was frozen, but Ichigo was the exception.

His eyes widened in disbelief. "What's going on?"

Before he could investigate, the surrounding scenery began to change drastically. Pedestrians began walking backward; even the bird flew in reverse. Time was rewinding at high speed.

When Ichigo came to his senses, he found himself lying in his bed. At that moment, his alarm clock rang. He instinctively turned to look and realized time had returned to the morning.

Ichigo leaped out of bed, looking around in shock. Right then, a holy voice descended from the heavens and echoed in his ears:

"Ichigo Kurosaki, you have surprised me somewhat!"
