Chapter 2 - The Free Bird

I was so excited for my first day in Draven's middle school, which was obviously the most prestigious school in the province. My dad was displeased to learn that I had to stay in the dormitory, but I was overjoyed to be away from his constant control and mom's incessant nagging.

The only issue was that my six sisters also attended this school and I was under their radar. But honestly that wasn't going to stop me from living my best life in this horribly named school.

My dad dropped me off with a grand entourage consisting of different luxury cars, to which I was given one with a driver to take me around campus. It was obviously another ploy by my father to monitor me but it was also convenient so I accepted it.

Unlike other parents my father advised me to strike fear and build my reputation as the future Tborne's heir, while my mom advised me to keep my secret well and map out a way to deliver myself and my sister from the hand o f my father.

Honestly, I wasn't really paying attention to them because I was busy fantasizing about what my school life would be like. By the time they were leaving, I had already settled into my private dorm room.

I

was still reveling in the joy of finally being free, until, I saw the text my dad sent me.

'Son, to ensure your safety, I have assigned to you two of my best bodyguards.'

What the actual hell, it is so obvious that he was trying to monitor my every move with the help of his so called bodyguards.

What is the use of my escape if I am still being trailed by two men of unknown origin.

I groaned in obvious dissatisfaction about this whole situation. It's literally like I'm still caged whilst given a visual representation of being free.

Still mumbling about my dissatisfaction, another message chimed on my phone, it was from my eldest sister, Danielle, who was in her senior year. She asked to meet at the cafeteria, I got dressed in casual clothes mainly because my dad mandated me to be in formal wears all the time.

As I stepped out, I encountered the two bodyguards stationed at the door scanning the whole floor like everyone and every room harbored a criminal. They curtly bowed when the saw me and immediately started trailing behind me.

Every single person turned to stare at me which was pretty much valid. Could you imagine a 5ft boy with a petite frame being escorted by two burly bodyguards.

I got to the seniors lounge and saw my sisters there. Danielle saw me and waved me over to their table. I walked over to their table with those two bodyguards still trailing behind me and sat down.

With flick of her fingers, she dismissed the other bodyguards that were with my other sisters. Meanwhile, my bodyguards refused to leave saying that my father had specifically ordered them not to leave my side.

I was about to order them to leave when Danielle snapped her fingers and two of her female bodyguards escorted mine out.

I wasn't so shocked, after my father, Danielle had the most authority in the Thorne corporation and family. She has always been so domineering and strict, she'll have been my father's favorite if she wasn't a girl.

After we had all settled down, they all set their sights on me.

Danielle started by asking me how I was settling into the new environment and all those small talk.

I could tell that they all wanted to pass something across to me. After a few minutes of small talk, Jada finally snapped and told Evelyn to tell me what was going on.

Evelyn took a deep breath and glanced at Evie and both told me something utterly shocking.

They had all planned to escape my father with my mother and they were going to do that the day after tomorrow.

I was speechless for a few moments with millions of thoughts running in my head. They were planning to flee, without even stringing me along.

At that point, I couldn't just help but stare at them, all of them one after the other. So they claimed to be my sisters but planned to ditch me with that monster.

Danielle decided to finally clear my doubt and finally told me the truth. They had been planning their escape for two years and have gathered enough money to live for the rest of their lives. Penelope who was the tech guru had already cleared all the traces of the money and assets transfer. While Priscilla had calculated dad's schedule and mapped out the perfect time for escape.

This wasn't just a mediocre plan, it was like a full blown heist and they meticulously planned everything and made sure to exclude me.

Noticing my gloomy expression, Danielle decided to tell ms why u wasn't involved. She told me that whilst we were escaping, taking me along will be too much of a risk she wasn't willing to take. She further explained that if they escaped with my mother and, my dad might not really care but if they escaped with me. He will search for us until his last breath.

So they had already decided to leave me as the scapegoat of their actions. Whilst I thought that I was a free bird, they were literally going to be free from that prison leaving me to the mercy of my father and my life being controlled.

I was so angry, why was I the one who always had to sacrifice something for the benefit of others. First, I sacrificed my identity and now, they wanted me to sacrifice myself so that they could be free?.

I stormed out of the lounge and returned back to my room, I wasn't going to pretend to be okay with all these when I actually wasn't.
